Yeah, it was explained, simply and plainly, why it would be inappropriate. The only real discussion I think you can glean from this is whether or not David was as clear as he could have been when writing Asunder. In my last reading session, there was a simile he used to describe Cole's frustration or something and it was something like 'like a child with their face pressed up against a window'. And to me, the way it was phrased implied he was older than a child to me.
Yep that's the only issue I have with the whole situation. It wasn't clear to everyone who read the novel what state Cole was in; it was clear to some, but not all. I think DG handled it in a... less than classy way
But we're all kind of used to that from him. Good ole PW has cleared things up in a really nice way.
