Here Cullenites, I made you a thing

Awkward I get. I am not expecting or hoping that he'll now be acting like a PUA (smell that Drakkar...). I just think it would be equally extreme and un-realistic for him to be like this after so many years.
There is a tendency in entertainment to mis-characterize people in religious orders, even fictional orders, as being entirely unfamiliar with "worldly" or "fleshly" matters, when in fact, reckoning meaningfully with those issues is more often considered an aspect of spiritual living, not something that is categorically shied away from. Just a sensitivity of mine, perhaps, but there it is.
Haha love that vid! I think as well templars were having sexual encounters with mages and I assume other templars within the circles so I very much agree with you ![]()
I just don't see Cullen as the type to engage in one of these encounters with 1) a mage (esp after DAO) or 2) while on duty. Though I don't believe he would have a quicky with another templar because he seemed more focused on his duties during DA2, however, we never saw him as anything but on duty in that game so who knows!
Asperath, I totally agree with your reading of the situation, and I can't wait to see how it all pans out in the game. I think that Cullen's journey within the narrative serves as a parallel to the main character's own- each has to find their place within a relentlessly expanding universe, without the luxury of time. It always struck me as uniquely awesome that there was a non-playable "side" character in a game whose story was just as perilous and meaningful as the PCs. That's what made me really like Cullen. ![]()
Ok so just a thought I had. In an interview I heard that the human mage was a noble from the free marches in the circle and it got me wondering. What if the inquisitor happens to have been from the circle of Kirkwall specifically. Maybe Cullen recognizes the inquisitor if they are a human mage. Just a thought, I'm probably wrong. I have no clue if someone else said this already, it's almost impossible for me to keep up.
I don't think mage Trevelyan will be from the Kirkwall circle strictly for this reason -- they always want to make it accessible for people who haven't played the previous games, and having Cullen go "oh hey, I know who you are" when a good number of players won't know who he is won't make sense, nor will having him not recognize a Kirkwall Circle mage. Plus personally I really don't like the idea of shipping Cullen with any mage who was in the abusive Kirkwall circle, blech. I'd probably have to turn my planned Trevelyan first Inquisitor into an Adaar.
On the other current topic of conversation: I was legit bummed when Brianne said "that sort of thing" was going to come up. I'd really been hoping they'd just left it unsaid. But I'm totally not going to be able to resist asking him any "Investigate" option that isn't very obviously a bad idea (cf. Alistair's "hey let's just leave Ferelden to rot" option being the only thing left to ask him for most of my DAO playthrough) so I'll just have to deal with whatever canon turns out to be in that regard. As someone who's spent long stretches of time working 80 hours a week and completely devoted to my career, I don't see it as that unrealistic that Cullen might not have had a serious relationship (especially considering one might expect him to have some serious intimacy issues after being tortured by desire demons for however long). I'll be fine with the alternative as long as we don't have to hear too much about whatever relationships he's had (looking at you, Carth "'You remind me of my wife' is an awesome pickup line!" Onasi. Even though you are my favorite).
Do templars have to stay, uh... virginal? I mean, wasn't Aveline's first husband like... Were they celibate then, or what?
I hope he's a little experienced, for what his age is. I guess not that I judge if one wouldn't be, but insofar as my personal preference would go. I don't want another Alistair and I'd like to see Cullen do some growing up from the other games in a few ways, I suppose.
Templars doesn't say wow's of chastity like Chantry sisters and brothers do. In DA2 for example you find out that some of the templars are regulars in Blooming Rose. However I wonder if Cullen has been so work-oriented that he hasn't had time nor intrest to relationship and sex.

I'm so sorry I can't stop laughing at "wow's of chastity" please don't fix it.

Quick, I'll distract him. You hide the doges. Hannah, put up the booze. FRATELLI, behave!
Okay, let's repeat this so I make sure I have the plan right: Chachi distracts Fratelli with a doge. I give Allan the booze so he'll behave.
Got it! Thunderbirds are go!
