I'm loving the discussions here about Cullen's personality, especially compared and contrasted with Cassandra's.  I'm kind of excited to see how or whether those two get along. I'm sorry I'm going to miss much of this-I have family stuff this evening, and whatnot.

I do want to say that I almost have the Cullen-centric shortbread recipe polished and ready to go. I think one more batch to test something, and then I'll get it ready for the 1000 pg celebration.  I'm just sorry we can't have a *real* celebration so I can just make a bunch and bring them! *grin* instead, I'll have to be content with ya'll baking them for yourselves. :D

Me too! My goodness this thread moves fast...

I really like the point Xil raised about Cassandra having seen the best of everyone, vs Cullen having seen the worst of everyone. So Cass has seen what we have the potential to be, whereas Cullen has seen the worst of what we can become. That added to Cass' explosive nature, vs Cullen's slow burn do, in my eyes, make them very different personalities. I can see where some people would be concerned that they would be too similar in viewpoint, but it really seems like they would (if nothing else) be very different sides of the same coin (chantry).

Morning Kit!

Also, 1000 pg celebration? Suddenly I feel pressure...

To me, It kind of looks like many of the others walking have the very same collar and jacket.

I know. I was being silly. There is a picture floating around somewhere of Cullen wearing what looks like that collar. :)

Yeah was a survey leak of what appears to be Cullen, but, idk, his outfit seems to have changed in the war room concept art. *shrugs*

I think during pre-release we will probably see many different visual representations of the same character - for all characters - since we are supposed to be able to customize our companions. So all three could be Cullen! :) Or not. We'll see. I do think the guy in the war room is him, though. Despite the hair discrepancy... he just looks like him in the face to me.

*snort* :D

Cullen: "Inquisitor? Why are you... painting red stripes on my armor?"

Inquisitor: "So I can find you in a crowd. I know how you love to wander and with all Chevaliers roaming around, another armored body walking the streets would blend right in."

Cullen: *suffering sigh* "I'm not wearing the helm."

Inquisitor: "Oh come on! It's pointy!"

Sorry. Couldn't resist.... :D

Playing catch up! :wizard:

Beautiful work, Rinji, as always <3 They both look so handsome.

My Harry Potter ships (because this is important): Ron/Hermione (Rowling's words to the contrary pissed me off), Neville/Luna (mostly from the movies), Sirius/Lupin (yes, my heart did break).

About Cass and Cullen -- I like what someone said regarding renegade versus paragon personalities, that Cass is mostly renegade and Cullen is paragon. I don't know why but that just made me smile. The problem with comparing them is that I know almost nothing about Cass whereas I know way more about Cullen. From what little I know of Cass, and from what I learned about seekers from reading Asunder, I don't see how they're very similar. One is a moderately high-ranking templar (the equivalent of being a town deputy); another is a seeker with close, personal connections to the Divine (with the seekers being sort of like the CIA in my book). I don't know what Cass's views on mages and the Circle are; I do know what Cullen's are, or I can make a guess what they will be post-DA2. Cass seems more of an agent type; she does the Divine's bidding, whereas Cullen is more of a leader type; he questions orders that are given to him, and then we have that concept art of him potentially leading a group of templars.

No, to me, they are very different, they just are. Now if you want to talk about redundancy, how about the possibility of having three mages on our team. I'm fine with Vivienne being pro-Circle and Solas being whatever the heck he is, but a THIRD mage? Seems redundant in my opinion. What other possible point of view could s/he be bringing? I'd much rather have a fourth rogue or warrior (Cullen's likely inclusion or exclusion not withstanding).

I swear that one of the devs claimed the same thing about not wanting an all mage party....

It took me years to realise that's what they actually call it in America. I thought the TV shows were just changing the title slightly because it wasn't supposed to be advertising it or something. Is Waldo even a name?

As a side note, I prefer Where's Miranda.

I would be totally okay with a third mage if they're as much of a perfect queen as Minerva McGonagall.

*now drags self away from Harry Potter and back to DA*

Wait, I've only heard Where's Waldo. So it's Wally in the UK?

Dorian, as a Tevinter magister, can provide a different view from Solas, Who is an apostate. For example, a Tevinter magister companion in DA2 would've provided a different view from Anders or Merrill.
There are other possibilities as well. A Rivaini seer, a saarebas, a Nevarran Mortalitasi. They'd all provide a different viewpoint from the current companions.

As for HP, what did J.K Rowling said that pissed you off? I remember something about Harry/Hermione that she said, but I don't recall the exact words.
