This issue worries me as well.  I would feel ever so much better if I knew that our advisors had some sort of change of clothes.  I don't even care if I'm in control of it or not.  It would be nice if they just changed their clothes themselves according to where they are or what they happen to be doing at any given time.  What are the chances any of the devs would answer such a question? Not likely, probably... :?

I doubt they'd answer too but I agree that a change of clothes would be preferable for all. Otherwise, pee-ew!

Thinking on it some more, I actually wonder if Vivienne's party happens fairly early on? Like, whilst Cassandra is still in-charge with the 3 advisors. So, Vivienne sends the invite and by that point as party members we'd only have Cassandra and Varric (because he's bound to be one of the first recruited since he was travelling with Cass) and by that point our protagonist is either still just Cassandra's little drag-around or newly "Inquisited??", we attend the party and Cass wants us/we can to try and recruit Vivi, doing so (should we wish) giving us our 3rd party member so that all our 3 slots are filled for when **** hits the fan, lol.

I mean, would Vivienne really invite the full party when the people she needs to get closest to would be (at that point) the 3 advisors and Cassandra/our protagonist (depending on whether we've been given the role of Inquisitor by that point).

The down side to this party being early in game though is that we may not have enough time built up with Cullen (or other LI) so... no swooping romantic dance off.

Damn. Again, Cameron said that we got the mark because we got "blasted into the Fade". Perhaps merely getting thrown in there by the Breach was enough to create the relationship we have with the Veil, with the mark as a physical manifestation of said relationship. It still makes me wonder why we alone are thrown the Fade and no one else was.

Damn! Also, CL said that we get powerful enchantments for our stuff via closing rifts.

Totally not like the Sigil Stones in Oblivion... ;)

I think there will be more than 1 party though. Viv's fancy party sounds like an introductory mingle to me. A way for the player to be brought up to speed and get to know the first bunch of companions. If there is any dancing or romance I think it will be saved for the winter palace myself.

Presumably the characters bodies each have their own separate file, right? Like, Cullen's helmet outfit is likely a completely different body/head setup to his non-helmet outfit body/head setup. In which case, they could just either make him a third casual outfit body/head setup, or if the body and head are separate files (like in DA:O and DA2) then just stick his head on one of the many casually clothed npc body files that they have available.

Mike Laidlaw did say when he was joking around on Twitter "revealing" Cullen spoilers that "Cullen sometimes wears armor". Now, whether that's just an obvious fact, or that in-game sometimes he doesn't wear armor is anyone's guess.

It's just one of those details that I can't be sure they'd see as important, even though it actually feels very important to me as far as overall experience goes.  I remember ML tweeting that, and I hoped at the time it meant that either Cullen does wear something besides armor sometimes or that at some point all that armor is going to come off in its entirety.  Either way would be fan-freakin-tastic, but damn it I want BOTH.  ;)

Maybe they were and they just didn't survive? The Inquisitor might have had an affinity (explored or not), maybe he/she was in the perfect spot for it to happen, or other factor. I'm getting the feeling the Inquisitor's is a one in a billion shot requiring a specific set of conditions to happen, but there you go, it happened. We are a super special snowflake. :D

The part that I love is that whoever caused the explosion and the Breach unwittingly created the tool of their destruction at the same time. You get the feeling the Maker loves dramatic irony?

True! Unless it can be used as a good flirting opportunity? Have a bit of a heart-to-heart with him in out in the grounds somewhere which could lead to one or two flirty comments and tension filled silences, etc. I wonder if Empress Celene's party is basically the party that Cameron mentioned Vivienne throwing, so it was basically her idea that she put to Celene who agreed that it was a good political move.

Unless we have two parties? Vivienne's and then later Celene's? In which case, the second party would be the ideal opportunity for any romantic happenings with Cullen or your chosen LI.

I think there will indeed be two parties.

Two parties... I didn't think about that. Seemed like too much to wish for.

As a side note, still holding out hope for some intense non-verbal communication with our intended LI's.

Agreed, although they are aware that the DA2 companions lack of casual gear during romantic interactions caused a bit of an uproar, so maybe they will get casual gear just for the "sextime" scene?

I really like the idea of that! Viv's party would definitely be the perfect place to mingle, even if you haven't recruited the full party or is so early on that it's just you, Cass and the 3 advisors.

Y'know, having the chance to get to know the 3 advisors before all our companions start to come on-board does sound like a really good idea! I mean, we won't be made the Inquisitor immediately and we do seem pretty suspect just stumbling out of the Fade like that whilst everyone else at the peace gather was totally annihilated, so spending at least a small amount of time getting to know the advisors and, in turn, allowing them to size you up is a good move especially as it seems that Cass initially decides to keep us around for whatever reason.

... I bet we'll be her bloody lackey initially though, running errands for her and the advisors:

Cullen: "Trevelyan/Adaar/Cadash/Lavellan, could you help me polish my sword?"

Protagonist: "... I thought you'd never ask!"

I can't help but wonder if Flemeth has some part in us surviving? Simply because she's saved our protagonist's arses before in the previous games. Or maybe we'll encounter her whilst in the Fade and she helps us out of it? I dunno, I just feel like she needs to go with tradition and lend a hand, LOL!

Or, what if they reverse that trope, and have Morrigan save us instead? I'd love to see Morrigan gain her own dragon form.

I was just reading the Solas/Varric and Dorian threads and they all mentioned SDCC and a Tumblr poster that was there and spoke to Patrick Weekes about several characters including Cullen. It may well have already been posted in here and i've missed it, or you've already read it in the other threads. Iff so, apologies for re-posting.

I personally hope this isn't a thing... Not to sound rude to anyone. But while the small crush on the Mage warden was cute...I think it would seem a bit unhealthy if he was still upset over 10 years later. Still, guess it's a good thing my canon warden is a Cousland so I'll never know unless I look up YouTube vids about it!

Inquisitor gets pushed into the Fade... which happens to be a portal into Flemmeth's kitchen.

Flemmeth, standing near the coffee pot in her fuzzy robe and nug slippers with her hair still in curlers looks at you over the rim of her mug... squints with irritation and sighs:

"You're early."

*boots you in the keister and back out into Thedas*

Patrick Weekes said: "He also mentioned that he didn’t understand why they hadn’t announced the last two romances, but the marketing team insisted there had to be some mystery."

From that tumblr post. Interesting.

Amen! It's been well over 10 years nows, and while it's nice that he has no ill-feelings towards her it's high time you moved on buddy. One word about her to my Inquisitor and she's jumping on the Iron Bull.

... Which is weird because my Warden is me and my Inquisitor will also be me. Jealous of myself? That's a first!
