New interview with Cameron Lee. Is this the first time they've actually said how we get the glowy green hand or have they said it before?
Yeah, he's said that before, but still a nice interview.

Caused by ancient magic? I don't think they've ever said that before... but it stands to reason that the Fade tear was opened up using ancient magic, so I guess the wound on the Inquisitor's hand is essentially caused by that since we got pulled into it, lol.
I wonder if what Mark Darrah said ages ago about potentially/optionally being part of the reason the veil tore open still stands? Or if they scrapped it. Like, for example, if you're a mage then maybe you have the option to unwittingly aid one of the "big bad's" agents with the whole peace gathering explosion by using your own magic to take part in it or whatever.
I actually first played a female mage origin recently (my mages were usually male since I had Morrigan and Wynne already). Cullen was kind fun to see him so awkward. Got a crazy head-canon in mind alread
This would be my ultimate facepalm moment in DA:I no matter how unlikely it is.
Quizzy: So, what can you tell me about Hawke?
Varric: Hawke? Great guy! Funny, heroic, handsome, god with the ladies and men, sh*t at wicked grace, couldn't hold his booze and had a singing voice that would make Andraste herself weep. Oh, he was a fine mage too. Never had to worry about him being tempted by demons or blood magic.
Cullen: Hawke was a mage?
Quizzy: *stares and blinks*
Varric: *facepalm*
And what would yours be, fellow Cullenites?
I see you played the sarcastic male, LOL! Mine would be pretty much that!
Haha I actually wonder if it will come up in game... he was so so oblivious

Lol, I couldn't play him any other way. Carver had enough broody testosterone for the both of them. Seriously, I hope Varric teases Cullen a little about their days in Kirkwall.
I'm so curious about what their interactions will be like. They obviously at least knew of each other AND they did fight together to take down Meredith, so already they'll have some common ground to start from.

I have always been interested in what Cullen and Varrics inteactins will be. They may not know each other on a personal level but they would know plenty about one another and some of their going ons in Kirkwall. The likelihood of Varric being with Hawke all the times they spoke to Cullen in the gallows is pretty high. The two men must have had some communication at some point. And as you said, they freaking took down Meredith together. That all definitely deserves some one on one banter between the two.
I can also imagine Morrigan making some comments about Kinloch as well.
Well, Varric wrote a book blatantly using Cullen as one of the characters (the one with the Templar Knight Captain and the City Guard, lol) so he obviously knew him enough to use him as writing fodder!

New interview from Cameron Lee, I don't think there's new information, but have a look.

I bet Varric's disposition toward Cullen will depend on how you sided in the end of DA2. Yes, you all ended up tag teaming to beat Meredith but perhaps your degree of mage / Templar sympathies will play a part.

Speaking of sympathies, I wonder if Cullen will have any for the Red Templars? I mean, they may not have known what they were huffing when they started, and even if the Templars that took it were the particular nasty ones, I wonder if he'd feel kinda bad for the mutation that they go through with prolonged use?

I would assume he hates them, being that he left the order. If he liked what they were doing, he probably would of joined them. Plus, he saw Meredith's.... situation happen right in front of him. The turning crazy, and eventually turning red AND crazy.

I don't mean that he'd like them, or wish to join them. You can feel disdain and even hatred for someone/something but still feel some form of sympathy, y'know? When you boil it down, they were once his templar brothers and sisters, and now they've become corrupt.
Things are never clear cut or black and white with Cullen. Hell, look at him in DA2 where he was relatively hard-lined in regards to mages and yet he still showed sympathy to Fenyriel when you send him to the circle and he goes into that coma. I suspect that he'll have more to say on the subject than just "the red templars should all be killed" or "I bloody told them not to huff it, so f*ck 'em!"

I kind of like the theory that Varric had something on Meredith that he used to blackmail her, at least until Hawke was the Champion and harder to touch. It isn't as if he wasn't doing things like that already to protect Daisy, for instance.

True, I didn't think about his former "brothers and sisters" in arms. This makes me wonder what's going to happen at the end of Inquisition. The original Inquisition split up into the circle, templars, and seekers. I wonder if it will do something similar at the end of DAI?
I agree that he may have some form of sympathy toward Red Templars...but not enough to want them spared. He's seen what the red lyrium has done. In fact, I believe he would find killing them to be a mercy killing.

That could be something that happens down the line, maybe?
I've been wondering if Cullen will want to rejoin the Order if things get back to normal, or if he'd prefer to stay with the Inquisition?

...You're assuming he's going to actually make it through to the end...
Sorry, couldn't resist ![]()
