Oh, I can easily see a character being double gated, so long as each race/gender at least has one option for a straight and gay romance.

To be fair, though, Seth Green thought the Joker/EDI idea hilarious (and I'm pretty sure the whole thing was his idea, he was pushing for it even before ME3 came out.) I guess he thought fans would find it as hilarious as he did.

Yeah I hated it, too. It made Joker seem like a creepy pimply teenager, and though I was just getting to know the character, it felt like a very juvenile move on the part of the writers. (Not a mistake DA writers would ever make methinks.)

The truth is, we don't know enough about any of them to reasonably guess who would be race-gated.

Oh okay. Well that's nerve-wracking. I really hope Cullen isn't one of race-gated one's, he's already gender-gated, that should be enough.

I believe it's been stated that romances are being made more true to life. So it wouldn't surprise me to find out that Cullen is also race-gated. The Gaider tweet said that the 2 unrevealed LIs are not race-gated, if I'm understanding it correctly. Which would mean that the race-gated LIs are among those that have been revealed.

I hated it. Not only did it make me somewhat dislike a character I once loved, but the whole 'hurr, the cripple can only ever have his computer' implications were pretty damn cringe worthy. I know someone with the real life equivalent of what Joker has, and he sure as HELL did not find Joker/EDI cute. :/

 

And I say this as a Trekkie who had nothing against Yar and Data. It's just different when the normal human side of the Advanced AI/Human pair isn't disabled and 'lives' through his computer/ship because moving is difficult.

I'm just being careful because when we asked Seth Green about Joker's romance status he also said we would be "very happy".

And we weren't. Far from it.

So past experience is telling me to keep my feet on the ground, but to go ahead and hope. XD

1) Oh man, I had no idea. Dammit, Seth Green!

2) YES WHAT ABOUT PS4. That is laaaame! Although, on psn before they changed the release date, you could pre-load DAI 5 days before release so it's ready to go on launch. Haven't looked since the date has been moved. Still, pre-loading and PLAYING 5-7 days before launch are two totally different things! Maaaaan. I love my ps4. Freaking Microsoft! >_<

I have cerebral palsy and I hit the ceiling when I first heard about Joker/EDI. I don't even particularly like Joker, but he's one of the few good disabled characters I've been exposed to.
