I wonder if getting companions to get along is going to be as much like herding cats in the last two games.

If so, I suspect Pirion will be thanking Vivienne for the old perfume bottle that he repurposed for splitting up mage - templar conflicts.

It definitely does seem to have its own rules.

From what DG said in Ashe's interview, red lyrium has a somewhat different purpose than the blue. That being said, red lyrium seems to seriously supercharge Templar powers, as well as warp them significantly (Meredith). Perhaps it's ability to grow/self-awareness is similar to how Meredith was able bestow animation onto the Golems in Kirkwall.

This just reminded me of having a childs perfume making kit when I was little. The amount of times my dad went to work smelling like strawberries or oranges

I wonder if many of our companions are the fragranced type?

That is my daughter with her daddy! He goes to work smelling good and looking fabulous! His nails are always sparkly and hot pink.  Dorian and Vivienne definitely strike me as the fragranced type!

I don't think Cullen would easily betray Inquisitor but I don't think it's impossible either. Cullen has always been loyal, but maybe too loyal at times which is why he defended Meredith so long although he started to have doubts about her as well. However in the end of DA2 Cullen went against Meredith and I think that can be taken as betrayal. I doubt "new" Cullen, who seems more determined and self-confident would follow blindly Inquisitor no matter what he/she did, otherwise I don't think he would have grown at all as character between the games. I would like him at least heavily question my decisions if they go against his morals, it seems like advisors won't leave but I would love him to disaprove in other ways.

 

To me, Cullen disagreeing with the Inquisitor, refusing certain orders, or even leaving the Inquisition as a principled stand is not betrayal. It's simply having a mind of his own, and I hope that at this stage Cullen is strong enough to take a stand if something is happening that he disagrees with.

 

Betrayal to me would be deceiving the Inquisitor, doing things sneakily, undermining the Inquisitor rather than just speaking his mind, or abandoning the cause at what he knew to be a crucial moment that would lead to others getting hurt. That's the part I can't see Cullen doing.

 

I do hope he would at very least question an Inquisitor he thought was making bad decisions, and maybe even refuse to go along with it.
