I have a complete bastard male Cousland Warden who anulled the Circle, and unfortunately the Hawke I imported that Warden for sided with the mages so I missed out on Cullen's speech at the Gallows if he's asked for his opinion on sparing the three surrendering mages (if Hawke sides with the templars) where, if the Warden anulled the Circle, Cullen expresses regret that the mages could not be saved.
I've been searching for a video of that but couldn't find it. Any help, please?
I'll hunt it down tonight when I'm off work. I thought it was in the Dana Duchy video that's been linked here before? I hope I didn't imagine it.I've been searching for a video of that but couldn't find it. Any help, please?
Even if Cullen did have a crush on Amell, I'm not sure I want the romantic interest part brought up in a convo directly with my Quizzy. In theory, all our characters could have histories, perhaps lost loves etc. best not to dwell on the past, nothing came of it at the time, he was young and it seems inexperienced in such things, I'd like to think that he perhaps remembers but that its more in line with respect for her role both as the HoF and as a Mage. Similarly, I'd like for him and the other companions who knew her or of her, to acknowledge Hawke.
Reminds me in ME3 when you speak to a certain LI and he talks about a time when FemShep had listened to him talk about his first love and about how his heart had been broken, not sure about anyone else but I was like "
". I didn't need to hear about her again lol. (selfish, I know lol).
My mage Hawke has started siding with the Templars in DA2, nothing to do with Cullen at the end ofc
I much prefer that ending to the game, by that time my mage was sick and tired of mages and felt that damage limitation was the best outcome for all lol.
I've never managed to be brave enough to annul the Fereldan tower, I'm too much of a softie.
Anyway, Im off to bed, have a great day/night, whichever part of the world you bide ![]()
I think it might be a press only thing? But live stream to the public?
Gameinformer confirms Tuesday as well for the Microsoft Press Conference:
http://www.gameinfor...g-schedule.aspx
EA's is the 13th.
Different press conferences.
Yes, I think it's only a press conference. Gamescom starts officially on the 13th. That's the date on their homepage in the top left corner.

We're thinking the Tuesday one is a press-only event.
But it has a live stream ![]()
@Eric, thank you for your demon voice! I have been really sick and haven't laughed for days (which is a big deal for me because I laugh at everything) but I got my giggles going when I heard that.
There are times that I wonder if Mika Simmons (Anora's VA) is a Cullenite.
Yesterday she favourited one of my retweets!!

After gamescom I'll be putting out a video on demon lore. So naturally... ![]()
Welp, I've gone through seven different videos of the Gallows scene in the Last Straw where the mages surrender if you side with the templars, and Cullen always has the exact same line, "The situation was far more dire in Ferelden's Circle, yet many mages were saved."
I was so sure that line was a little different if the Warden anulled the Circle, but I guess I was imagining it. Sorry guys. ![]()
I'm loving these cute little Cullen comics that are being made! ![]()
And we also have this:

BAMF Cullen is a delicious Cullen.
So I was hoping that I could get some family members, especially my parents, to pitch in and help me buy an xbox one for my birthday (August 25th). Today I finally broached the topic with my mom, and after laughing outrageously at the price, her response was, "But video games are for children!"
Looks like I'd better start setting some money aside before November!

Oh, that sucks! But have you suggested it could be your birthday and Christmas present?

Don't apologize! Thanks for looking. I'm not sure you're wrong because I vaguely remember the same and annulling the Circle in DAO was such an unpopular option it could very well be that none of those videos had that backstory.

I'd have hit the floor and yelled "goo goo gaa gaa!". lol Tell her you want a Visa gift card instead and put it towards the Xbox. ![]()

awww birthday lists... I feel old now.
That's the reason I asked because in the codex, it mentions that the other Templars thought he was in love with a mage and it pained him to hear.
But, considering there are six origins to go by and choose...I think we're in the clear of him still dwelling on her.
Hmmmm maybe. But who knows if an Amell still exists even if you didn't play that origin?
Chiming in late, but that part of the codex only shows up with an Amell or Surana import.

Actually, apparently it is slightly different. I dunno if this line actually fires in-game, but apparently it's in the talk table.
This thread moves really fast, but I think this was brought up recently. Semi-recently, at least.
I was checking out the DA2 dialogue file and came across Cullen's lines when it comes to sparing those mages at the end (is it the pro-templar ending?). I think someone was wondering how his lines change there if Kinloch Hold was annulled? Not sure if that was answered, and maybe I even dreamed the whole conversation, but here's what I found:
Cullen: The situation was far more dire in Ferelden's Circle, and yet many mages were saved. We could still do as much here.
or
Cullen: When Ferelden's Circle was lost, the situation was far worse than this. I can't believe wholesale slaughter is the only answer.

No, that's just apart of his PAST. His crush does not define who he is and it would be insulting to his character if that was made to be a huge deal to him. If realism is truly what they crave in the game, plenty of people have had crushes in their past. But we don't dwell on them and I hope that they don't make him out to have a huge issue about not getting with the Warden. It's NOT who he is and what defines him as a person and I would be extremely disappointed if Bioware made it so that crush was the biggest thing to ever shape him. I've said it before and I'll repeat myself, I don't mind him talking about the crush in PASSING. He already mentioned it in DA2, it's been over a decade so let the guy be at peace with it. I don't want them to make a HUGE deal about it. That's all I'm stating.
I know that we discussed Cullen's possible reaction to his past crush before. Still, I would like to add one or two things. Not that I want to argue but I have to respectfully disagree with you.
First of all, I don't think that the writers will make a huge deal out of it. They haven't done so in the past. Cullen mentions the female Amell just once in DA 2. Compared with the overall amount of dialogues in the game, that's really very little. Therefore I believe that if he mentions her again in DAI the amount of text and time will be similar. And my interpretation of his wiki entry is that other Templars discussed his crush on the Warden much more than he did it himself. Cullen doesn't strike me as the person who goes on and on about his feeling. That's another reason why I don't believe that there will be an issue.
However, I DO believe that a person as a whole is the sum of several smaller parts. And with "parts" I mean the experiences that we make in the past and which define us. A crush is just one of those experiences. Cullen's crush on the Warden shaped his memories. To get my point across I'll give you an hypothetical example: Let's assume that Cullen started to question the harrowing while he was in Ferelden because he didn't want to kill someone he cared deeply about. He would never admit that so he shut away his thoughts in some dark corner of his mind. Years later he meets another Templar who has a crush on a mage. That mage is also supposed to do her harrowing and Cullen notices how much the Templars suffers. Reminded of his own feelings, Cullen finally steps up and somehow he manages to abolish the harrowing entirely. Had he never had a crush on the fem!Warden, he wouldn't care so much. But he does because he remembers how he felt.
And that's why feelings can define a person. They can change a persons philosophy or attitude. One doesn't necessarily have to be in a romantic relationship for that. So, yes, I think it's possible that even if he only loved the fem!Warden from the distance and that was all ten years ago, it's still a part of who he is now.
That being sad, I think most us agreed the last time we discussed this that it would be okay if Cullen mentions the fem!Warden but that we all hoped that he has moved on by now
