This is where my most character names are from if someone's intrested: http://www.20000-names.com/

I like how you can browse categories of names in different countries and how you get to know what names mean :)

Thanks. Website looks helpful. I found a similar website the other day but I forgot to save the lik. And no it has dissapeared somehow.

I'm hoping a mage Inquisitor is from the Montsimmard Circle, where Vivienne is from, rather than from Kirkwall.

Considering most of the mages in Kirkwall were insane blood mages, I don't especially want to play as one who hails from there... :P

Doubt it. Why send us to Orlais when there are 5 Circles (4 after Starkhaven burned down) in the Free Marches?

Mind you, did they say that we were from a circle in the Free Marches, or just that we came from there? It's possible that we may have got shipped off to pretty much anywhere.

lol most of mine will be romancing him. I have a plan though, whether it pans out remains to be seen though lol.
Human and elf females get Cullen at least first time round. My Qunari gets Iron Bull and I am hoping Varric is a LI for my dwarf if not she will ride the bull! fun fun lol
I plan at least 2 runs for Dorian and Sera. (Sera might take me a while though cause you know...Cullen ;) )

I am hoping the human mage is from Kirkwall, if so I will play that first. Cause I would love to see the dynamics between her and Cullen. Probably wont happen but I can hope. She will be a bit of a neutral in that she would like mages to have their freedom but accepts it will never happen, so she would have strived for fairer treatment in the circle, but she would have abided by its rules. Therefore not gaining an ire from Cullen but she may have had a few dealings with him. Outside the circle she will fight for other peoples rights and do what she feels is fair.

So far,I only have one characters that I will romance Cullen with (ok maybe two).
But the romance system, sounds more complicated this time,I have no idea whether my inquisitors will end up romancing their preferred LI.
Personally,I'd like the human pc to be from Wycome, but I don't know whether they have a circle there.

True. Gaider said we simply were from the Free Marches. I'd still like to hail from a Circle that we haven't seen yet.

I wonder if it'd be still possible that we are from Kirkwall's circle? That would make intresting twist ^^;

I'd say that presumably we were at a circle in either Ferelden or the Free Marches because of our accent, but that doesn't hold water since we can have an American accent AND Vivienne was based in Orlais and has no trace of an Orlesian accent.

Soooooo, yeah. I guess we could be based anywhere. Maybe we'll get to choose which one?

I was wondering, whether the human mage was transferred to an orlesian circle. This is an interesting possibility.

Stark Haven was destroyed early into DA2 right? So we probably won't be from there, or at least we weren't when the circles rebelled, lol.

Yeah, it was burned down by the mages there.

That's one down then, lol. Do we know where in the Free Marches the others are based? Aside from Kirkwall?

I doubt we'd get to choose necessarily which Circle we hail from. I had headcannoned for a while that we escaped Dairsmuid before it was Annuled, and that we were the ones who carried the news to Fiona.

If the human mage survived Meredith's tenure, I think it'd make a romance very difficult. It's one thing for me the player to sit back and be objective. It's another thing when you've actually had to live it.

I just think it would be a nice little twist of fates for one. Cullen once having control over you and now she's the one he has to take orders from. How will he overcome that. Not to mention the guilt he might feel knowing what she would have suffered while he was oblivious and turning a blind eye to. How do they see past all that and still make a romance work.

It probably wont even happen and may be too much implement though.

My guess is that it's one of the three we haven't really interacted with. Ansburg, maybe.

If I didn't have to worry about being fair, I'd love to be an enchanter posted to Kirkwall to help rebuild the Circle. Never really met Cullen or interacted one-on-one, but we've seen the scars the city bears.

It would be the perfect origin for one of my characters.Plus they love wine!

For the awesome parties! Its got to be a fun life in a city-state that is second only to the Orlesian captial in wine importation.

I'm 33 and my oldest is 13. She has tried her hand at DA2 and she loves the story but has no patience for the gameplay. Not too long ago she rather bashfully told me that she's into yaoi stories - no sex, just the romantic stuff - that her anime series she watches has exposed her to. She said, "I kind of... like stories that pair so-and-so together even if that's not how it was in the show". She seemed to expect me to be... I dunno. She was surprised when I told her I understood and that it wasn't so different from my Dean/Cas shipping or other homosexual ships I have and that I read it and write such myself. After that she was all chatty about her ships and it was sooo adorable! The next day she brought me a cut-out of Cortana from a Game Informer magazine and she'd written on it: "I'm so glad you're my mom. If I had a different mom, I would kill her and go find you."

Now that's a message of true love! :D And yay for your cute daughter! Fujoshis unite!  ^_^

I like Ansburg  :P .There are mysterious socks.

In my career as first enchanter of the Circle of Ansburg, I have lost 208 socks of various and sundry description. Utterly. Without a trace. Ser Mallorick, the templar who supervises the Circle's laundry rooms, assures me that this is a common natural phenomenon.
Hogwash, I say! It is physically impossible for an article of the material world to vanish completely and leave no signs of its passage. The only rational explanation, therefore, must be that the disappearances are magical in origin. This, I hope, will be the definitive treatise on the subject.

I set upon my research with the following premise: Since it is a well-known fact that objects of worldly origin cannot travel between places on Thedas without crossing the intervening distance, then socks must originate in the Fade itself. They are emanations of some spirit projected into the waking world and whimsically recalled when the spirit desires.

I therefore devised a plan to observe my socks over a period of eight months; I hid within a sock-blind so that I might catch them unawares—both in the physical realm and in the Fade—and hopefully witness their natural behavior firsthand.

Hm, gosh... so let's assume that we were based in a Free Marcher circle and narrow it down to 3 since Starkhaven is out and it's pretty likely that Kirkwall is out too. Sooooo, Ansburg, Markham or Ostwick.

Looking at the map I think I'd like to come from Ostwick, since it's right by the sea like I am in real life, LOL!

I wonder if the Dalish mage might get access to a Keeper tree...

I could be wrong about this, but I could've sworn it was confirmed that you will not be a Keeper??

What I wonder though, is what if we can't have our Inquisitor behave goofy? I mean, I know when it comes to Alix Wilton Regan she can nail that type of characteristic easily (like she did with Traynor) but what if that's not an option in DAI? At least, not frequently?

I know what you mean. My first inquisitor is very serious; my goofy one isn't until my second playthrough. I hope I can actually play him that way. I really want their personalities to be different since they'll be the same gender and race.

You know, Lola... After I cut my hair short and was left with no more colored hair, I SWORE I wasn't going to dye it again except maybe to highlight the plain dirty blond color. But I've been itching to do it black again. With red tips this time! Lol! I may lose this battle. 'Tis a shame we can't do similar things to our Inquisitors. Lol! I think screen caps of Cullen kissing a goth-looking Inquisitor with extreme hair color would be a little wonky looking! But I would do it! Oh YESSS..... Hehehehe....

My hair is pink right now, so... the battle has already been lost lol

I would loooove to give my inquisitor cool hair colors; I love doing that in Dragon's Dogma. I have an Arisen with blue hair and one with pink hair.
