I just watched the trailer! My Hawke teaming up with my Inquisitor?!! Best. Birthday. Gift. Ever!

I love that the characters can directly interact with the Inquisitor via touch, like Solas grabbing the Inquisitor's hand to close the rift and Dorian in the last demo grabbing the Inquisitor by the shoulder to stop her from going to attack the enemies that had Leliana by the throat etc. It's not often we get to see characters do that beyond the LI's kissing the protagonist and stuff.

I'm also really liking this. It's nice to see "normal" touching, like real people would do.

Yes, that was Cullen (furry collar and seeker shield, blond hair, human), so he makes three appearances in that one trailer.

And why do I feel like there's a line somewhere in DAO referring to a herald of change or something (though I may getting confused with something else.)?

Edit: and templar bracers.

It has been sooo long since I played DAO but I thought there was a mention if a herald too. But I recall believing that it was reference to Andraste. Not sure how it related to her though... Could have been her most trusted in command? I don't really remember.

I know! That's the most distracting part of these trailers. They look like real people moving. It's amazing and awesome.

Okay so seeing that other guy in the same Inquisition armor makes me think we're in some Cult/Clan/Religion that honors dragons or a specific dragon. We're wearing that armor what seems to be in the beginning of the game ( I'm guessing here, since in the demos they usually wear something else) Whoever sets of that magical explosion might have done it on purpose to get the "Fade Powers" that we also get. He has glowing eyes and we get the glowing hand.

 

Maybe that glowy/shiny figure (good spirit/andraste?) gives us the power so we can fight him. It would kind of make sense if it was Andraste, I mean why would some nobody all of a sudden lead the Inquisition. Surviving the blast just doesn't seem a good enough reason, we could of just been stupidly lucky. Cassandra or even Leliana would be perfectly good leaders for the Inquisition, so why us?

The contact animations do look brilliant, I wonder how complex they were to do on the new engine. If they were difficult to achieve, I can imagine we won't see very many but if its relatively simple, we may get loads, which would be great.

Yeah, I'm thinking either it's just their leader who's super tall, (he's the only one I saw), or it's to further highlight these guys and gals are barbarians. Usually barbarians are quite tall in fiction.

a human barbarian tribe. one of them. i think the other is the alamarri. iirc, it was--or humans were all once avaar and alamarri. then we broke up and, etc.

Well, I gotta say that the more I see of Cullen, the more I like him.  Didn't play far enough into DA 2 to meet him, but I did poke around in youtube for a while.  I also started a mage in DA : O and plan on keeping around a save game from right before you can talk to him there so I can run through all of the variations of his younger self.  Might do the same at the end of the Age Tower, though it might distress me a bit to have that conversation over and over.

 

That's...uhhh...none of that is too strange, I hope.

They're one of the tribes of the Alamarri peoples who are the ancestors of the people of Fereldan.  Maferath, the husband and betrayer of Andraste, was one of them.  The Avvars split off from the rest of the Alamarri and still worship their old gods
