That could be something that happens down the line, maybe?

I've been wondering if Cullen will want to rejoin the Order if things get back to normal, or if he'd prefer to stay with the Inquisition?

I don't think he'll want to be part of things as they were. If, however, there's change, I can see him going back to the templars. Of course, this depends on how things pan out with my inquisitor in the romance department.  ;)

...You're assuming he's going to actually make it through to the end...

 Sorry, couldn't resist

Good point! Hell, the advisors don't leave like the companions do so it might be the only way to get rid of one of them is to get them killed, LOL! (So long as it isn't compulsory!)

Perhaps we'll end up signing his side of the Inquisition over to do the Templars job, if you decide that you want to reinstate the circles or something?

I think this is where Cullen will be most helpful as an advisor. He's seen both extremes of the situation and neither works. He realizes that templars will always be needed, but clamping down hard only creates a larger problem. Likewise, giving mages too much rope seems to end in them hanging themselves. I like the idea of an open school for mages, one that would allow them to return to their families on a regular basis, sort of like a boarding school. I suppose the question would then be: does Cullen favor this idea?

She'll just come back to life anyway. ;)

Did they say that will be explored/explained in Inquisition?

Me too! Didn't they say we can ask him about it?

His writer said that he got it between the the end of the Meredith battle and the process of restoring order to Kirkwall, so something obviously went a bit ****** up in the middle, lol! I asked her if we'd get to ask him how he got it/would he tell us, but she didn't reply.

I was just reading in another thread how women in BioWare games seem to get the short end of the stick if they romance human males. Possibilities, of course, apply, but...

Alistair can dump you

Kaidan dumps you in ME2

Thane dies

Jacob cheats

Anders blows up the Chantry

The only one I can think of that doesn't is Anomen in Baldur's Gate 2. But I've also never played KoTOR and only have a very sketchy memory of NWN. Hopefully, Cullen's romance doesn't go any of these routes, but the odds aren't in our favor...  :crying:  :crying:

I didn't find it too bad. I mean, Kaidan thought Shepard was dead and then jumped to conclusions about her/him working for Cerberus, presuming she/he had been alive all that time and not bothered to tell him (because he's too stubborn to shut up and listen for 5 seconds, LOL!) Alistair never dumped my Wardens because I got lucky and didn't make him King (he said he didn't want to, lol), Jacob is a douche and Anders blew up the Chantry but I wasn't all that bothered, LOL!

To be fair though, still more options than gay guys. I'd have killed for Alistair. :(

We weren't really given any options to communicate with Kaidan. Even Anderson never offered to forward a message to him on Shepard's behalf. He only told her he was on some classified mission. I got lucky, too, with Alistair, but the point was it can happen. I never romanced Jacob (too creeped out by him) and it only bothered me about Anders because he didn't tell me his plan.

Yeah, I think that list is reaching a bit. All romances can end bitterly or bittersweet in BioWare, and many have bumps along the road. Some do have happy endings. By the way, Thane is not a human male lol

If anything, I doubt there is some conspiracy against straight female player characters; I wouldn't even go so far as to say it is unconscious abuse or neglect. And then to be so specific as to only look at human love interests, neglecting Garrus, Fenris, and Zevran... seems silly to me.

Yeah, I'm not a gay male, but my player character usually is, as that is the character I most enjoy and feel comfortable playing, and man, to have had Alistair as an option! DA2 is a sweet, sweet dream that shall evidently never be repeated lol Unrestricted access to All The Things!

I wasn't trying to suggest there was a conspiracy only that the odds aren't in our favor.  ^_^ I still remember that in Baldur's Gate 2, (which I believe is the first time romance was introduced in a game) females had only 1 option where males had 3 and there were no options at all for s/s until mods came along. And it was kind of relating to the odds of Cullen's romance having a "Happy Ending".

Yeah, I liked DA2's system when it came out because I actually had an option when it came romance. In the grand scheme of things though, I infinitely prefer DAI's approach because it allows for a greater ability to speak about sexuality within the context of Thedas. Yes, not everyone gets the one that they want, but I'm still tickled that we have not one, but TWO gay companions.

He does if you question him back in his clinic, takes some coaxing though!

Tbh, I'd get bored if it was a smooth ride with no potential problems or risks, lol.

I can't remember if it's before or after he asks you to go to the Chantry with him to distract the Grand Cleric... I think it's before if you question his motives because he's acting suspicious.

Leliana's romance was fairly happy. Merrill's romance, as well.
