Oh them's fightin' words! *puts up dukes*
I kid - I kid! ^_^
Tom kind of put me off for a little while in the first episode and I just never warmed up to him in that way. He was more like a buddy to my mind. I did like how he was with Harry. He turned out alright and his love of classic cars was endearing. I just never crushed on him. But Harry had my attention for a while. ;) And I was an ardent Janeway/Chakotay shipper. I never felt a thing for Seven/Chakotay. It seemed forced.

LOL totally agree. I was so sad when Janeway/Chakotay got scrapped (or maybe they never intended to go there; dunno). I ended up loving Seven in the end... But was more likely to ship her w Janeway than anyone else. LOL

Speaking of Voyager and Tuvok... I wonder what voices we'll end up stumbling upon in the game. I can only think of Tuvok when I hear Zathrian now. LOL

Thinking about it, that Redcliffe castle/Leliana torture scene was hugely spoilery, definitely more than I wanted to know. I would've loved to have seen that happen with fresh eyes whilst playing, rather than being told in advance. Now I know it's gonna happen I'll be planning ways to avoid it, so it's not gonna be quite so organic.

I dont think it was that spoilery tho.. cause that could happen to any of  our advisers depending on what we decide... and we also don't really know what mission/ decision triggered that, we just know  that somehow one of our peeps will get captive at some point in the game, but obviously we get to rescue them so thats a good sign imo

I noticed people were talking about what age they were going to make their inquisitors, and wondered if that was just what people plan to RP for their inquisitors or do we something about how that's going to work? I think I saw something about early 20s to 40 for inquisitor age but I can't remember where, and wondered if I'd missed some information explaining it. I had wondered if the vagueness meant the inquisitor would start at different ages depending on race and class with, say, an elven mage at the older end and a human warrior at the younger end.

Idk why But if there will be such a debate everytime before we go to missions I have a feeling that I will always pick Cullen's POV on the situation.. :P

I suspect I'll be incredibly tempted to do the same, LOL! I feel like I'll probably end up going Cullen over-kill in my first playthrough just because I wanna get as much interaction and face time with him as possible since we've been starved of it for so long!

I know I will too! just to make sure he loves me the most, and as soon as possible. LOL like I did with Alistair. man, I was flirtin' since Ostagar!

I believe one of the devs (MLaw?) said so on twitter, that we can make our character any age in that range.

As for what I'll do? TBH, I have no idea what the Inquisitor's background is supposed to be, so I have no idea what age will feel most organic. I'm less keen on being a greenhorn twenty something... But if we can romance, say, Blackwall... Well, I may be tempted by the May-December romance aspect. And finally live out my ill fated Duncan crush!

Gaider has said since that they had actually removed a crap ton of spoilers from that scene in order to utilize it for E3.

Agree; I didn't like Seven/Chakotay. But then I kind of always resented Seven because she replaced Kes :(

I liked both Seven and Kes. I just hated the way Seven was used to boost the ratings. Both Seven and Kes had a kind of innocence about them. It was different for each of them but it was used to the same end. I wanted Kes to stay on the show along with Seven because there just weren't enough women. I missed Seska horribly after she was revealed to be a traitor and left. *sigh* What could have been... Considering Seven's only recently established humanity and probable need to address her traumatic childhood, I found her and Chakotay's pairing kind of shady.

Similar to how I see the idea of Cullen and a circle Mage under his charge. The well being and proper function of the crew is the first officer's responsibility. At least is seemed so. And Seven falls under that umbrella. Given her challenges, I just felt the whole thing was icky. And the pairing itself seemed to come from nowhere, had no chemistry and was rushed. I saw him as nearly equal to Janeway and found their possible relationship more appropriate. Come to think of it, the Inquisitor and Cullen will have a couple of parallels to J/C in that regard. ;)

As for over the top, icky smut? I totally agree. I'm not a fan of extremes like that. Some of the things I've seen... *shudders*

Considering my Dalish mage is going to be my youngest inquisitor, this would break my heart lol

I think we're on the same wavelength on this one ;)

I agree; I hate that Seven replaced her. I know the actress for Kes wanted to leave, but I'd have liked Seven a LOT more if she hadn't been a replacement AND if they didn't obviously use her as straight male viewer bait. And you're right about her relationship in general; she's almost Cole-like, really. I'm not sure a relationship was even really appropriate.

Speaking of Seska, I also wanted them to flesh out the young Vulcan engineer character a bit more, and I wanted to see Tuvok's wife as well. But I have a thing for Vulcans ^^ (They are pretty elf-looking after all :P)

It's just more than I would have wanted to know since I was hoping they wouldn't reveal any info/spoilers on the actual plot lines. Like, I would have preferred to have sent someone in and then if whoever I sent in didn't come back in a timely fashion I would have enjoyed going in there completely blind without any prior knowledge of what I was about to discover, that way upon seeing Leliana/Cullen/Josephine being torture and the subsequent event with Alexus etc I would have had this completely raw mind-blown "holy sh!t!" moment.

See, for my first ever playthrough I like to play as myself to get the maximum emotional punch as possible, for me it always feels more memorable and organic playing as myself whilst not having the faintest idea what's going to happen from one moment to the next. So, while I like to know who all the characters are and all the gameplay mechanics etc ahead of time so that I don't miss any character, I like to keep the plot/quest/story aspect of things as spoiler free as possible so that I can get the most of the experience, (which is difficult because I have no self control, so when something leaks you know I'm gonna read it, LOL!)

I felt they were going to go with the J/C angle but decided it made Janeway seem too soft. Being the first female Star Trek captain came with risks the producers didn't have with a male and ANY time Janeway made an emotional decision she was derided for it and it was blamed on her being female. If she made a vary pragmatic choice that took a lot of fortitude to go through with, she was derided for being a "b!tch" and people would say "must have been THAT time of the month". In short, her decisions were almost always invalidated by people. Adding a relationship might have muddied the waters more than the writers wanted to deal with. But of course, the male fanbase was always griping about how Chakotay always got double crossed or used by women and he "deserved" a better relationship. So they gave him the "every male's fantasy pick" to make up for it. Janeway was duped by one male interest and she was blasted for being a "stupid woman always looking for a guy to fix her problems".

Sorry. I could go on... But suffice it to say, it was a thorn in my side. Janeway was stuck by the very misogynistic attitudes she was there to defy. It sucked. And I hated it.

As for Seven/Janeway? I can see why it appeals to people but I couldn't get past their almost mother/daughter relationship they had. Same with the popular Tuvok/Seven ship. But to each their own. Frankly I had hoped, she'd eventually wind up with Harry. They're both scientists and musically inclined. I thought maybe as she grew into her humanity, she might grow fond of Harry. But... I was in the minority on that one.

I'd forgotten about Zathrian! But it would be sooo cool to have more Trek cameos. Or... Star Wars... *gasp* James Earl Jones! Ha! I'd love it! One voice I loooove is Keith David. Until we knew who voiced Iron Bull, I had imagined he sounded like Goliath. *dreamy sigh* Now I'm thinking how neat it would be to run into everyone from Star Trek that also guest starred in Gargoyles. Jonathan Frakes! As an elf! Heeee! ^_^

*ahem* I'll stop now.

Like R2 said, you can create your protagonist to be within the early 20's to 40's age range. That being said, I'm sure the CC will let you create characters that look WAY older than 40's, you always could in the previous games.

As for my first Inquisitor, since she's going to be me she'll be 28, just under 6 months off her 29th birthday when I start the game in November lol... thank feck I look younger than my actual age, LOL!

Vorik? Yeah getting to know him would have been cool. He didn't start off so great, what with trying force a mating mindmeld on Torres - which lead to the usage of the "f-ck or die" trope in "Bloodfever" but after he was through his Pon Farr, he seemed intriguing. Elf ears not withstanding... ;) :P

You could also wait and see whether the context actually applies. How do you know you lead anything at that point? How do you know Leliana serves you at that point? Be careful of your assumptions... particularly when it comes to a plot that you're only half-seeing, and during which we removed any portions of the dialogue that were too spoilery.

wait you guys are talking about voyager now? bit off topic lol. I loved that show. Janeway is my fav captain. I loved seven, oddly i only became aware she was used as eye candy ages after id see them all lol (im oblivious to the obvious sometimes). I loved all the episdoes with the doctor and seven, something endearing about a mahcine teaching a cyborg how to be human.

So hrm that cullen.... ummm.... (something on topic  ) Oooh i know, ive been doing a playthrough of origins with karmas companion mod installed, i find it odd, because i dont actually want to talk to any of the companions it adds. I think its just because other people are guessing at their backgrounds, how theyd respond etc. I guess i just like to know the original writers take on a character rather than a modders. I dunno, anyone else get that?

It wasn't directly related to the spoilers comment, but:

I saw people discussing this a little in another thread but I'd like to shine a light on it if possible. During the DAI demo we see the Inquisitor try to tell Leliana to let go of the Magister's son, she doesn't comply and proceeds to slit his throat. She defied direct orders, now I know we won't be able to execute her for this but some punishment must be possible? Otherwise we're impotent leaders and deserve no respect. An Inquisition needs a leader that rules with an iron fist.

Well, I understand, not everyone wants to be spoiled.

And yes  that is some what of a spoiler.. I just don't think its a major one tho.. (at least not for me)

Personally I don't really mind spoilers, and  my 1st PT i go in as my self as well... but every time I do that either a lot of ppl die or  they leave.. Lol I remember in DAO  i went in blind and... lets just say things didnt end well with most of my companions :P I always manage to  screw things up even tho I meant well...or at least thats what I thought at that moment, but I guess other ppl don't see it that way...

So right now im gonna try to avoid those crazy situation... and I especially dont want to ****** Cullen off if I make the wrong decision... yes I know I am a cheater... but i want things to  go smooth :D
