You would think that to some degree templars would have some study on the theory of warfare and strategy, no? Maybe they have war games?

lol, maybe!

Oooh, that would be so entertaining to watch :) The Chantry could make a lot of money on selling tickets.

Somebody make me a Divine! I'll reform everything!

I'm pretty anti-Loghain.. I just don't like his character and it's pretty easy for me to chop his head off.. however everyone plays how they see fit : )

Y'know what I do like about this new BAMF Cullen? The fact that he's finally willing to lead. In the previous two games he was similar to Alistair in regards to waiting for others to act first and not taking charge himself. It'll be interesting to see this new side to him, I like that he's really coming into his own at last.

Holy cow... finally caught up. I can't believe there were so many pages dedicated to that nonsense. Seriously. Some folks need a better hobby than worrying about what other people like.

So for a dose of silliness, I'm trying to work past my Cullen/Hawke OTP feels in my 100 Days of Dragon Age post today. Heh.

Kirkwall Knights, parody of Grease's Summer Nights:lol: [[ yes, Cullenites you might recall I started part of  this long, long ago, in a DA2 thread far, far away]]

edit for ToP: Cullen singing?? :)

Okay, okay- important question coming up:

Which of our companions/advisors can you most see Cullen singing a duet with? And which song? it can be a drinking song, a rhyme, or a ballad- anything

Leliana, they can sing chant together ^^

All this talk about the X Men movies made me think: If Cullen were a character from the movie what kind of mutant would he be? What abilities would he have? And woud he be on team Magneto or team Xavier?

Erm, I don't think he would be a mutant - a human with a misguided opinion on mutants which would be changed when his own child goes through their first stage of mutation and then he will do anything to protect his child from the anti-mutant regime.......?

Blackie! I mean, Blackwall. I just have a feeling Cullen and Blackwall would get along super nicely. Unless Blackwall would try to look down on Cullen because of his age, I think that would ****** Cullen off  They should sing this song:

Spoiler

Cassandra would be swooning somewhere in a dark corner :)

Do you think, that quite possibly plans for certain characters have been planned way in advance?

Like they knew that before DA2 or even DAO that these characters were going to play a much larger part?

I'm just wondering, if they only think about including certain characters playing a certain role when they start on the development of a new game or that they knew they wanted this character in this sort of role but how & why was yet to be determined?

Or am I over thinking it a little?

Oh well you didn't miss much. His main point for not liking Cullen was because he had fans. Pretty lame argument really

It's something I've been wondering about from DA2 to DAI with Cullen. Was he always going to be a big part of DAI and that's why they decided to have him make a change of heart by the end of DA2? Or did that occur after they started making DAI and realised that his story arc would work well for the military advisor etc? Were the advisors always going to be in DAI? Or were they added in when they were given the extra year to work on the game?

Oh I know. And that his thread was so big. So he therefore decided it a good idea to contribute about 10 pages to the thread!

He never hit me as unwilling to lead. Quite the opposite, in fact! He never had enough obedience. Cullen always questions everything, you can see him doing that a lot. He always has some doubts. He questions the way Chantry treats mages in DAO, then in DAII he ponders on everything you say to him, you can see that he's always thinking, "Is this a right thing?" And he's not afraid of actions that may have serious consequences. My favourite part is when he's trying to tell Greagoir what to do, and Greg has to yell at him, "Shut up, I'm the boss here!" I don't say I agree with what Cullen was demanding back then, because I disagree, but he wasn't afraid to argue with his knight-commander when he though he was right. And that moment when he told Meredith to step down too. Cullen is definitely not afraid to be in charge. He just didn't have a good opportunity to demonstrate his full potential before. Now he does.

Or even if that played a part in why he was chosen to be in DA2 as Knight-Captain in Kirkwall? Just makes me wonder how long his and other characters part in the games have been planned for... maybe after the games released I'll get enough courage to tweet DG about it.

I'm not writer but they would of used some sort of story board as a guideline for the games?

Oh, he's certainly questioned a lot of things and demanded action before, absolutely. But he never physically acted on it himself, not until the end... Perhaps that was due to the ideal that his superiors would make the right decisions, especially with Meredith as he defended her right up until he could no longer ignore her corruption, he obviously wanted to believe that she was doing the right thing even if he knew deep down that she wasn't (which he makes evident). I think maybe by the end of DA2 he realised that if you want something done properly then you need to do it yourself and lead by example.
