Interesting. David Gaider says that in some romances (at least one) we can try to avoid sex. I have a feeling it may be Cullen and/or Scribbles.

Actually, I think it'll be the Iron Bull. I recall them saying his romance scenes didn't actually have as much fiddly animations as the others anyway which is why they were able to un race gate him.
Besides, it says, you CAN avoid the sex, doesn't mean you don't have to.

Is it that you can avoid it completely, or that you can put it off until the scene sneaks up on you?
Not that I'd be doing either, Lady Inquisitor needs to have a hobby.

So I had a weird/sad dream last night; I dreamed we (the Cullen thread) were all hanging out together; it was a sort of reunion, and everyone brought their boyfriends... you all brought Cullen!!! LOL Just like fifteen copies of Cullen roaming about the auditorium. And I was wondering who my boyfriend would be, only to learn it was Iron Bull. I was so upset. Probably hurt Bull's feelings

I liked how we could turn down Viconia in BG2. I was playing that huge beefy man, and she was like, "take on me, take me on!" and I said, "No! Where are my flowers and candles?" and that's when the romance took an interesting turn for something deeper than just physical attraction, It was kind of cool. I wonder if we could do something like that with Cullen, because Sheryl's comment about getting the fem Mage out of his system still haunts me.

Yep, truly, Zev is a sweetheart. I know you can say you're not ready, and he'll say he understands, and I actually thought I broke the romance, but I didn't. I was playing a shy city elf Warden I did eventually want to sleep with him though, so I approached him and asked if he wanted to sleep with me, and of course he said yes lol But I hear you can finish out the romance without ever actually doing that. Do you get the "Easy Lover" achievement though? (Hate that name by the way...) Not sure.

While I agree with Lola in that I am gonna hit that like the ...well you know. I do love the idea that there are romances that do NOT culminate in sex. Because, you know, life is like that sometimes.

Well, here's my quickly-written effort at how the Inquisitor led to Sebastian joining the Chantry. I've just dashed it off in between cooking ready for my dinner guests tonight, so apologies if it's rubbish!

Tankards clinked. The taste of rich dark ale flowed down her throat. Was it her sixth? Seventh? She couldn’t remember. “Sebastian!” she hissed, elbowing the young man next to her in the ribs.
“Ow!” Sebastian glared blearily at her. “What?”
“How much have we had to drink?”
He frowned, then patted his purse. “Not enough, Mela, I’ve still got coin left. Another?”
There was a reason she shouldn’t have another drink. A reason neither of them should be sitting in a back-alley tavern late at night, dressed as common men. But for the life of her Melaina couldn’t remember it. A nagging feeling told her this was becoming a regular occurrence.
She shrugged, the movement almost dislodging the cap that held her hair. A loose tendril dangled down, tawny and shining. “Why not?”

Sebastian stood, and walked unsteadily to the bar. Melaina admired his figure as he moved. There had been something about him that called to her, a similar wildness of spirit and boredom with their regular lives. They’d drunk in every single tavern in Starkhaven, tumbled in and out of every brothel, dressed in whatever they could find. They’d almost been discovered when they fell into a river whilst-
“Mela?”
She looked up, and took the proffered drink. “Thanks Seb.”
The tankards clinked, and the night grew longer.

They dragged each other, laughing through the mansion grounds. Her cap was lost, and her hair was full of leaves. Her mouth stung with kisses and alcohol, and her feet seemed to belong to someone else. She’d never stayed out quite this late before. Had never brought him home. She wondered why.
“Not much further” she whispered, clutching him for support. He swayed, and they went down in a heap. “Maker I hope not!” he said loudly as they untangled themselves. She pointed to a trellis, wending up the brick wall. “ Up there, second floor.”
“You’re not serious? You climb that?” Sebastian’s bright eyes were wide in amazement.
“Hurry up!” Staggering over the last of the grass, she grabbed hold of the trelles and began to climb. Naturally agile, she normally had little difficulty scaling the thick wooden slats, but tonight she seemed slow and clumsy. Must be the drink, she thought. She heard Sebastian climbing below her. Not far to go now. Then-
CRACK-
The weight of the two climbers snapped the supports and the trellis folded, sending them both crashing to the ground. Lights flew on across the mansion as candles were lit, and footsteps thudded across the grass. A ring of faces swam into focus, gruff voices exclaiming; “What’s going on-?”
“-It’s Prince Sebastian!”
“-and Lady Melaina!”
So that was why this was such a bad idea. “Oh crap,” she murmured, before she finally passed out.

Inquisitor Melaina looked across at Varric with a grin; “and THAT’s how Sebastian Vael joined the Chantry”.
Varric chuckled, and pushed a bag of silver across the table. “You win tonight’s storytelling contest Trevelyan. I can foresee heading into a whole lot of trouble with you at the helm!”
Melaina smiled, pocketing the coin, “Oh, you can count on it!”

I got the achievement on my foursome-with-Isabela playthrough, where I made my poor warden sleep with everyone she could get

I know "about" them but have only read the comics. A merchant dwarf and a Tevinter magister make for a fascinating pair though lol!
