We have seen blood magic repair the Veil before, as demonstrated by Avernus. What is stopping people from simply using blood magic to fix the problem? What is so special about our Veil mark that it's necessarily a better option instead of using BM?
Avernus' skill may no be widely known and the villain's tears may be of a special kind. And it's always possible the power the Inquisitor has is drawn from their life force.This question has been bouncing around in my head for quite some time:

I'm wondering...what with Varric's picture changes and now this tweet, do you think they are gearing up for a reveal from him...like one of the last romances?

I think it was mentioned somewhere that they were going to update the older pictures to show off more how the game looks now. But for the life of me I can't remember where. (And Varric's were really old. I think they'll do Cass next.)
Also, please correct me if I am wrong (which I probably am) but; In Awakening and Witch Hunt, didn't you fix Veil tears by simply attacking them? I remember in Awakening you were in the Fade (when you meet Justice), had to fight a few demons and touch a pedestal or something, but once you were brought back you had to 'attack them' and they disappeared. And in WH, when in the Tower, you simply had to attack the tears and they went away. Or am I completely off? xD

Yeah basically. Only I am thinking if the ones in the fade in Blackmarsh were the same as the ones that were popping up out of the fade and in witch hunt. Were one of those anomalies and the other tears, or were they the same.

@DAEanders6 mostly we'll be updating the screenshot galleries. Some of that stuff is pretty old, and the game is prettier now.

It might be the case of the sheer quantity of blood required. 1 tear is easy to fix, tears everywhere and the breech itself? Were gonna need a whole lotta sacrifices.
Also when we see merrill using blood magic in her recruitment quest, several people state she summoned the demon to use her blood magic. If the demons want to come through the veil they would prob not be keen to lend their power to having the rifts closed.
I dunno, just chucking round ideas, hopefully they'll explain it in game

Going back to earlier, I agree that these tears are probably something 'new' all together! Perhaps the red lyrium has something to do with them? Or maybe red lyrium showing up in such majority at the same time is just a coincidence?
And with complete speculation, who/what do you guys think the Big Bad is? A crazy powerful mage who wants control? A demon? A powerful entity like Flemeth? I honestly can't even begin to think of an answer for this.

I agree that the red lyrium is either the cause of the Veil rending, a symptom of it, or it helps to further destabilize it.
I think the overarching Big Bad (not necessarily the endgame boss of DAI) is a cosmic entity like Flemeth, that is playing a chess like game against her.

Congrats on new baby! Also- you've got twins! I was obsessed with being a twin when I was younger- I had myself half convinced I had a twin who had dramatically been kidnapped at a young age. And her name was Elizabeth. (As mine is Jessica you can imagine I overdid the Sweet Valley books growing up.)
I'd love to have twins. My cousin just announced she was pregnant with twins. We're all very excited!
