What is the first thing comes to your mind when you think of Cullen?

 

I'm not sure, I think there is no such expression in English or the same meaning, but...

And also, a universal thing, like freckles would need to be able to look good on all the races, too, who's faces are all gonna be different sized. I firmly hope they can do it though. I need some freckles on my Inquisitor. Need.

Same here. I'm positive they aren't just holding out on us, like the freckle patrol. My Quizzy needs freckles too!

Lol, nothing shallow about them. When I first see a hot guy, I think about bangability, not personality.

Not really. The way CC works, in general, is they give us "layers" I suppose, while the NPCs look like they have custom skin textures that can, in theory, be painted in one layer (or rather, can be given to the modelers in one layer).

 

With the layers in CC, the freckles would have to look right with all the skin tones, all the makeups, all the age overlays, all the scars.

 

And I'm only basing this off what I've seen of the previous two CCs, and the very little I know about 3d texturing.

 

I guess my longwinded point is, is that I think the NPCs have a different rig/set up than we will with CC so comparisons aren't necessarily applicable.

 

~And please take what I say about this with a grain of salt. My 3d texture experience is pretty limited and none of us really know how they're doing things this time around.

 

Good point! I know in the ME3 CC, the freckle skin tone made the freckles look like moles instead. I had to go into Gibbed to place a different texture underneath the freckles to smooth them all out; so now she looks like this:

Just throwing in my somewhat limited knowledge on texturing, I haven't gotten too far into model texturing but I have learnt quit a bit, particulary last term in Intermediate Maya.

 

Diffuse map is the color, Normal map is the...bumps (giving model a type of texture or height depending on colors, I won't go too far into it) and a specular map (shadows, light reflection, etc). Other maps and masks can be added, or course.

 

The reason ME3's freckles looked too raised is because of the normal map, it was VERY bumpy so they looked as though they stuck out too much, which is why I extracted the freckle norm and smoothed it a bit in photoshop.

 

I really don't understand why freckles would be that difficult to add. It can be done by modders, I've seen some really good freckle mods for DA and ME. Oh well.

I actually would get the game on PC since you can use a controller... I'd mod Dorian's mustache away and maybe a different hairstyle... give Solas hair...  etc. etc. but I'm pretty sure my five year old laptop can't handle the game.

I had heard that people were going to try and incorporate some modding on console, particularly Xbox...wonder what happened to that.

 

In fact someone asked me here on BSN a couple years back if I could give them the source files for IRS Alistair, because they wanted to attempt to convert it for XBox 360, but I had lost my builder files.

Iron Bull has been confirmed to be romanceable by Male and Female Inquisitors of any race. Patrick Weekes has further clarified to say IB is pansexual.
