I had a little thought that it might be Sera, seeing they said she'll be more controversial than expected, but that could easily mean within plot, of course.

 

I would certainly love the character to be a part of the Inquisition, but maybe they're an important NPC instead?

 

I actually wonder about Vivienne, as she is the one we know the least about (aside from the fact that she's utterly fabulous)... so if they dropped that bombshell about her, it would definitely be a surprise.

 

I might be completely wrong, especially if it turns out that none of our companions are transgendered at all, but if it is true... then that's just another reason why I've had the feeling that I was going to love Viv's character from the moment they first announced her.

I was gonna say that's not true, we know the least about Blackwall, but actually I think we are pretty even. Sure Vivienne's been marketed a lot more, but we still don't know their VAs, don't know their LI status, don't know where they're from originally, don't know ANYTHING about them.

Maybe it's silly, but I kind of like the fact that she and Freddie are super fans who play the games. I feel like they will be able to give their all to their roles, that they'll have such a core understanding of who their character is in the world.

Well I meant if they were to reveal a transgendered character from the women that we know will be in the Inquisition, it seems strange that while we've heard a lot about Viv's personality being that of an Iron Lady, Sera and Scribbles status as LI, personalities and VA have been released while they're staying firmly tight lipped about Viv's LI status and VA.

 

It is of course equally possible they'll reveal that one of our male characters to be transgender as well (and heck, as a spirit Cole is technically neither gender anyway), so it Blackwall or Solas could be contenders, given that we know relatively little about them as well.

I agree. Maybe you don't have to be a 'fan' though, just really do your research. I remember that story Gaider told on his tumblr about Rick Wasserman, the Arishok's VA, who got into a lengthy argument with the director over how a line should be interpretted just because he understood the Qun and the Qunari so well.

Oh yeah, definitely, and I don't mean to downplay those actors who aren't actual gamers or even fans; they still put out stellar performances. It's just comforting, beforehand, when you know they are. (And wow, I did not know that, good for him lol)

Oh! Yeah, I think she'd probably just done her homework and is aware of it. Especially if we get interactions with the transgendered character, so she'd presumably recall recording the dialogue for that encounter as usually the companions/other characters record their lines and the protagonist VO responds to them, like she was doing in that video with the Cassandra dialogue.

Well if there is, and she hasn't just misspoken, she's obviously aware there's a character who's transgender, so that probably means it's at least brought up.
