I'm sure someone will want to have a friendly word with your Inquisitor about it, they always have in the previous two games lol.

Well in the previous games it was more so about the actual romance than the consequences said romance would have on impacting everyone else. Especially since now your character is the leader of a huge organization and not just a little rag tag group if friends. Their decisions matter more than ever. I'd like to see characters now more concerned about themselves in regards to the Inquisitor's choice of romance aside from just being concerned for the Quizzy, themselves.

One question: Do you think the others will question the professionalism and ability to not mix business and pleasure with your Quizzy romancing one of the characters? Particularly, if it is with an advisor? I'd imagine that would bring up concern that there would be favorability as a result.

One of the other characters will probably take you aside and address the romance for that reason.

Although in the case of a Male Inquisitor romancing Cass, I picture Varric and Iron Bull chiming in and joking that they don't mind it when Quizzy always sends her charging in first, as they all get to stand back and watch her backside... whilst silently high-fiving and fist-bumping.

Cue the scene abruptly cutting to all three of them running out of the Keep as fast as they can, after someone relayed that information to her. Cassandra strikes me as the type of woman who really does not like or react well to being objectified...

(Although her choice of attire in DotS makes me wonder if she was just innocently clueless back then.)

Edit: @Scroll, put Spider-M(orrig)an in spoiler tags, as you wished! :)

That would be an interesting spin since, like you said, the Inquisitor is the leader of this organisation and the companions/characters could have concerns that the LI could hold more influence in the Inquisitor's way of going about things that could, in turn, cause problems for some of the others. Or that they're worried that the Inquisitor will get too caught up in the romance/LI to see sense if something bad (foreshadowing) was to potentially happen, kinda thing.

Is it sad that I actually want there to be heated arguments and not just one off discussions over this? Like maybe even a couple of the companions, at a time, all get together in order to address the Quizzy with their concern ad then there's the other companions that may have no issue with it chime in on your Quizzy's behalf?

I remember one of the devs quoting a bad guy (possibly the big bad) saying that he/she/it will destroy everything the Inquisitor's loves (then there was a joke about throwing a jar of bees) but it makes me wonder if whoever the Inquisitor does romance becomes a target for the bad guy(s), thus giving the companions and other members of the Inquisition cause for concern knowing that not only is it putting that person in direct danger, but also directly putting the Inquisition in danger too.

Oh man, could you imagine if the LI did get abducted? Kinda like in DA2 but on a much grander scale, thus causing the Inquisitor to (have the option) to really freak out about it and go a bit off the rails, potentially putting the Inquisition or his/herself in danger just to rescue the LI and stuff like that.

I could see Cass, when not in friendship, bringing it up as a liability. I don't think a friend Cass would be as worried. I think she'd have more trust in both you and your LI

I think she'd still be concerned, but she probably wouldn't be so blunt about it, lol.

I wonder if who your LI is would also affect the amount of concern. Like Dorian, for example, since he is from Tevinter, the same place the Venatori are from. I would bet Leliana and Cullen would take issue. Again though, I feel like if Dorian has proved himself by that point, Cass wouldn't be nearly as worried.

It'd be good if they put in something that recognised it like in Citadel. If you repeatedly put your LI in your squad or show particular favouritisim to them, even after the conversation where this gets brought up, the person who voiced it will either come back with their concerns, someone else will, or you walk in on a bunch of your team discussing it with the others (barring your LI, obviously).

I like the idea of a little dissent amongst the ranks because they percieve you as doing whatever your booty-call wants and you have to play peacemaker to try and assure them that's not the case. It might be a case of no-win and you lose favouritism, but that'd be a far more real outcome to that scenario.

This is something I've wanted to see for a while now.

In DA2 there was that time where your LI could be abducted if they weren't in your party by the mages and Templars involved in Ser Thrask's coup against Meredith and in ME2, the Collectors attack Horizon because Kaidan/Ashley are there, but at no point did I ever got the feeling that my love interest and/or (former) companion was ever really in danger.

You'd think that being the lover of a known leader like the Inquisitor would put you just in as much of the line of fire as they are?

I guess it depends. I mean, they've all had to put their differences aside and they all know that each of them are skilled in what they do. However, I think some LIs would cause more of an issue than others, like The Iron Bull since he's still working for the Qunari.

I think, to a point people will be more bothered that the Inquisitor could let his/her guard down when it comes to keeping a grip on the Inquisition if he/she is focused on something other than just beating the big bad and getting the breach closed. I also think that some characters, like Varric, would simply ask because he's concerned for a friend, like he did with Hawke.

I'm certainly hoping so! But not just your LI, some of your closer companions could/should be at risk too, or maybe all of them if your Inquisitor manages to befriend all of them, lol! I mean, by default just working for the Inquisition is going to make you a walking target anyway, but if certain characters have a closer bond with the Inquisitor than others it stands to reason that the bad guys would want to target them harder to provoke a reaction.

Anybody touches my friends, they burn. No questions asked. They can target me all they like, but heaven help the idiot who attempts to target my friends.

I think I'd legitimately flip my... doody (I'm not allowed to swear anymore or I'll get banned again) if any of the companions, advisors or major npcs/past companions/protagonists get kidnapped or hurt, lol!

I can sort of see it like a political setting seeing as each member has an agenda all of their own while in the Inquisition. I can see this clashing if they believe that your Inquisitor is finding favour in the likes of someone who is of one end of the spectrum and them becoming concerned that this will affect the entirety of the organization. Like, for reference, use the President as the Quizzy and Congress as the Companions/Advisors.

What's funny is that even though I wasn't a major fan of Leliana in DAO, when I saw her being tortured at E3, I was completely outraged.

Yeah, like if one pillar is being picked noticeably more than the others, even when it comes to situations where another would be more suited to the job, lol.

God, please don't let the Inquisition turn into Congress. Lol, we'll never get anything done.

For real! I was like "GET YOUR ********* HANDS OFF OF LELIANA YOU SCUM BAG!!!", which was surprising because I hadn't expected to react like that at all.

For some reason, I can see Vivienne having the most issues as compared to the rest of the crew.

Edit: In regards to her own self interest and the Inquisitor romancing someone of a particular interest.

Yup, she bears watching. That said, I'm gonna bring her to the Hinterlands so she can maybe talk some sense into the rebel mages. And perhaps Cullen would have a way to talk down the rebel Templars.

Particularly if she did turn out to be an LI too, I could imagine potentially scathing remarks about it lol.
