Hello! I‘m new here and English isn‘t my first language, which is why I always hesitated to post, because I don't want to make any mistakes. So I'm kind of nervous now. But I've followed your great discussions and theories for a long time now and I can‘t get better if I don‘t practice, so I decided to join you here :)

I‘m really happy that Cullen is a LI. He has much potential for development and I look forward to his story in the upcoming game! And I still hope that he is a companion. Sometimes I believe that he is a companion, sometimes I believe that he is a NPC. Whatever the case, I‘ve enjoyed DA:O and DA 2 and I‘m sure I will enjoy Dragon Age Inquisition and all the companions that game will have as well. I'm just happy that we get to talk with Cullen much more and learn many things about his life. His story could be really interesting :)

Welcome!

He should serenade our Quizzy! That would be both an awesome and completely effective seduction technique. ;)

Ok and now I'm being too silly! I will go and give myself a stern talking to and regain my composure. :)

With all the chatter about Greg (re, Cullen) singing and someone said something about Starlight Express, I went and looked up that production out of curiosity of what it was about. And the story of the locomotive, Rusty, reminded me of a Dora The Explorer episode. I wonder if that's a coincidence...?

And I'm totally showing my mommyhood right now, aren't I?

R2, did you ever see the link about GE's role in DS9? I found video of him rocking an American sound. :D

and caught up again.

I'm Canadian, west coaster with a not very interesting accent. Fun fact - I live about 10 minutes away from EA headquarters.

I will metagame massively and without shame. It's how I roll baby.

Did someone mention Orlesian Water Chicken hats?

Spoiler

Sorry, meant to say here: NEEEEEEDS THE PREECIIIOUSSSS ORLESIAN WATER CHICKEN MAGE HAT!!!!

Am I the only one who's mind went straight to singing in the shower? Just me, damn it!

So where are people tracking down all this wonderful fan stuff. I hadn't seen the ask Cullen blog before and it was just adorable. Does anyone know any other good sites?

:)

The ask the knight captain site hasn't been updated in forever. But the artist in that collaboration was hyperbali.tumblr.com. If you go to hyperbali.tumblr.com/tagged/cullen or /tagged/art (I think) she has quite the cache of fun Cullen art, usu featuring her Jeanne Amell. She even has a new one for Inquisition.

Quoting myself cos I'm just that awesome. ;D

I think this is Greg's first scene in that DS9 ep. He rocks a deep, gruff and American sound. But Ekoor, the Cardassian he portrayed, was listed as having betrayed the Dominion in retaliation for the destruction of Lakarian City, a Cardassian city and his first line is "That's for Lakarian City!" when he makes his move at 3:54. Soooo... yeah, I think it's him. https://www.youtube....h?v=DIOQJ-Qg8Cc

At about 8:20 his usual sound bleeds in a bit. :)

Edit: I don't know if the snippets in here are the character's only moments but it's the only video I could find of Ekoor at all, so...

Did you see the way she almost swooned onto him?! ;) :P

And then there's this:

It's from another video but it's the only moment you see him, really. He's a background character with a few lines. But Kira was totally swooning. ;) LOL!

I don't deny that Greg has an amazing voice or that Cullen singing is possible... Maybe it's just me... but I don't find the idea of him singing in character. It's just not believable to me. Maybe if he knew some hymns or something he found comforting that he sort of mumbles to himself when he knows he's alone - but I'd be more inclined to think he'd stick to prayers and litanies than songs. I just can't see Cullen singing without some serious arm twisting - like the Divine orders him to as part of a ruse of some kind or something. I dunno... Just not seeing it. But who knows? Maybe it's his hidden talent that he shares with the Inquisitor when he feels comfortable enough? :)

I'm sure that hymns are probably where his forte is, if you will. But I could also see him secretly having picked up a few bawdy songs from around Kirkwall.

I can see it now... sitting around a campfire... Varric's just finished up a tale. Everyone looks expectantly to Cullen, as he's next in the circle. He, embarassed, clears his throat...

Cullen: Well, um... there is this one song I *ahem* may have overheard at the Rose, while questioning the... um...ladies there...

Yeah, I couldn't imagine him just bursting into song in front of people or even being willing to sing publicly at all, but I think it could work if implemented in a way that's either done for lols (like the quest idea I had earlier) or if we happened to walk in on him quietly singing to himself or something to that effect.

Haha, I'm the same really.  Then again, there is a LOT that they could expand on with Cullen's character.  If they could find some way to incorporate it then I won't complain  ^_^ Greg Ellis has a damn fine voice, imagine that singing your inquisitor to sleep your keep (Major fangirling going on here).

For my part, I feel he'd probably blush that they even stuck in his mind, never mind admit he knows such songs. He may mentally perform them, tap out a rhythm as he's polishing his armor or something but sing them? Oh myyyy...

Well there could be a spell or something. A blood mage made him do it? Funky flower pollen? Purple lyrium? LOL!

hehehe... I feel you. Oh! IDEA! He saves a freshly orphaned little kid and brings him or her back to the Keep but the little tyke is beside her/himself with grief and fear. Cullen, noting that the kid had been mumbling a Chantry tune and recognizing it, starts to sing it really quietly for the child to calm them. It works and the youngster tells him that his mom used to sing it.

Oh man, I think even I'd go soft on that one and I generally don't like kids in games... except Clem, cos she's a badass!

A bit off topic but: Just taking a break from watching Supernatural and couldn't help but think that Cullen would have a holiday hunting demons in that show. xD
