Good for you. I'm glad you're of such strong mind - you know where you stand. Bravo! Now, rather than simply dropping your opinion in here, how about you offer up a discussion worthy post? If he's so bland and dull I don't see why you'd care enough to come in here. Now if you have anything in particular ABOUT Cullen to debate, please stay and discuss. But if you're only demanding to have your inability to understand alleviated, I see no reason to answer your questions. No one owes it to you to explain why they like Cullen.

Judging by the aumont of time they talked and the screentime, they had roughly the same role. If anything, Cullen's role as Meredith's second in command and at the end of the game is more relevant to DA2 then Merril's in DAO.

We LOVE having visitors! It keeps things fresh! We've all gotten to know each other so well here, we really have. I probably know more about some of these ladies and gents than I do my own co-workers or neighbors. So it's neat to have people added to the mix. We also love the opportunity to share our love for Cullen and explain some things. As I'm sure you know, we're pretty passionate about that.

 

That said, I do have to ask that you not come in here and be insulting towards us with your questions. It's common courtesy.

I'm thinking Viv, because of her pro-circle stance. With Solas I can see it going either way depending on how careful Solas is about magic. I definitely don't think he'll get along with Dorian.

Being sold for a camel/goat/cow isn't a complicated backstory.

Merrill was a more than just a side-character, she was albeit had a very minor role in the plot.

Cullen was a dude who stood in the hallway and then doing the same thing later on, but not on his own will.

In DA2 the was the knight captain of Kirkwall,a position that he acquired,mainly due to his experience with abominations and demons,after the events of Broken circle.

He also witness first hand,the effects of red lyrium on Meredith,and is present during the annulment of the circle.
We also learn,from his character interview that he rallied,what was remained of Kirkwall's Templars and maintained order in the city.
So yeah,I'd say that he's been more than a side-character.
However you are not required,to find him interesting.Now in Inquisition,you'll get the chance to know him better...You end up liking him,good.
Otherwise, there are other characters that might be, your cup of tea.

See, I think you might be right, but I also wonder how sketchy it'll be at the very beginning, because Cullen's a lifelong templar (Well, pretty much), and Solas is a lifelong apostate.  It'll be sort of cool to see either or both of them overcome their preconceptions.

I would say Vivienne because of her circle background, but it would be interesting to see Cullen getting along with Solas.
