I kinda like him as a templar - it's just so insane given his apostate family. But it's also nice that there is one more non-mage hater in the Order. And it seems both siblings like it better than being Wardens, though I guess it's more true for Bethany.

And yeah, that's the moment (minus Carver in my game) I finally took notice of Cullen :) It is a bit sad that in that scenario Cullen loses that line and that Carver doesn't get one of his own.

I nearly always make Carver a templar for that reason. My Hawkes figure if mages can't be free then at least they should have some non crazy templars looking out for them, I also persuaded Cullen to reinstate Samson for the same reason.

As much as I love Cullen stepping up and putting himself between me and Meredith and saying that line, it's doubly nice to have two templars standing between me and Meredith. It's a heart swelling moment :)

I'd rather hear Cullen mentioning things about Kirkwall, Hawke and the companions that we didn't get to hear from him, new insights about what he thought about it/them during the whole thing and looking back. But if he mentions the mage Warden, I hope they add something to it. Maybe he can mention any Warden and talk about his experience in the Broken Circle quest instead.

If that trailer is accurate and Morrigan and Cullen meet at some point, it'd be fun if a Mage Warden import caused them to have a radiant conversation about Amell, we are able to overhear (and possibly join in with).

For a male Warden who romanced Morrigan, Cullen's reaction to learning that the rumours of Amell's involvement with the Witch were true, while for a female Warden who befriended her, I can imagine Morrigan noticing his wistful tone when talking about her and taking a moment to tease him about it.

Cullen could even bring up his dealings with Hawke, the events of Kirkwall and joke about how trouble seems to follow that family around... and cue a moment of awkward silence if Morrigan did the Dark Ritual with the male Amell...

But since that's probably too much, I'd settle for just a comment about Morrigan still wearing the rosewood ring if romanced, what the Warden did at the end of Witch Hunt, or Cullen reminsicing about the events of Broken Circle.

Xbox tweeted this and according to this their press conference is on Tuesday. And it's very likely they'll show us something from Dragon Age.

No, no, no, no, no! No wistfulness! It's been over a decade and it was just a crush that led no where. Let bygones be bygones and that he is over it. We already had him mention the warden in a longing way in DA2, we don't need him still harping on the lost opportunity of a failed infatuation. Just no. Not saying she can't be mentioned, but it should be in a way that is healthy and more along the lines of: "Hey I had this silly crush when I was young." And just laugh at the absurdity of 'young crushes'. Aka a no strings attached sort of way.

That's what I meant, a sort of amused comment on his silly crush on the female mage who would become the Warden. It'd be pretty lame if he was still hung up on her over a decade after the fact, particularly as they never were actually involved.

Personally,I'd like him to refer to my warden with respect, rather than dismissing her as silly crush.Provided that he will indeed mention the warden(and have some extra lines for Amell/Surana),she saved his life in the end of the day and she's also the hero of Ferelden.
However him clinging to her after all these years,is definitely something I wouldn't like to see either.Still the fact that he's romanceable indicates that fortunately this isn't the case.

Mention then , but I also want to know their thoughts about them disappearing . Like maybe concern about what may have happened. The same thing with Hawke through Varric, and possibly Cass and Cullen. I guess acknowledging their disappearance when the Breach occurred.

But he already had that in DA2. I never stated that he had to be completely disrespectful of the warden, but the intention had better darn be that he is no longer wistful about her or has any regrets about her. That's just not healthy and plus, he mentioned her highly in DA2. It should be done with by now. He can mention her in passing but that's about all. Yes, she saved him, but that shouldn't hold any feelings besides respect for a hero. It would be overly creepy and concerning if he held anything more than that.

And in case it's not clear, I'm referring to him talking about his old 'crush' on the Warden. Never said that he should just dismiss the Warden in general. Regardless of Mage or not, the warden did save him from the tower and in that respect, all the warden characters should be treated the same emotionally as a hero with whom he respects. The only thing I'm saying is he should be over that crush if and when he talks about it, as just that: an old infatuation. No wistfulness, no longing. Just an old crush.

I agree there, but it would be nice to learn what he remembers of the Mage Warden, or just his thoughts on the Warden in general after the Broken Circle. Though, with the same as Hawke, I hope we get mentions of the Warden disappearing like Leliana is still trying to find him/her with some help from Cullen and Cassandra, and even Morrigan making a passing note about it like if she knew where they might be.

Oh, I'm positive that we'll get that. I, too, would like to hear what he thinks of the Warden's disappearance. I specifically speaking about his old crush on the Warden. That portion should be in passing and not made a huge deal of. If we can question him about the Warden and Hawke, that would be amazing.

Definitely. Though if they do make a mention of his infatuation of the female Mage Warden, I think it might be along the lines of "I had feelings for her, but that was long ago". Like I can see the Inquisitor questioning about her and he talks about her, and the Inquisitor teases that he had feelings for her, which he could mention that he did. Then it's done with. That actually won't be too bad and not creepy. But, like with Hawke, he still speaks highly of her.

Actually, I think more than anything, I would like to know he met the Mage Warden, both genders. In the dialogue, you knew who Cullen was and depending on your dialogue with him, you two are at least friendly with each other. It would be interesting on how he first met them. Same thing with the other Wardens, but we know how they meet, he just mentions it.

This is more or less what I picture, that they discuss Amell/Surana being missing, and it comes up that Cullen knew her or him at Kinloch Hold. If Leliana was in the party during Broken Circle for a female mage, I could see her saying something to him especially if the warden and Leliana were in a romance at the end of DAO, but I don't really see any other reason for it to come up in a way that would make it apparent that he'd had feelings for her once beyond friendship. Unless he's still got some unresolved trauma from being tortured which apparently involved Amell/Surana (whether she became warden or not).

Will I be pelted with tomatoes if I admit that this image now makes me want an Alternate Universe DLC where the Cullen bought the Lyrium Idol from Bartrand, leading to his transformation from a moderate Templar concerned about the dangers of magic... to becoming "the Danger" as he enacts a coup against Meredith and becomes an even more fearsome Knight-Commander than she was?

(Incidentally, I can totally see a Carver who joined the Templars as taking the role of Jesse...)

I'd be ok with that, even if I don't think that it would be necessary for him to mention his feelings at all.Still since the pc will now get the chance to interact with him on a more personal level,he might refer to his infatuation.

Well if it is mention, let it be because the Inquisitir brought it up. Either way, I just would like to then talk about Hawke and the Warden. Especially with the impact the two may have had.

I won't be I importing any Amell's or Surana's so won't have to hear any of that crap thank god.

To be honest, some of the fears about Cullen being fan service are starting to affect me, too. The recent bedroom pic for example was just so... I almost feel insulted as a fan lol

I think they could be doing that to tease us , but hopefully he has many badass moments in this game and the romance is handled well. If they show him more in the games con, that might help.

While I agree it was just a crush, it should NOT be forgotten that he did have a crush. Its part of WHO he is.

By denying it you are erasing a part of who he is.

Kinloch Hold was a major event in Cullen's life, so the Warden (and his/her actions) should come up, especially since Cullen didn't really talk about it in DA2. I'm especially hopeful that Cullen will have banter with Leliana and/or Morrigan about the Broken Circle quest.

I may not get the reaction I'd like to a female mage Warden, but if Cullen just ignores the events of Origins completely I'll be pissed! :P
