I can understand as I have many family members and friends who are both of lesbian and gay orientation, however, it is important not to tackle people out of context. I can't speak about the second party that you had referred to in your post, but, I, myself, have never told her to "suck it up" by any means. I was only commenting on Chanda's post stating how Chanda plays, which is similar to my own.

It was more about Chanda's original quote of "So?" in response to Xil. I thought you were aware and was piling on with "I'm straight but I play as lesbian sometimes too" as if to enforce what I thought was a dismissal from Chanda. So again, I apologize (Last time, I swear) for misinterpreting.  It was just a terrible misunderstanding. So I'm just gonna mosey on along and be quiet. :P

It adds re-playability (not sure I spelled that right) to the games. I've played DAO I don't know how many times, and I'm finally playing as a male character, and I have every intention of romancing Zevran to get that angle of it. The only other time I played as a male character, I romanced Morrigan. I tried with Leliana, but the eyelash thing... What is it with her, and Merrill, with eyelashes?

YES! What is that? Also when she broke out singing it reminds me so much of crazy girls in my highschool that would try and get attention. I think I'm the only person who was weirded out by her singing. Which is unfair because I was delighted when Mordin sang. Although he was prompted to lol!

It's all good. No harm done. And you don't have to be quiet or anything, come, join, play, chat, giggle, sleepover, stay forever *creeper stare* O>O

I always felt sorry for Mordin when he broke out singing. Jeeze, Shepard. Give the poor guy a clap or something, you're making him feel awkward and self-conscious!

Hey, saw this in the Twitter thread. It's kinda relevant!

User@user: @HulegaardBooks
Any chance we will find out if Cullen is a companion in the near future?

David Hulegaard@HulegaardBooks: @user we will absolutely answer that question at some point before launch. :)

So, good news! We'll know before we buy the game!

Yes, agreed. I never felt Cullen stood up at the end because of Hawke: It's because he simply couldn't reconcile Meredith's behavior with his own, deep seated beliefs. And I think, as Lola just pointed out, it must have cost him a lot to reach the point where he could no longer place the burden of his faith in the hands of a commander gone mad.

That said I'm curious to see what route they take with him in DAI: Will be be in the midst of a crisis of faith/duty because of Meredith's betrayal and the whole mess that happens with the Mage vs Templar war (and having to deal with still more atrocities and things-gone-horribly-wrong all around him)...
...or, alternatively, will it strengthen him? To stand up as he did and realize that his faith and duty can - and maybe must - exist beyond the possibly flawed dictates of fallible/human leaders? Maybe he'll have more resolve when it comes to trying to save the aspect of the Templars and his faith that he believes in so strongly; more willing to staunchly push for a return to what he believes the Order should represent and how they should act?

I dunno, but I think either route could be really interesting!

Something I've always thought is that the massive upheavals in the Order itself must be hugely destabilizing for him personally. I like to think he got to the end of DA2 and finally, at long last, started thinking for himself, cleaving to his ideal of what the Order stands for, finally confident and standing on his own principles. Then, BOOM, that idealized Order throws the Chantry under the bus, ready to the deal with the mage threat as "they see fit."  If Cullen depends so much upon this ideal and his faith, where does that leave him? I just see the rug being pulled out from underneath him all over again.

Agree! I am frankly fascinated with his relationship with Meredith. I always imagine how she might have mentored him as she elevated him in rank so early after coming to Kirkwall. Then, imagine how tough it must have been having a mentor start to go off the rails like that. He had a front row seat for Meredith's emerging craziness. I've been wanting to write a story about this...

Obviously she was always a bit of a hard lined zealot, but for a young man who'd just been through so much trauma, still so full of anger and frustration at the suffering he and his Templar brethren had recently endured, it's no wonder he felt some kind of bond with her. He was looking for someone to reaffirm and agree with the way he was feeling, and to an extent I think Meredith used that to her advantage. Cullen did begin to heal and soften a bit during his time in Kirkwall, but he obviously still had a great deal of respect for the woman, I don't blame him for not being able to face or admit the truth until it punched him square in the face and forced him to act.

Man, I can't wait to see how he's holding up and ask him what the past few years between the events of DA2 and the moment we meet him in DAI have been like!

I assume that either he was thrown out of the order....or he left because he didn't believe in the whole mage-templar war.... Maybe a little bit of both

This is a good point because if you are a person like Meredith Cullen is the perfect guy to use and place in your second command.

If Cullen isn't a divine loyal Templar, I imagine he would have left the order entirely. Judging by what we know about him thus far (which can obviously change by the next game), I can't see him following Lambert's ideals.
