I wouldn't be surprised if it is some detective/thriller game. I remember a Interview with Casey Hudson and they asked what kind of game he would like to make if it were up to him and he said he'd be interested in a game were you play a detective.

EA are sending out emails linking to that trailer.
More supernatural thriller than horror i'd say. Either way, i'm intrigued by what i'm seeing so far.
They're talking about the email for the new trailer, there isn't any beta for it. No idea what the game is about yet, we'll find out more at Gamescom.
Thanks, guys! I'm not sure how I feel about this. I don't like horror or contemporary stuff. I thought from E3 that it was going to be sort of sci-fi, post-apocalyptic, so I'm a little confused. Guess we wait and see!

LAST CALL
Well, pretty much. I just found out that some of y'all are completely unaware of the Chant of Light Project we've been working on! Our goal is to make a video featuring us reading the CoL all around the world. Everyone who wants to participate just picks out one of the available verses, records it (with as little ambient noise as possible), provides name (alias or otherwise) and location, and then bam. You're part of history.
I know a few of you were wanting to see what verses were left after the masses flocked in. If you're one of those, please get in touch with me if you're still interested.
For the rest of you - if you're interested, or just want more info, shoot me a PM! We just need 14 more people to have each verse read uniquely.
EDITED for a little Cullen on top. Nnng, that face.

My take is that it's fantasy RPG but set in modern day. Like a what if sort of scenario where our world is suddenly overrun with supernatural elements. Though that's mainly from the website of the school thing. If it wasn't for that I'd be thinking more superhero.

Well, BioWare don't just do RPGs so it could be some other genre. Personally I don't think it matters either way, they're still making their two staple RPG franchises with Dragon Age and Mass Effect, so it's not like the company is giving up on their winning formula or anything.

Hmm, that could be sort of cool. What's that called again... ahh, urban fantasy! I would love an urban fantasy RPG. Cause I'd wanna be a werewolf or faerie guy or something ![]()

Yeah I'm sure it's an entirely different team working on this. And I for one am STOKED for ME4. Thing about BioWare is you know it's going to be good, whatever it is. I do hope the new IP is an RPG, otherwise I may not be likely to buy it. I've kind of become hooked on RPGs only since playing DA ![]()
In the short term, however, it's bad news for DAI at Gamescom!! Was it Aidan Scanlon (sure I spelled his name wrong, poor fella) who said to get ready for something big at Gamescom? I thought it was DAI related, but it might be this.

They do have their sci-fi with Mass Effect, I guess they don't want to get stuck in one genre and burn out? Same goes with fantasy. I think we haven't seen enough in the trailer to say 100% about what it is anyway, so we'll see I guess.

The new project being talked about is not from the teams at BioWare Canada, and is not the new IP we revealed at E3...

Chances are it's the team that worked on Mass Effect, since they've handed over the new ME to the Montreal devs.
*Edit* Scrap that.

Lol, I'm not entirely sure how you can be happy about the new IP from the Edmonton BioWare devs not being the "Chosen" thing, we don't even know what that game is about. You can't base anything off an obscure live action trailer.

I'm happy the post-apocalyptic-looking IP at E3 is apparently a go
Sorry if I've offended in any way!

Well there's still a chance for a full on fantasy/sci-fi/post-apocalyptic/Steampunk story. I'd be happy with any of those, so long as the sci-fi isn't as sleek and shiny as ME and the apocalypse was caused by something other than zombies or nuclear war.

I know I submitted but now I'm worried the sound quality is too crappy and it's gonna sound bad alongside the rest.
At least I chose a really, really short verse. ![]()

Hmm I'd be okay with nuclear war of some sort (Tuchanka sort of situation) but yeah, no zombies, thanks LOL I like to stay far away from zombie and vampire stories.

I'd just rather have something new from an apocalypse. I think it wasn't so long ago Dodger made a video complaining about over saturation of zombie stories, and while I agree, I'm much more sick of nuclear war apocalypes.

Huh. Wonder iff it does have something to do with the TOR expansion then. What with the whole Woods-Watson school/Courtney Woods and Tait Watson connection.

It's true there've been a lot of bad post-apocalyptic TV series on of late.

I think ever since Fallout 3 I've noticed a huge influx of post-apocalyptic everything. Very few have a unique world/take on the themes they are trying to explore. Sad, because there's so much potential.
