That wouldn't tie into race gating though. They've said they don't want to force us to have certain religious beliefs.
And you still wouldn't be forced into religious beliefs. It would simply mean that, perhaps, Cullen wouldn't be the LI for you. And, really, if you didn't share the same beliefs, why would you want to enter into a serious relationship anyway?

I still highly suspect that Cullen is race-gated to humans only. Maybe also Viv because of her political standing?
Flail indeed! If he's an LI it will be awesome. Solas and my mage Quizzy will stay up all night talking about magic and the Fade. I can see them having tons of things in common. (Ah, headcanons are wonderful).
Because he can get a crush on either the Human or Elf Mage in Origins, I don't think it would make sense for him to be barred from elves. And honestly, I'm really hoping he's not one of the two race-gated LIs. If anything, I'd put my money on Vivienne and Varric if they're the last two LIs. Or possibly Sera, Solas, or Dorian, but that might be stretching things a bit. And I'm more likely to think Dorian wouldn't be because of his character unless it was something like what was talked about earlier in this thread.
*plants head on desk* But as long as Cullen can be romanced by my female elf mage, I will be happy. If not well... the chances of me romancing him will go down the more restrictive his romance is. At least I will still have the hoards of fic I have written and collected.
In a more positive light, I'm very glad to see they're releasing those combat videos. I'd be very interested to get a closer look at skill trees and how to use the tactical camera. I was rather envious of Origins PC players for that and I hope to make proper use of it on the 360 version of DA:I since I am better with planning and careful strategy than heat of the moment decisions. (See: How I fare in Turn-Based Strategies vs FPS- Basically amazingly awesome vs well it's 5 second in and I'm already dead...twice.)

But it looks like we have 5 or 6 trees, so about 50-60 spells plus upgrades.
Because he can get a crush on either the Human or Elf Mage in Origins, I don't think it would make sense for him to be barred from elves. It seems like dwarves and qunari will come out short with the race-gating, though. I don't see any of the characters being gated to prefer Qunari (and reject the other races). But if Varric is a LI, it would be possible to have him be gated towards dwarf only.

I think it's because people assume she's going to be pro-Dalish and pro-elf in general but she's probably more about looking out for #1 and possibly more caring about the slums in general, not just the elves.

no - I nearly always play human females exclusively. Though I believe i will try a female dwarf for a playthrough this time.
I like meeting and learning about other races better than being them.

Agreed. But who knows, she may not like the Dalish at all, (I don't personally think she will however). While we don't really have much to suggest she'd be race gated, I don't think we should rule her out entirely.
Oh yeah I definitely think she won't give a rat's arse about the Dalish lol Which should make her veeeery interesting for my first two Dalish playthroughs (though I may nix one or shuffle those around since I don't want to romance Bull twice in a row).
