He would totally join that! Though the title would have to change every couple of years. Not too long ago it would have been "Officially Rejected Spouses of Thane Fangirls Thread"
Poor guys.
Ah, Thane. ![]()

R2 is away at the moment, if that's what you mean? I don't think she's left permanently though, lol.
I'll check.
I think it's some kind of misunderstanding, lol
I tweeted her just in case.
Check out R2's Cullen limericks, btw!
So you guys came up with your Inquisitor's background story?
So you guys came up with your Inquisitor's background story?
I had one all thought up for Delphine before, but I've scratched most of it as it's been rendered moot now that we know where the human Inquisitor is from. Originally, Delphine was a gutter-rat turned Orlesian bard. I was pretty attached to her backstory, but now I'm thinking that I'll just wait til the game comes out before I commit to anything so I don't disappoint myself again. I kept her personality though, so that's fine. ![]()
So you guys came up with your Inquisitor's background story?
I have buuuut... I'm trying to not get too attached since I have no idea what the writers could have come up with and I don't really like muh headcanons to conflict with the game.
So you guys came up with your Inquisitor's background story?
I did. With 2 versions, actually. The first one was an apostate, but that was before devs said Trevelyan is a Circle mage. The biggest challenge now is not to make her another Amell, although that would be a recipe of success to get Cullen. So I'm trying to make her an opposite of my Amell: civil, lawful, calm, with great appreciation of luxury, passion for books, and a talent to make money out of anything. She's still trying to be a lady her parents would be proud of. I imagine her romance with Cullen would be veeeeery subtle. And Iron Bull will eventually smash them into one another, like "Now kiss! It's maddening!" ![]()

I have a crack canon, that Bull is the biggest shipper in the team, and he and Cass ship everything with everybody!
And they have OTPs and all that, lol.
Edit: this page needs more Cullens:

So you guys came up with your Inquisitor's background story?
I have but I'm still waiting for more info from BW since they already announced human Inquisitor's backgrounds. So I have to see just how well my planned backgrounds will fit to what BW gives to me but so far:
Skye Adaar: Former circle-mage, now apostate. Is part of Libetarian group and was with them in the peace meeting where **** went down. Being locked up in Circle most of her life, Skye drives for freedom and loves being outdoors. She's suprisingly optimistic about life although being pretty isolated in the circle: most of people were intidimated of her being qunari mage, this both protected her in the circle but also made her lonely.
This is my headcanon so far but I'm predicting to BW say that our qunaris are part of mercenary group or something similar and that qunari mage was raised as apostate so I have to wait if I need to change my backstory for Skye lot.
Valpur Adaar: Her parents were part of mercenary group after they escaped Qun. Her parents lived as Tal-Vashots but Valpur herself was never intrested in Qun-business, she just didn't want to have any part with that. After her parents died she left mercenary group and began travelling across Thedas as sword to hire. She is rather lonely although she wouldn't admit it herself. She was in the peace meeting as hired bodyguard.
Probaply Valpur has backstory which goes better with BW's given backstories, at least I hope so ^^ However I think the reason she's in peace meeting can be given by BW (probaply we won't know until game).
Tamarin Lavellan: Tamarin has always envied life of humans, being outside of forest in these big cities with majestetic architecture, complicated hierarchy and opportunities of getting power and adoration. This is why he left dull life of Dalish, endless hunting and camping outside, yuck! He was travelling around, posing as city elf as well he could, looking for those opportunities to get himself name and some coin. Peace meeting seemed like good change to get know the important people so he went there.
No idea how well this will fit but I will make it work somehow! XD
So I went back over the fic I had written last night about the first meeting between my Quizzy and Cullen. Since I wasn't very happy with it, I edited it, and also changed and expanded it in some areas, and then I decided to just make it into a longer multi-chaptered fic/series. So uh, here's the (new) first chapter, if anyone is interested.

:S I'm really not sure how to write Cullen at all. I'm trying to get to know him better in my head, if that makes sense (lol that sounds kinda weird and creepy), but I guess the only way I can get better at it is practice. If anyone has any suggestions on how I can do better, that would be very much appreciated! I'm so rusty when it comes to writing fiction :S All I've been writing the past few years has been either school papers or game design stuff.
So you guys came up with your Inquisitor's background story?
Lesriel "Lex" Lavellan---a rogue, she grew up listening to tales of Warden-Commander Mahariel, and played at being a Grey Warden. These childhood fantasies have made her curious of humans and the other races, though she is still wary. It's why, when she is made Inquisitor, they call her Lex. She didn't share her real name with them, believing it was too intimate for anyone not from her clan to use her name. She is generally a good person. and will try to help where she can. She doesn't understand the rules of "the Game", or any other political intrigue. She will rely on Josephine a lot. Ultimately, she is a fighter. She wants to protect others.
It will not escape her notice that while falling in love with Cullen, she is emulating Mahariel: a Dalish elf, in love with a former Templar.
Oh, the drama.
Lex is my main Inquisitor, and she'll be the one getting all the fics.
I've never really talked to anyone about my PCs. It's nice.
Just out of curiosity because I'm not sure if any other countries do this, but do any of you do mo-vember in November?
I had to Google that. To my surprise my country does monovember since 2012 but this is the first time that I've heard of it. Apparently it is a popular thing among ice hockey players. I *knew* that I should watch more sport. LOL.

Being neighbours, it's pretty big here too Boom.
However, I have never participated because I have never be able (or wanted to) grow facial hair ![]()
EDIT:
Also Vamp, congratulations on the birth of your baby boy
Hope you are both well and can't wait to see the pic ![]()
I'm not in the thread for, like, a day and there's word of bad juju happening? What?? What have I missed? D:
Where do you see bad juju
?

I've no idea, I was reading back a couple of pages and saw words of R2 being away/leaving? And something happening to Avejajed? *frets about everyone* ;n;

I've got little bits and pieces in mind, but I haven't decided whether I want my first Inquisitor to be elven or human.
Smooth Cullen is decidedly sexy.
So you guys came up with your Inquisitor's background story?
I have bits and pieces of ideas for different characters. The only one I have a more solid personality idea for is a human rogue, who I don't think will even be my first playthrough. ![]()
I just like the idea of a young bored noble who's a thieving dick under the cover of night. A little too privileged, a little too focused on himself and a little too snarky, he's a sweetie if there's someone in need right in front of him, but if not? He just doesn't think about it. Unless he sees it up close, the idea that people have it rough doesn't tend to enter his head. Gives him room to grow as a leader during the game. c:
So, I just noticed how realistically the characters facial expressions and movements are in DAI, I mean look at this! (I'd post Cullen but we haven't seen him talking yet... plus Dorian is easy on the eyes):
You can see the facial muscles move from one expression to another, it's awesome!
So you guys came up with your Inquisitor's background story?
I usually come up with a little history and let the game do the rest. That way it's easy to adapt if it turns out I was wrong on some lore areas.

Goddamn, Dorian, you handsome devil...
Pulling myself away from the distraction that is Dorian's face, you're completely right. The facial expressions and the like are BEAUTIFUL, and it excites me to no end that the Inquisitor will be able to emote just as much-- I cannot wait to see the reaction wheel!

I find it really hard to go back to playing a silent protagonist now. I was recording a few bits and pieces from DA:O and the Warden's lack of facial expressions pull me out of the moment.

I think it's the lack of facial expressions and emotion more than the silence that bothers me. I can get really into the Persona games (and otome gams) fine, all of which have silent protagonists, but there's... EMOTION in both their sprites and the 'voice' of the dialogue. As much as I adore DA:O, the lack of emotion from the protagonist is what gets me. I'm admittedly way more attached to Hawke than my warden.
I mean I can imagine it all in, but there's a difference to having to headcanon emotions onto a character and SEEING them in the actual game.
Edit: for me, at least. I'm not discrediting anyone who is more than fine with how DA:O did things! ![]()

I think it was just a misunderstanding.

For me it is similar. I know what race, class and gender I would like to play but I will have to wait for the character creator. Usually everything comes together once I see my main character. Also, I think I'm in the minority here but I don't have a backstory for the Inquisitor. It works best for me to make it all up as I go along.
Another thing, I am still tossing ideas around for my fan fic and ran into a few problems regarding the political situation. I hope that you guys can help me with it. My memory isn’t the best because I haven’t played DA 2 for a while now.
