Well you guys are very positive. If I may speak candidly, I was expecting the sort of people who hold up *Edward* Cullen as a model of romance and that I'd find no place to discuss my mixed feelings.
The fandom's never been like that to my knowledge! I think a lot of misogynists talked trash about the fandom and it earned a bizarre reputation it never deserved.
Disappointed abt there being no freckles in the CC,I must say.
This is devastating, and I'm not even trolling here. Kael Lavellan is a freckled redhead 
and I won't be able to show that in CC.

I know on my first playthrough I am going to be a human female rogue (for an absolute neutral baseline, gotta figure that one is good). And I will romance Cullen with her.
And then... I will make 40 or so different characters to find out every minute difference lol.

Edited to add: My inaugural post is due to go out tomorrow! and then every other day I will have posts about things... mostly games because i really am a geekly gamer type.

I know what im like, as soon as i see the CC, my original plans will change entirely! Like in origins i really fancied an elf, but regardless of what i tried and how many times i played the intro i couldnt find one i liked. Then for giggles i rolled a dwarf commoner, warrior (usually my least liked class) and she was plain awesome! Loved her to bits!
So these days i stop myself from plotting until i actually get in game and get a feel for what would be fun

Yes, I asked this on Raptr because I would love to have freckles on my Inquisitor. Mr. Darrah said "maybe on presets". So I really really really REALLY hope this comes through. My Trevelyan must have freckles! XD

As an aside and off topic, I was looking through my characters for Dragon Age (both Origins and 2), and I have Mage Hawke names Vivienne (post campaign, 9/6/2012) - snerk. Looking over my characters it made me realize a) I have sunk quite a bit of time into this franchise, and 
(b...) I have soooo many playthroughs of DA:I to get all these imports and find every tiny minute difference >.>
DA:o: 10 +1(twice) in progress
DA2: 15 +3 in progress

Same here. I can't pre-plan characters in any great detail, at least where this series is concerned. The type of character I make will likely depend on the results I get after messing with chargen. A face will emerge, and I'll go, "Aha! That's her (or, rarely, him)!"

They were probably not coming out right because I remember Mr. Laidlaw saying they were trying really hard to bring in freckles into the CC. Texture probably wasn't working out. I know they tried to do heterochromia but the UI was freaking out. It is a new engine, so they're still figuring things out.

Ahh, yeah, perhaps. I know they've given it their all. Hopefully it is one of those things they are continuing to work on. Seems like if freckles are only available for a preset face though then they won't let you change much about that face, otherwise freckles would be a general option.

Not really. The way CC works, in general, is they give us "layers" I suppose, while the NPCs look like they have custom skin textures that can, in theory, be painted in one layer (or rather, can be given to the modelers in one layer).
With the layers in CC, the freckles would have to look right with all the skin tones, all the makeups, all the age overlays, all the scars. 
And I'm only basing this off what I've seen of the previous two CCs, and the very little I know about 3d texturing.
I guess my longwinded point is, is that I think the NPCs have a different rig/set up than we will with CC so comparisons aren't necessarily applicable.
~And please take what I say about this with a grain of salt. My 3d texture experience is pretty limited and none of us really know how they're doing things this time around.

And also, a universal thing, like freckles would need to be able to look good on all the races, too, who's faces are all gonna be different sized. I firmly hope they can do it though. I need some freckles on my Inquisitor. Need.
