I'm a veteran of the Miranda thread--the one that got an entire section of the forums locked down. You guys are angels.
Angels? Like, the a** kicking, crime fighting, kind of angels?

@R2, I'm starting to think that if the Veil truly does disappear, the dwarves will be able to dream again. Perhaps even begin to use magic again, like Sandal does.
Oh, I like that theory.
"One day, the magic will come back. All of it. Everyone will be just like they were."
I wonder if there was a time when dwarves could use magic?

Yes. But, as I said, my little Panda friend, this is the "Cullen Thread". If we can discuss Mage/Templar and manage to slip in some Cullen here and there, like, "MAGES MAGES MAGES TEMPLARS MAGES and ohhh, How do you think Cullen would react to (X)" or "TEMPLARS MAGES TEMPLARS TEMPLARS and What do you think Cullen's position is on (X)", then, it is relevant enough to keep discussing. But, seriously, there was almost no Cullen for 4 pages! 4! PAGES! I get stir-crazy when that happens.
That's still more on-topic than we often are
However I'm free discussing about Cullen as well of cource ^^ I just think we have exhauste most topics directly related to him.

We need moar info!! Or even better a vid with him talking! (i needs too see how they animate him! For science..... honest)
That's written in her character kit, actually.
I was wondering, what would Cullen be like, if Uldred's rebellion didn't happen? Would he get disappointed in the order sooner? Or maybe seeing an abomination during somebody's Harrowing eventually would have been enough to make him realize why the templars really exist?
I think that if Uldred`s rebellion didn`t happen Cullen`s empathy towards the mages would have last longer and even if something would occur, like a mage becoming a abomination during the harrowing, that would make him more wary towards mages, it wouldn`t make him so convinced that all mages are a danger cause it wouldn`t be an event as traumatic for him like Uldred`s was. In this scenerio i could see him joining Thrask rebellion against Meredith (of course that if Uldred`s rebellion didn`t occur Cullen`s transference to Kirkwall may have never occurred).
I wonder how patient Cullen is going to be as a character. Will he tolerate a lot of mistakes from the Inquisitor, or will he be exacting?
I hope so! I can envision my inquisitor making a lot of mistakes
.
We have been waiting Greg Ellis video for ages now... Maybe it's because it has some new information about Cullen that devs don't want to give us just right now so they are still keeping it for that reason?
Contact with family should be encouraged, but may be impractical in many cases given the tech level.
I would also point out that it can also be extremely difficult to get a family to continue interacting with a person they perceive as dangerous. Just because the family is being encouraged to maintain contact with the mage doesn't mean that from their end, they would even be willing to do so.
From Patrick Weekes' tweet, it's safe to say the first two will be available and I think number three is present in the form of screw them all.
I really hope there's a compromise option, not take one side or the other or else just walk away from the whole thing. There's a lot of middle ground here.
I would tend to think a middle ground position would be what Cullen would advise the Inquisitor to take. In DA2, although he's obviously on the templar side, he seems to respond more favorably to dialog and decisions that are middle-of-the road rather than favoring either extreme. Given what happened with Meredith, I would think that as of DAI Cullen would be even more likely to favor some sort of compromise rather than digging in for the templar side, if compromise is one of the options.

Whole Thedas except from Tevinter seems to be quite anti-mage and many families sadly react badly at their child being mage, like Wynne's case for example. I think that Chantry should stop spreading this info about dangers of magic and if mages could freely live among other folks they would also see them as normal persons rather than just some dangerous one's living far away from their minds. This would probaply help with family issues alot, I change of attitude I mean ![]()
I think that Cullen would lean more in middle ground as well but I wonder what his exact vision will be in Inquisition and will it even keep evolving during the game. For example he defended Tranquility quite much in DA2 so I wonder if his views are still same regarding of it or not.
My personal utopia for mages is mandatory boarding school with some templars acting as guards, not jailors. Family visits and vacations would be okay and after they have mastered their magic and learned what is safe uses of magic and what is forbidden one's that should be avoided, they could freely leave and go home or build their life as just regular folks or even folks with magical talents (and work as healers for example). Rest of templars would act like police force, just trying to capture criminal mages not the one's who haven't even done anything yet.
Hrungr posted this interview in the twitter thread and around 5:19 ML talks a tiny little bit about Cullen ![]()
Huh? It was totally civil, and it's still relevant to Cullen.
I didn't see any wrong with mage-templar discussion.
I think it's pretty intresting discussion, quite in topic as well and we all are still friends right? XD

I literally cannot think of an aspect of his character that I haven't discussed... multiple times lol However, there are new members in the thread who perhaps haven't said all that can possibly be said, so no reason we can't reopen some of those conversations.
I know the thought is, "We need more info!" but I think we've gotten all the info we're going to get, honestly.
If there is a compromise option, I really hope that comes with its own drawbacks.
I just wanted post a few Cullen/Amell pics that I thought were just lovely .
Those are beautiful!!
I didn't see a signature for the first two; they're by http://wei723.deviantart.com/
Boredom is good for no one. Especially when I'm bored. Found an older tweet I think was referencing Cullen. ![]()
