Last year I've read an interesting article about how computer game spiders helped some people to deal with their spider phobia. I'm not kidding. So, you should all embrace spiders in DAI :P . But it's all very well for me to laugh since I don't live in Australia. I've heard they've got really huge spiders there - bird spider sized.

Sorry to quote a convo from pages ago, but I just had to reply. This is so the opposite for me. I've never had a problem with spiders in real life - maybe because I've only dealt with big ones a couple of times. But in pictures or video games? Damn. In fact, because I never seemed to have an issue with real life spiders, I once completely freaked out a friend when I had an anxiety attack while trying to play Limbo /ashamed

Well poop, I really need to start paying attention to details when I click on things, holy crap, I just signed on my e-mail to like 175 Bioware e-mail notifications that replies had been made in threads I was following, wow lol.

Thankfully, I've found where to disable that option now, yay me!

Sorry if something similar has been discussed before but I thought it might be fun (trying to take my mind off the impending doom that is my upcoming haircut lol).

If Cullen (or because we have guests, your fav companion/LI) ended up by a fluke of nature, time and "reasons", landing as they are in game, actually slap-bang in the middle of your RL home, what sights would you shows them from your towns or cities and what modern day inventions would you introduce them to?

Me: Here Cullen, this is for you

Cullen: What is it?

Me: It's what we call a mobile phone

Cullen: Can I smite enemies with it?

Me: Not too sure but it's worth a shot.

I would show him the Cathedral in Cologne. Since he is was a Templar he might enjoy it. As for the modern day inventions I'd introduce him to movies as well. Lord Of The Rings, all three parts :D. And to microwaved popcorn.

Not much in the way of sights in my area, I'm stuck in redneck heaven, so I'm stumped with that one. Hmm, air conditioning would be one thing to introduce him to if it was summer time (we get into the 100s regularly). Thinking of all the levels in Kinloch Hold, elevators would probably fascinate him. Since he apparently sings, radio/mp3 player?

I think introducing him to our songs, going with the latter of your statement, Tishina. XD I wonder what he would think of them...

Oooo! Good question! I'd take him to a fireworks show - *gasp!* - Disney World! Though he might think it's dark magic or something... Lol! Same with a movie. I could show him Dragon Age games!

Cullen: "I can smite maleficarum with this?" *holds up PS3 remote*

I think he might like a camera.

I'd introduce him to the concept of electricity powered lights and plumbing. Along with a dash of automotive 101.

Random, but I'm finishing up my Origins playthrough, and I've gone back to the Circle from Orzammar to peddle some lyrium. Anyway, my Cousland ran into Cullen on the way, and he was all angsty and sad, and I was like, "Awwww. It's okay Cullen, in about 10 years you'll find some more direction in life after all of your beliefs are torn down and shattered. Also in 10 years you'll get laid!"

Just linked @bbattye a song that made me think of Cullen. Now we're both imagining the music video taking place in Skyhold

Ok, I have to ask in case you actually answer me...what is it? ;-) #Cullenites

It's terrible but the first song that popped into my head was Lonely Island's "I Just Had Sex."

Brothers can be lame like that. I tried to get one of mine to stand indecisively beside a "dead end" sign that directed him to his wife for one of their photos and he wouldn't. I thought it to be quite funny.

It always reminds me of this horrid 80's movie called "April Fool's Day" so I always think of bad horror movies when I hear it but now I will think of Cullen.

I love the comic strips! The last frame--lols! <3

I am forever thankful that the people in the Dragon Age fandom have a sense of humour. ^_^

Spoiler for size.

So, I'm grinding through my first playthrough of Origins (no I haven't finished it yet don't shoot me!), and I finished the Warden's Keep DLC, and Levi says something really interesting about his family. Remember how one of speculations we had about Cullen's last name was that he's a Dryden? (paraphrased because I can't remember :S)

"They say that our family's stock is descended from lions..."

and afterwards, when you ask him if he told his family the truth about Sophia

"I thought about it, but then I thought that it isn't such a bad thing to believe that you come from a line of lions."

Coincidence?  Probably. In fact, most likely. But still. Speculation for everyone! *throws speculation confetti*

Damn, you're not very soothing, are you?

Well, I did say he'd get laid in about 10 years, didn't I? :P Isn't that soothing?

Oooo, you're right! And I've played through Warden's Peak twice recently and never paid attention to that line.

I love speculation confetti!

The only thing that makes me doubt he is from any lore-important family is that David Gaider didn't seem to remember his name in an interview. (Of course that could have been to just not give it away or to tease us. x3) And that he said  "Oh so that's his last name" or something of that sort on Twitter, which makes me think it would have to be insignificant lore wise. ^-^

But Cullen being a Dryden would be quite interesting.

Nope, not at all  I found this part:

"Awwww. It's okay Cullen, in about 10 years you'll find some more direction in life after all of your beliefs are torn down and shattered."

a LOT more soothing than that one.
