Hahaha, he might be invincible too. They haven't said he is at risk of dying, just haven't said he isn't either.

I'll bet you they get us thinking Cullen can do it all, invincible, perfect missions for him and then this one time.... BANG!!    he not coming home :crying:

Or not! Hopefully not!

So I just discovered Sebastian's DLC was originally going to be a Nathaniel DLC and they changed their minds. I am slightly sulky now

I dunno, if all the templars are truly addicts, then if the withdrawal symptoms are strong or unbearable enough, then maybe that's why we have Red Templars? At least, some of them anyway, not all of them. But I didn't think about Josephine and her connections, oh good. *relief* This means my Quizzy won't have to tie Cullen to a bedpost or something while she goes off to find a solution/more lyrium/a cure. :P I did say my thought about his crisis point was farfetched. although I don't really think my Quizzy would need an excuse to tie Cullen to a bedpost *whistles*

I think it is a given that the Chantry used lyrium to control the Order. We know that Alistair definitely says as much, and I know Evangeline says something like, "Once you're in the Order you can never leave," when Rhys comments on her being addicted to lyrium in Asunder.

I think the advisors might be able to die? Although I'm just going off of the E3 demo and the cruel cruel clifhanger they ended it on with Leliana and the knife to her throat and the look in her eyes. But if they can die, then I think as players, we'd have to try really hard to get to that point? Since the advisors are super important and all. It would definitely make the game a lot harder if we could lose our advisors in some way. Say you lose Cullen, so your troop numbers start diminishing because he isn't there to lead the armies in your stead, or if you lose Josephine, you start losing resources and alliances because you can't meet the requirements for trade and political deals she had made, and if you lose Leliana, it becomes extremely hard to keep an eye out on what's happening in the different regions, even the ones you have control of, because you've gimped your intelligence branch.

But again, I'm only going off of the E3 demo. I don't think that they advisors can die, because again, they're super important and they seem necessary to the gameplay as far as running the Inquisition goes.

Umm I'm kinda hoping we may need to do this, but for a different reason... ;)

I was thinking maybe those templars sought out the red lyrium to increase their current abilities, I wouldn't be surprised if they did so because of the mage-templar war and wanting an advantage over the mages. We'll probably encounter mages abusing red lyrium as well (red lyrium was in the demo at Redcliffe castle, no?).

I'm starting to believe that maybe advisors can die but are harder to die than companions because of the significance to the game play. I think you're right as well, losing an advisor will really take a toll of the inquisition and the impact on game play. You will probably find that certain missions will not only be offered but maybe even non-achieveable, as in you might be able to get the missions but never able to complete it.

I'm thinking I might start a list of theories and when the game comes out I can see how far off or close I was to getting things right.

No way! Where did you find that out at?

I think I'm like the only person who really doesn't like Sebastian... as in I really dislike him. I don't care if other people love him cause honestly, my game play doesn't effect others and vise versa (I don't get the hate some people are like on here)

Part of it is all the Chantry stuff and the way he carried on and on when the Chantry was destroyed. Fair enough he was upset but man I wanted to punch him in the face to shut him up (sorry don't hate me! I liked him at first, honest)

My problems with Sebastian is in his writing. I have nothing against the Chantry stuff, but it feels like the writer fell into religious stereotypes with his character. He acted like a blushing virgin who couldn't even handle hearing the word 'sex' when his backstory is that he'd been a hard partier and prone to sleep with all the ladies before his vows. So that character inconsistency irked the hell out of me.

Then there was his raging at the end. I understand his anger, but to take an entire city state to war to track down a man that doesn't even come from Kirkwall and logically won't even be there by the time Sebastian gathers that little army?

Seb, pls

You're not the only one ;) I have no problem with his devotion or anything prior to Act 3. My issue comes with his attitude at the end. His vow to bring an army into Kirkwall. I'm right here brah! You don't like my decision, fight me like a man. If you win, you get what you want. If I win, you have your honor at least. I get that it was probably a mechanics thing. It would have been another boss battle, but it rubs me wrong. What kind of good leader answers war with more war? If he is mad at me and Anders, fine. Come after us. Leave the innocent people out of it. Sorry to anyone who really likes him, just my opinion on why I don't. :(

I tend to presume everyone can die, betray you, abandon you, etc because well its bioware  . The theory is if im expecting everyone to do all the above it wont come as a nasty shock if they should. The theory doesnt sadly work for me at all, as everytime im horribley surprised and caught unawares. My suspicious tendenancies fail me!

I loved Sebastian but I agree his little tantrum at the end was a bit much...threatening to bring war to Kirkwall just t get at Anders, and after expressing concern that the Divine would bring all the innocents into war if she called a march on Kirkwall, a bit hypocritical.

I quite like seb, i find hes like most bioware characters, he has some traits i really like and then theres some things that rub me the wrong way. But i get that with almost every char. I like to drag him around a lot, the banter is amusing, mostly the others mocking him, but he takes it in good grace. I often wonder if hes pulling a bit of a merill, playing dumber than he is.

Perhaps. I think it was more a matter of falling into religious stereotypes and there being no time to properly check that crap, though. I mean it could have easily been fixed by giving Sebastian a 'been there done that' attitude, rather than a 'I HAVE BEEN FLIRTED WITH I MUST PRAY' attitude.

Despite the myth and rumour, those who are spiritual and religious do not instantaneously combust when flirted with or when they hear 'scandalous' words. And Seb was a big raging playboy before the vows, anyway.

I secretly hope that it was just a tantrum. That once he left and had time to calm down, he realized how ridiculous he was being with his threat and that the Grand Cleric would be disappointed in him. Not saying he would give up on bringing Anders to justice, just that he opted against all out war. *fingers crossed*

Yeah we all say things we regret or don't mean in the heat of the moment so it could very well be just that :)

I never kill Anders. My Hawke's too selfish to kill his LI. Shove justice, he's lost enough.

And besides, I like how potentially unhealthy that relationship can get for my boy. It adds story--!

I can't. One because we stab him in the back, bad form Hawke. Two because I don't 100% disagree with what he did. And three because I blame Vengeance for it in the first place. If killing him killed Vengeance and set Anders free finally or if I knew that Vengeance would end up taking Anders over permanently, I might have done it. I would have bawled like a baby though. :crying:

I think him being like that might be because he was playboy earlier though? Like someone flirting with him reminds him of how "sinful" he had been and makes him feel guilty? And he might feel even temptation to return in his ways so that's might be why he's being like that instead of being calm about it. Like maybe he's still doubting his resolve and place in the Chantry ^^

If we could convince him to return to being a playboy prince it would have been my favourite DLC of all time

I would believe that more if it wasn't such an irritating religious stereotype and he acted with the maturity he's, at least, supposed to have. Ignoring the jokes that can be made about how he would have slept with Hawke if he was still like he was before, I think I honestly would have preferred his character more before the vows. Angry? Partier? Sleeps around? ANGRY? Sounds like a pretty interesting character. Shame they couldn't focus on that more after he took his vows rather than 'lololol blushing chantry boy!' :/

Alistair, who was the actual virgin and blushy chantry boy, was written with what felt like more maturity.

Personal opinion, of course. The religious stereotypes involved just have me headdesking. Often.

I know this is a little late, but I'm going to make my Inquisitor at around 22-24 years old. The first play through will be my Mequisitior who will be somewhat inexperienced (so she/I will definitely feel a lot of stress when it comes to making decisions) who is sorta learning on the way. Then every subsequent player will get older, as well as the difficulty level B )

Don't feel awkward, my favorite Hawke (sarcastic rogue) rivalmanced him too ;)
I was hoping for a political marriage alliance when she became viscountess, sigh...
