Looking at these cards, it seems we're picking up Sera, Iron Bull and Vivienne later in the game. Wonder if we can decide when to pick them up or if it's times somehow, like DAO/2 if you go past a certain quest you can't pick them up no more.
Or didn't they say we can't skip any of the companions?

Ooh, I hope so. It seems likely, given the design of the character cards is very similar to traditional tarot card designs.
I just saw another interview where the devs said that there is, in fact, talking going on over the war table with your advisors. So I wasn't going crazy!!
