EA will stream both, their press conference and stuff from the exhibition hall. It says so on their website. Apparently, there will be a special website just for Gamescom, something like EA@gamescom 2014-Website. It will go online one week before the Gamescom starts, that's why they haven't posted the proper url yet.

Good evening! Apologies as this isn't really Twitter-related, but since some folks are asking: I attended the last G&S demo and panel this afternoon, and can confirm no brand new information was given. The demo was the same scenes from E3 (run by Hilary Shapiro and Jessica Merizan, both wonderful!), and the q&a afterward was (paraphrased, as best I recall):

-Describe mud / blood / terrain physics? When wading through mud, or across a bloody battlefield, you'll see it on your legs, and running through mud can affect your movement.
-Game imports will be going through the Keep; from what I understand, it sounds like it will possibly be able to recognize your DA saves on PC and load them into the Keep, as well.
-Tactical cam is for consoles as well as PC.
-There were a couple general questions on companions and advisors; the gist is that new characters and returning ones alike were developed with an eye to making it feel they have a life of their own-- e.g., Josephine is carrying on with her own life and interests, "getting up and having breakfast" even if you aren't there to see it. This also may involve relationships between characters, good, bad, and possibly romantic. Returning characters were pulled in because they have a stake and arc in the story, not simply to show up and wave hello. Basically, no gratuitous cameos for familiar faces, and non-static, living personalities for all-- it sounds great.
-Banter began as a means of filling loading screens, the "time between content"-- it has definitely found a place now as content in its own right. There will be banter, oh, yes. Interjections by the Inquisitor also available on occasion.
-A question if the PC version of the game was optimized for the Mantle API was met with a "we can't say", followed by Jessica Merizan saying they are running it on (I thiiiink) an AMD R9 290x GPU, but it would run well on other cards, too (and consoles).
-Last question was whether the Hard and Nightmare difficulties would be less difficult than the DA2 versions. The reply was they do their best to scale reasonably, so that succeeding in a rough fight makes you feel good and clever, and not furious with the game. That said, Nightmare is returning, and is self-descriptive.

I hope this helps a little-- as a disclaimer, I didn't take notes, so this is just what I remember-- my apologies if I misstated anything! There was definitely a professional camera set up in front, so I would be surprised if it didn't turn up online later. (Also: the cosplay was SO GOOD! The pictures can't do it justice, all the folks in costume were terrific!)

Apostate mage? Damn, here goes my headcanon.. Did they give more? Are qunari quizzys part of mercenary group or something?

But the real question is (for me at least): can a qunari mage romance Cullen?

Hmm, we don't know yet whether or not Cullen is race gated. The only reason I can think of him not wanting to romance a Qunari would be for religious reasons but since we won't be part of the Qun and could very well have belief in the Andastrian faith--if that's how we choose to play it--then him being race gated due to religious reasons doesn't stick.

Him not wanting to romance a mage on the other hand would be more understandable but we already know that there is no class gating so I don't think anyone needs to be concerned about that.

I hope that the concept of Qunari apostates is addressed in dialogue with Cullen;

 

Cullen: I must ask, how did you ever stay hidden from the Chantry?

Qunquisitor: It wasn't that hard, if you know how.

Cullen: But a giant, grey-skinned wo/man holding a staff? Are you saying that no Templars ever noticed?

Varric: Says the Templar who failed to notice Hawke was a mage / most of Hawke's friends were mages for over four years...

Morning everyone can't believe it's been such a long time without real news, they really spoiled us around E3...

 

I am still around dipping in and out but morning sickness has taken up most of my time lately, I've lost about 6 pounds all of a sudden :/ I keep worrying I'll miss news but they seem to be keeping their cards close for the moment, so it's probably the best time to be sick

Yup, it took them roughly the same amount of time between recording Steve Valentine's video to posting it up. August will likely be when Greg Ellis' is finally posted.
