Yeah
5 sovereigns on Solas as well for me.
I want Grey Warden dude or Iron Bull (or Cole if he is a companion), but I suspect Solas.

I think that would take too much time and effort to implement, but that is an awesome idea! ^^
My post above refers to the link about the letter Cullen sent to Hawke. It's weird because I did quote it. Where did you go?

Though we are all crossing our fingers and secretly hoping for you-know-who ![]()
Broodmother obviously, DUH.
So have they stopped with the character kits? Cuz it's been a while...
They might release it with the actual Follower Week that follows the Follower Friday
Pssh obviously ![]()
I found the letter to be very cute. :3 ( is that a bad thing?)
I think it's pretty cute XD And I also think it shows his close relationship with Hawke? Like how he slips being unprofessional at times and also I feel like he's asking favor from friend or giving Hawke a warning cause he knows Aveline is her/his friend and that Hawke will sort things out in best way? So I think he's trusting Hakwe. Or maybe I'm just looking too much in the letter ^^;
@Kirrahe1: Second's in commands at least in the literature, movies, etc that I've read have always been the more involved characters in external affairs. If someone gets removed the superiors are more likely to demote someone else rather than promote someone that either didn't deserve/earn it or was corrupted by the experience of the commander/captain that was removed. Since most countries aren't Theocracies but still heavily influenced by the Chantry itself I imagine that Templar formally outrank any other form of guardsman/police type official. Not to mention that apparently Kirkwall was East Thedas' main Templar Stronghold which is why Bethany/Carver/Hawke were all like "Wait you want to go to Kirkwall?" with Mama Hawke at the beginning.
Knight-Captains just have much more fun lol
I love that letter.
But I see it more as concern for Aveline, whom he likely respects, than proof of friendship with Hawke. I always felt Hawke and Cullen didn't interact enough "on screen" to have built up a friendship. I think at one point Hawke can say to Cullen that s/he's just "checking in on an old friend." I was like, huh? Since when did Hawke and Cullen become friends?
So here I think Cullen was hearing these ridiculous rumors about Aveline, and not only did he think they were unfounded (and we know Cullen would be against things like rumors and dishonoring an honorable woman) but it also would, as he put it, quite simply be a headache for him if he has to actually DO something about it.
So he dumps it all on Hawke, in hopes of averting a crisis lol

Ooo splendid theory

It might be just my headcannon but I imagine Hawke being in pretty good terms with Cullen. I'm basing that on the old friend comment too ^^ For me it just seems like Cullen and Hawke formed relationship where which was about respect and trust, and that's why Cullen trusted Hawke's judgement many times during the game. But yup I wonder if it's more of personal headcanon than something that happens in game, I mean there is references of them being somehow friendly but not much.
I love that letter.

I'd say they were more really close acquaintances. It's a strained relationship simply due to their respective stations either because Hawke is a mage or because Cullen is required to take Bethany in. Friend might be the default, but the only really friendly (in the basest definition of the word) thing he does is comfort Hawke regarding Leandra.
He speaks about Leandra? I don't think I've heard that.
It's a little mention not in major dialogue, just some of his ambient dialogue I think.
You know, I had always just assumed Cullen didn't have a lot of schooling (of the non-templar variety, anyway) but the letter he sent Hawke was pretty eloquent. I'm starting to rethink that. Maybe chantry schooling at least?
P.S. There was actually another letter from Cullen. A report to Meredith about Mage Underground.
I apologize if it has been already mentioned before. Just noticed you discuss one letter, but I remembered there were 2 letters from him.
I love that letter.

Seeing I was playing a snarky little sh!t Hawke, I always took the 'checking in on an old friend' as just being snarky. ![]()

Thanks for mentioning, I don't think have seen this one before ^^
Well, there aren't so far followers/character shown by Bioware yet. We know that Solas, IB, Cullen and Alistair are in the game, but Bioware always released the character kits after they shown the character in some forms. And for Alistair his kit might be a spoiler to his role in the game.So have they stopped with the character kits? Cuz it's been a while...
Totally hoping Solas ends up the next reveal atm.
and may his head be shiny enough to blind our foes.
*hides*
I love Cullen's letters!!
It'd obviously be amazing for him to become a companion, but if he were a scout/informant I'd love it if we got lots
of letters from him like updates with cute inside jokes between him and the inquisitor
That would be pretty awesome!
If he went through chantry schooling, I can imagine that from his word choices and his letter, Cullen would have very neat handwriting.
Compared to Alistair, who I reckon would have barely paid attention in class and spent most of his time doodling. Even as a King, I can imagine Alistair has such a messy scrawl that the court officials are constantly struggling to decipher it and have taken to simply getting him to dictate what he wants to write and getting him to sign it afterwards.
That's how I picture it, too. Neat handwriting, perfect grammar, all his books and papers clean and sorted and pays attention in class. While Alistair shows up with wrinkled, occasionally stained, papers with sloppy handwriting and spends the entire class daydreaming.
I picture Cullen as being quite intelligent and a fast learner, although a bit on the naive/oblivious side.
Alistair is a bit more of a dreamer. He's not in any way stupid, he just learns in his own way
