Sure do. Have for a while now. And there's nothing been disproving my theory as of yet.
Not even the 3/3/3 split?

I'm confused about this temporary companion idea. Why would they do that? And who was one in the past so I can relate my thoughts?
Mhairi was, so were Jory and Daveth. And I suppose Carver and Bethany could count too.

Wait, you think he is instead of Cullen? (I sure hope so!)
There is a piece of concept art of DHMG standing in such a way that leads the mind to think he might be an NPC. Or a villain, because of how his eyebrows were. I do believe, however, if we have a 3/3/3 party composition, then he will be our third mage.
On the off chance we only have two mages, then I believe he will be the uber-important NPC. But that's looking unlikely at this time.

All of the Origins had their temporary companions. Jowan, Lily, Gilmore, Gorim... Merrill!

I still maintain that in a 4 LI game (when the romances are known to be a popular feature with the fans) it seems somewhat ill fitting to have one one in a non companion spot. They may be doing this, they may do this excellently, we may have some details wrong about the assumed party members or a larger pool of LI to drool over but if we have only 4 it seems an odd choice.
Morning all.....'moving on' yup, still no good at it!
I support that notion ;] Seriously, I know that a lot points towards him being non-companion but it seems iffy that the first male li would be one. So I am positive. #joiningtheclub

Good. At PAX, Jessica mentioned that the world is so big that she once got lost whilst exploring, and, since I have a terrible sense of direction, I was worried I would never be able to find my way. At least the map will make moving around a bit easier. Also: MAP CONFIRMED

Not really. If we operate under the idea that Cole has been cut, since we've been pretty confident of that for some time now, they need a new rogue. And Beardy, though not originally conceptualised as such, could easily fill this role if they were concerned about balance. And it's not like it would require much change to his background or storyline, especially if he's a Sigrun-esque rogue. And to explain that since you didn't play Awakening to my knowledge, I believed Sigrun to be a warrior for the longest time. But nope, rogue.

This is also a great point. If there are only four LI's, then I would say that's great evidence that Cullen is a companion. If there's more, then that's another story.

There is no such thing as 3/3/3 split. No one ever confirmed that. If you believe it, that's fine i wont go as far as convincig you.
I think Cullen, Scribe Lady and Leliana will be some sort of leaders/advisers....

I know that it sounds silly but before I saw the sword/dagger on the flaily hands guy's back I thought it might be Rhys incognito, hiding behind a fancy tash ![]()

It hasn't been confirmed if it's readable though. Imagine another Skyrim map, where everything is covered by clouds.

The PAX panel kind of did though it's been called into question. Even so, what was said doesn't really point to anything else.

I did play Awakening, but just once. I found it kind of... weird... kind of railroading my character into this position. (I hate when forumers use the "railroading" term but here it kind of fits for me.) Plus it was kinda boring since my LI wasn't around and all my friends were gone, too lol

DG also addressed this directly in the Thedas UK interview. Templar abilities are a type of magic, but require lyrium. Stop taking lyrium, eventually you lose the ability. Alistair acknowledges this in the comics as well.I already had a headcanon that Templars were just another form of hedgemage. Can't connect with the Fade like a full mage but still has latent abilties. The chantry just hides by saying that the ineligible don't have the "discipline" to be a Templar. The lyrium just makes their abilities more potent and Alistair says that a Templar doesn't NEED the lyrium to use their anti-magic, it is just easier and more powerful. Just like a regular mage and using lyrium. =p
