Oh BTW I had yet another DAI dream last night! No Cullen this time though. Just that there was all this sushi, and each type was made from a different companion. All I can remember is that Dorian's was the most expensive. And no thank god I did not eat any of it....
Oooh that reminds me I had a dream a few nights ago that was normal until Cullen randomly entered. So there was this new craze that literally everyone was talking about, but I had no idea. I think it was called 'kinetic surfing' which confuzzled me a bit because isn't the kinetic part sort of mandatory with regular surfing? So I had no idea what it was and I was asking everyone to explain it to me and they were all just like 'B!tch please, you know what kinetic surfing is!'. So I decided to go home to my old house and Cullen was there and explained kinetic surfing was a sex thing and was going to show me and then I woke up.

Oh good. I'll be going two archers myself since I also don't want to change what Sera is. So three ranged and one melee. I've done it before with mages, but it can't be that different with rogues, right?
I don't see why it'll be a problem! Especially with a tank to take the brunt of the force. If anything, two DPSers should help take down things quicker. ![]()

I'd recommend a good tank like Cass specced high in constitution.

Aww, this is lovely! I saw a WIP on Aimo's instagram, and it's great to see it finished!
Meanwhile this woman wrote Cullen smut with a little doodle illustration. On a train, during a rush hour. It was a bit awkward, lol. Chat folks and tumblr buddies probably saw it already.
At first glance I thought her hands would be in his pocket... but when I looked more closely I came to the conclusion that that is not his pocket

I'll be running Me (Mage and Damage Dealer), Dorian (Buff/Healing), Cole/Varric (with daggers), and probably Cass/Bull. I...might give Bull a shield.

Oh I hardly ever leave the house without a tank. It'll probably be alternating between Cassandra and Bull. I wonder if I could make another weird DPS/Tank hybrid like I did with Fenris in DA2?

For my first playthrough, with my Dalish archer, I think my main team will be Blackwall, Solas, and Cole. Sometimes I will include Sera in that party because I want her and my quizzy to be friends.

I ran a two rogues, two mages party in DAII, because despite how it wasn't that great for batle I was determined to see that Isabela, Varric and Anders banter... and I had a mage Hawke. ![]()

Lyrium Ghost made that possible, so not sure if it'd be as easy to make a 2H a tank in DAI.

I'm still dithering on which Inquisitor to run first, let alone the party.

Probably. I'm making all my warriors tanks, cause that's what I prefer.

I have no idea which Inquisitor I'll run first. It's just that, for some reason, my rogue boy has decided to become the most developed personality wise, so he gets the most mention from me. I really should hammer out what other personalities I want to run. ![]()

Yeah. With Bull especially. IIRC, Reavers rely on their health being pretty low, right? I didn't really play with that spec much if at all but that's how I think it worked. Ah well, I'd best get good at dodging when I go out with Bull.

Nah, Reavers rely on the amount of damage being done to them, not necessarily how much health that they have. Bull can have a bunch of health/high constitution, but still absolutely wreck with his Reaver powers.

But you want to be able to avoid heavy damage if you're a tank, only alternative is to be really tricksy and make the enemy miss a lot, like with Lyrium Ghost
Still I don't see Bull dying as quickly as non-tank Fenris.

Isn't the point of a tank to absorb all the damage for the group? Which in turn would exponentially raise the potency of a Reaver through absorbing all of that damage. Having a high constitution makes you less likely to die from sacrificing your health from powers like Aura of Pain.

On Skyhold, from PC Gamer:
"It’s detailed, cavernous, but more importantly, there’s more stuff you can do in Skyhold than on Commander Shepard’s ship. Past the tavern, stables, courtyard, kitchen, and dungeon (for imprisoning people, not slaying rats, I learn), I step to the War Table. Here, a dozen or so operation markers populate a world map: scouting missions, a task to gain the friendship of the dwarven kingdom of Orzammar or to recruit an arcanist. You complete these micro-quests entirely through the menu, and they grant modest benefits: gold, loot, resources, or adding more ‘agents’ who join the Inquisition. But some, like addressing the Chantry in Val Royeux, are tied to the main plot."
(I should say: I'm quoting from my digital copy, but everyone should definitely pick up the magazine if they can. There's a tonne of impressions and stuff about Dragon Age that I didn't mention here.)
There's also a long section on how the Inquisition can "pass judgement" on certain people as a result of quests - the example they gave was dealing with a barbarian tribe after defeating their leader in battle. The judgement sequences come after some story events and offer the player a way to reflect on what just happened.
"Laidlaw underlines the value on getting players to look backward rather than simply anticipating the next quest. “Inquisition, moreso than many of our other games, takes a moment to just ask ‘how you feeling?’ and have characters dig into why you did what you did. And to try to understand the Inquisitor’s mind. And they’re some of my favourite moments in the game,” he says."
From the PC Gamer preview:
"“Oh look, a dragon. What a perfect way to ruin our day,” my mage, Dorian, quips."
Mike Laidlaw discusses Dorian in the PC Gamer preview:
“Dorian, he’s fun. A lot of fun. He’s gregarious, outgoing, likeable and he’s from the nation that everyone thinks are bad guys.”"

Yeah it depends on what abilities he gets... it's not just about high constitution; you could give Aveline and Fenris the same constitution and he'd still die way more than her lol I guess Aveline probably had some blocking/dodging skills... I never paid attention to her build honestly, just maxed out all her sword and shield and her special tree lol

Oh, well, I had been thinking about giving Bull a shield, which would help the defense.

I assume he mentioned all the characters, not just Dorian, because someone posted his thoughts on Blackwall (from this same article) in the Blackwall thread ![]()
