Ty, I will try and stay de-lurked ;)

Don't get me wrong, drama isn't always a bad thing, we are all individuals with at times very differing opinions and that's fine, its when things turn nasty I tend to cringe. Some of the older threads just went well beyond the realms of anything remotely civil and it was awful to witness -shudders- lol.

This has always seemed like a pretty open thread, various people come in and discuss allsorts of bits and pieces, not always directly Cullen related and for the most part, they are always welcomed, which is pretty awesome, you guys should be proud of yourselves for creating such an environment for folks to come and hang out in ;)

Are any of you getting odd looks and stares from loved ones/friends regarding obvious gushing over Cullen and the game itself? My husband has perfected the "Eye-roll" he just doesn't get it atall. I'm glad to be able to finally talk about it with people even more excited than I am lol

Welcome!  :D

My son has the eye-roll perfected, but it's not reserved only for Cullen. He uses it when I squee in general  But it's all in fun, as he does quite a bit of squeeing himself, and is just as excited as I am about Inquisition. My youngest daughter also rolls her eyes when I start gushing about the game, especially when i wanted to invade McDonald's at midnight to use their wifi to download it the day it comes out - she said I was nuts! hmmph.. thank goodness it's available for pre-load 4 days prior and I can do it sanely at the library.

This thread and the Twitter thread are usually the only places I post - they're the nicest ones on the forum. I sneak in and read a few others sometimes but usually have to withdraw quickly to avoid the verbal missiles.

My partner gets overly excited about anything Cullen and squees 10x harder than I do just to mock me. He is lucky that I find it amusing or his dinner would be continuously inedible. ^_^

Morning :).

Yes, the Inquisitor can choose to send one of the advisors. So you could also send Cullen or Josephine. I assume that the outcome will be a different one, depending on how your advisor deals with the whole situation (but that's just speculation).

We were wondering about what happens to Cullen. On the one hand, if he gets tortured as well it might raise some bad memories. On the other hand, he is more experienced in handling mages... I'm attempted to send in Josephine at this point. I hope she is diplomatic enough to find another solution than Leliana did. But I'm also prepared to do some re-loading.

So am I. Especially if something does happen. :( Then again, I wonder if there is a choice to join them on the quest. But if not...oh boy...

Okay, I have caught up and need to react!:

C-C-Casey Hudson has left?! But Mass Effect! New IP! He sounded so excited for them. I don't know what to say. Good luck with whatever he does next, of course! But damn. ;n;

And thread lockage? I... I won't ask....

And of course Bedroom Cullens and Ceiling Cats.

And no one is allowed to stick on perma-lurk! I'll be sad. ;3;

That picture is brilliant, red velvet...yummy!

Since we don't really know what kind of personality shift, if any, Cullen may have undergone, I reckoned there is a chance he may need a little advice and guidance on a few non-military matters, so I think we can help him with a :

Dilemna of The Day (sorry, I have my silly head on) :

So, Cullen has a long standing date tonight with Quizzy, its been in the planning for some time given how busy they both have been, he can hardly contain his excitement until he realises he hasn't laundered this week, He has no clean small-clothes or socks... Maker Noooooo!

Should he.....

a- Cancel the date, making some lame excuse (if so, what would it be?)

b- Sort through the laundry basket, pick out the cleanest of the dirties and go for it.

c- Embrace eternity and the Maker and go commando (think of the chaffing)

d- Borrow some from another companion (male ;) ) with an added threat of death if that companion breathes a word about it to anyone

e- Try and craft a makeshift set (possibly from the red velvet bedding  )

f- none of the above, if not, what would have Cullen do?

My husband (we're common-law) just sort of... goes along with my game romances patiently haha.  He doesn't give me guff and tries to act interested when I ramble on about my romance interests but I don't think he quite 'gets it' though--he doesn't play video games.  He mostly just thinks I'm a bit strange, I think.  Although he must pay a little attention; for Valentine's Day he got me a Garrus 'insert-dirty-calibration-joke-here' card (my ME romance) so some of what I'm on about must stick in his head, haha.

Well, there a three kinds of people I know:

The first group has "issues" with video games in general, so it's not just about a certain character. They usually give me "the strange look". They probably think something like: Gosh, how old is she? She still plays games? Guess some people never grow up... Because games are just for teenagers. Right  . I call them the Ostrich people.

The second group is neutral and some of my closest friends belong to it. These are the people who normally don't play games - mainly because they don't have the time. They don't care if other adults play and might occasionally play themselves in their free time if they manage or if it's just a short game.

The third group consists of either fans, researchers or people who want to work in the game industry. The "hardcore" folks. Us :D .

I know very few people from category 3. Therefore it doesn't make much sense to talk with someone about Cullen or Dragon Age who has never played the game. Usually people either stare at me or nod politely while they have no idea what I'm talking about. So, I basically gave that up. However, now and then I meet "category 3" people and then we talk about video games but usually about more general things like how the non-linear storylines were handled, mounts, new projects and so on. I had a very interesting conversation once with someone about the Mass Effect character creator. He always played with "default" Shepard and didn't get it that I spent hours with the CC. He said by using BioWare's Shepard he would be closer to the developers' vision of the game. Well, I think that the CC is part of their vision, too. Otherwise there's no need to include it in the first place.

I'm really not liking his look in this pic, bless him he looks like he ran into a slamming door. His face is all squished up and his head is looking far too small for his body all armoured up. I am having a hard job figuring out what he is actually going to look like in game, all his pics so far are completely different from each other.

I very much agree with your assessment.  Luckily, I live in a house of gamers, so no one in my inner sanctum at least thinks I'm weird for being so into gaming or into DA or ME specifically, or any of the other franchises I love for that matter.  That being said, I think they simply tolerate my pixel crushes, of which I have had more than one, though Cullen has thus far turned out to be the most...intense.

And about the ME CC (and the DA CC too)...I def think it's there because the developers want us to customize, customize, customize.  I honestly feel that they see the individual player as the final ingredient in their overall creation and that our ability to customize and immerse ourselves in the game is very much a necessary part of their "vision."  I suppose I could be wrong, but it is def the feeling I have gotten, watching this process as closely as I have this time around.... ^_^

:P Woah. It's not the most flattering of pics, but I don't think he looks horrendous.  The eyes are def too light and are the wrong color.  Darken them up a bit and it looks much better.  As far as what he will look like in the game, I am also wondering about that.  He does kinda look different in every image they give us. Idk if it is that we are seeing shots taken of him while they were still tweaking or if angles and lighting are playing tricks with our eyes.  Guess we'll have to wait and see.  An in-game clip of Cullen walking and talking a bit would clear up a lot of questions on that score....*fingers crossed*

Oh I don't think he looks horrendous it's just not a good shot of him....doesn't change the fact he's getting romanced hard and often.

He's just looking a little off that's all. It's just hard determining his look when they are all different.

Yes we definitely need an ingame clip of him, for clarification ;)

Nah, I'm happily divorced and my daughters have fun feeding my game addictions. I only talk about games with my friends who are gamers, and they get the fun of losing yourself in a story.

My mom is very patient and likes to learn what I am obsessed with. She is actually reading Asunder right now. :D She kinda pressures me into buying collector editions of video games for their statues and merchandise because she thinks they're cool. XD She flipped when she learned the Inquisitor's Edition has tarot cards.

My aunt and another friend of mine play Dragon Age and other games I enjoy, so talking with them is easy. I still get self-conscious about it though, because I honestly can talk about video games ALL DAY and not get bored. I try not to let a conversation get dominated by my obsession though.
