Ok so just a thought I had. In an interview I heard that the human mage was a noble from the free marches in the circle and it got me wondering. What if the inquisitor happens to have been from the circle of Kirkwall specifically. Maybe Cullen recognizes the inquisitor if they are a human mage. Just a thought, I'm probably wrong. I have no clue if someone else said this already, it's almost impossible for me to keep up.

Do you guys mind if I ask an embarrassing question?
Believe it or not, I've never gotten Cullen running off before in DAO. It's pretty obvious he's sexually inexperienced. Do you suppose he still is? I can't imagine him availing himself of the Blooming Rose and certainly not fraternizing with those under his command. About the only thing I can see is him having an "understanding" with someone in Kirkwall. But I can also see a Cullen who has been celibate for most of the last ten years. Sorry, all this Cullen stuff is new to me.
While I don't think Cullen is quite the stuttering, stammering guy we met in DAO, I think he's still a virgin. I don't think he's unaware, like Alistair was, it's just the demands of being a templar would be so that he wouldn't have a relationship. There are those templars that do marry, but I think Cullen is/was pretty dedicated to the order.

Do templars have to stay, uh... virginal? I mean, wasn't Aveline's first husband like... Were they celibate then, or what?
I hope he's a little experienced, for what his age is. I guess not that I judge if one wouldn't be, but insofar as my personal preference would go. I don't want another Alistair and I'd like to see Cullen do some growing up from the other games in a few ways, I suppose.

Not to pick on you, or anything, but why does having sex always have to correlate with growing up?
I see it brought up whenever we have this discussion and it kinda bugs me. Like, being a virgin doesn't mean you're still a child. It just means you haven't had sex yet, for whatever reason.

[WAVES HAND] It's okay. It's just, you see something enough times and eventually something's gotta give. ![]()
I can understand wanting an LI with more experience, but I don't know if Cullen will ever be a smooth operator, no matter how many times he's had sex.
My own tastes fall in line that I hope he's still a virgin, but because he's just had other things to do. I've come to realize that this all goes back to my being asexual--I'd just like to see characters who've put sex at the bottom of their To Do list, and more stuff just keeps getting added to the top.
That said, I'm fine with anything in regards to Cullen's virgin status. It's really not that big of a deal to me. Well, not unless there's like a quick-time event where if you fail Cullen accidentally knees you in the boob or something. ![]()

I'm inclined to think he hadn't gotten around to it, at least through 9:37, for lack of opportunity. Married to the job. I don't really care, as long as he's stopped stammering. He should be able to handle flirting by now, whatever his history.
I agree. Sometimes jobs/schooling/whatever just gets in the way and people dont have the time for relationships and, Im sorry, but he doesnt strike me as a 'hit and go' kind of person.....also....the whole fact that just because he's a virgin makes him an Alistair 2.0 bugs the heck outta me! I mean, I'm a virgin, myself (just using me as a reference cuz that's the best example I can pull), yet, with that statement, it almost makes it sound that now I'm just like every other adult virgin out there. Just because he may be a virgin doesnt mean he's another Alistair , either! There are a plethora of differences between the two.

I don't really care whether or not Cullen has had sex. I just hope the game doesn't make a big deal about it either way. I loved the innocence of the Alistair romance, but these are older and wiser characters. I feel like Cullen and the Inquisitor should be mature enough to accept someone having or not having sex in a matter-of-fact way rather than dwelling on it or getting worked up about either party's sexual status.

I agree with Phate Phoenix because I just don't see him putting the effort into a relationship while in the Order and I don't think he is a "hit and go" guy like Shadow said. I've always seen him as putting his duties first and himself (relationship etc wise last).
I think Brianne was tweeted once about this and said to the person they should ask Cullen

I just hope it remains completely optional about this. Like if the inquisitor doesn't inquire about it, than it never gets discussed kind if deal or at least, it doesn't come up almost every single romance scene.

I could manage to only get one day off... because I'm... sick that day!
I don't get holidays (as in I can go away when it's a normal working day) because working at a school I get 2 weeks off during the terms 3 times a year (not including Xmas holidays which is 5/6weeks).
UNFORTUNATELY, the week it comes out, is the week I go back to school ![]()

Late Brianne clarifies that "well that sort of thing" meaning we'll have to wait so hopefully you can (maybe not directly) but don't have to.

I can relate to this! I'm a soon-to-be-transferring student, and I actually decided against Fall/Winter 2014 enrollment in favor of Spring 2015, partly so I can work and set aside some savings, but also partly so I can play Inquisition without any academic distractions. ![]()
Also, it's great to read that other people aren't too attached to the idea of a blushing, stammering, fleeing into the hallway Cullen. That was cute in Origins, but I think it'd be rather odd in Inquisition, no matter how much or little experience he may have had with romance/sex/etc.

I still think he may be awkward flirting with or starting a romance with the Inquisitor because I can't imagine him ever mixing his duties with his personal life. And yes there is some down time but I'm sure it's not just going to be on down time. I hope he's not completely over the top suave kind of guy now though

I see Cullen being a little awkward at first and stammering and blushing a bit when the romance is new, but I don't see it as being anything extreme at this point.
I think he has a shy side but I don't think he's socially impaired or anything.

Awkward I get. I am not expecting or hoping that he'll now be acting like a PUA (smell that Drakkar...). I just think it would be equally extreme and un-realistic for him to be like this after so many years.
There is a tendency in entertainment to mis-characterize people in religious orders, even fictional orders, as being entirely unfamiliar with "worldly" or "fleshly" matters, when in fact, reckoning meaningfully with those issues is more often considered an aspect of spiritual living, not something that is categorically shied away from. Just a sensitivity of mine, perhaps, but there it is.
