Hey, am I missing something with Varric?

 

Have they explained how Bianca got her name?

It sounds like the crossbow was named after a actual person?

 

That is the story he won't tell.............. but Im kind of hoping he does this time

Cullen made a comment to Oghren about how dwarves are cave dwelling heathens, so I would imagine dwarves would be on that list.

He never makes that comment to a dwarf warden. It's just Oghren. And c'mon. It's Oghren. Not to mention Cullen had been tortured/under major stress at the time. I'd probably call Oghren a cave dwelling heathen under those circumstances. 

 

That's not to say he couldn't be racist towards dwarves, mind. I just don't think we can judge from that one comment.

I think they've saved the two race-gated LI's for last. Varric has a story-related reason to be race-gated against Qunari, but the other two options, who knows?
I'm less confident about Solas since -I think it was on Raptr but it might not have been- there was some joking about Mordin associated with him. I'll be happy with whichever one of the males we get (though if Blackwall could sound a bit less like my dad, it would be greatly appreciated as otherwise that's a no-go) but I'm holding out for Vivi

He never makes that comment to a dwarf warden. It's just Oghren. And c'mon. It's Oghren. Not to mention Cullen had been tortured/under major stress at the time. I'd probably call Oghren a cave dwelling heathen under those circumstances. 

 

That's not to say he couldn't be racist towards dwarves, mind. I just don't think we can judge from that one comment. 

It's the best comment to predict who he would be racegated against, if he is racegated, at the moment.

What are your ships so far? Like which Inquisitors (race/class) do you plan to ship with who, if you have these kinds of plans together already? 

 

I'm curious after looking at Aimo's art/ships. 

 

Right, this is in order what I pan to play first:

 

1) Cullen with female human rogue

2) Iron Bull with female qunari mage

3) Josephine with male qunari warrior

4) Sera with female human mage

5) Iron Bull with female elven rogue

 

and then just lots and lots of Cullen with whoever

It was. The cross bow was actually CREATED by a dwarven woman named Bianca. In the comics, it seem like Varric and Bianca were in love and trying to get out of the merchant's guild. She either couldn't make it, was caught, whatever, and they were separated.

I think it's more just old school religious discrimination--not an andastrian? Well then, you're a heathen.

My main one is Human!Mage/Cullen.  I know it's unoriginal, but I always role play as myself in my first PT (and in every other PT...I love seeing how badly I would do in this world   ).  Mage is my favourite class (I wasn't that keen on it in DAO, I loved the story though!), but I'll definitely be trying out every other class.  

 

...That's it so far.  I'm not used to following a game before it's release date, so I have gone down the road of seeing where my mood takes me.  99.999% sure my first PT will be a human mage with Cullen. 

 

After handeling that with my usual elegance *ahem* I'm offski.  Have a great day/night folks.  Hopefully when I get back some news shall be waiting for me

I'm not saying Cullen will be racegated. The post I was responding to asked which races he would be racegated against if he was racegated. How else to make predictions for that but Cullen's own comments? The only other thing I can think of to consider is animations. In that case, qunari and dwarves seem the most difficult.

On different topic, with the end of characters reveals, what do you think marketing will focus on? I hope to know more about race backgrounds, with a blurb in the site plus some shots of male and female characters.
I wanted to know about them for a long time, and I'd like to see all the gender/race combo shots.

I don't think he'll be race-gated either, but if he is I can see it being on religious grounds. Qunari, dwarves, and dalish elves aren't Andrastians, so they'd be out. I don't think they'll do that, though, because what if you play as a qunari who constantly gives money to the Chantry or asks for blessings? Then he couldn't say that you can't be together due to religious differences and it creates a plot hole.

Yeah, but you could say the same for surface dwarves and Paragon worship. Maybe he could be gated against dalish elves. I doubt he will be race-gated at all, but you never know.

Good morning from the Netherlands everyone! Did I miss anything important since yesterday?

 

I think (or I'd like to think) that Cullen isn't racegated, having thought about everything he'd known all his life and realizing it's not right to condemn everyone who doesn't follow what he follows.

 

As for my pairings?

 

Cullen/Female Dwarf Rogue (durr)

Josephine/Female Qunari Mage

Varric/Female Human Warrior (if possible... :S)

Vivienne/Female Elf Rogue (if possible)

 

The rest is yet unplanned. I do plan to romance everyone in the long run.
