So I watched the second demo again, the one where Leliana is tortured and then the group is shown fighting Alexius. From the sound of the player, it sounds like you chose to send Leliana in there, which means this is AFTER your character becomes the Inquisitor. With that being said...could you send Cullen or Josephine in there? And, is there a possibility that depending on how well you tried to prepare one of them depends on how much the incident damages the relationship between the advisor and the Inquisitor?

 

...Not that I would want Cullen to go through that pain or even Scribbles and Leliana, but it was a thought that came to my mind...

Everyone has different tastes n likes. Honestly this question gets asked too frequently. There's a thread in theDA2 forums you could browse through and u could browse through this one. I really don't see why we or anyone has to explain why they like something. Either u like the same thing or u don't.

Sorry if this seems a bit back handed. But I'm not online as much anymore, but it seems every time I pop in for a minute this same freaken question gets asked.

If you played through both games and just don't get it, then you just don't get it. I don't understand why some people love Anora, Teagan, or Fergus. It's okay. We all like what we like.

 

Alternatively, you can read through the first page of this thread and see if anything catches your fancy in regards to character breakdowns, discussions, and motivations.

 

It does seem a bit funny to come into a character thread and ask all the participates why they like the character so much. I don't understand why some people are so positively nuts over [insert DAI character] but I've no need to go into said character's thread and ask them what they're all on about.

Yes, the Inquisitor can choose to send one of the advisors. So you could also send Cullen or Josephine. I assume that the outcome will be a different one, depending on how your advisor deals with the whole situation (but that's just speculation).

 

We were wondering about what happens to Cullen. On the one hand, if he gets tortured as well it might raise some bad memories. On the other hand, he is more experienced in handling mages... I'm attempted to send in Josephine at this point. I hope she is diplomatic enough to find another solution than Leliana did. But I'm also prepared to do some re-loading.

I can only answer this for myself, of course. If you play a female mage in Dragon Age Origin then you meet Cullen briefly for the first time. He is the Templar who has to kill your mage should she fail her/his harrowing. If you play a female mage he has also a crush on her but Cullen is socially awkward and runs away at one point. Personally, I started to like the character right there. So when you return to the tower later as the Warden and Cullen gets tortured, I felt really bad for him and I always hoped he would recover from this.

 

When Cullen returned in DA 2 I was pleased to see that he was doing more or less okay. I always though that he was one of the few moderate and sane Templars in Kirkwall and given th circumstances this amazed me. He certainly made some mistakes but I like even that. A flawed character is a much more interesting character in my opinion. Anyway, I thought the guy had potential and therefore I'm really looking forward to his character development and his story arch in DAI.

 

As others have pointed out, there is also information on the very first page of this thead that explains a lot of things in more detail.

 

Last but not least I would like to add that it's probably a misconception to assume that Cullen is such a popular character because his thread has so many pages. There are lot of players who don't like him at all. And that's fine.
