Ok so the more I watch that trailer the more I hear Corypheus as the big bad at the beginning. Especially the way he says ' he does not exist'.  Which seeing Hawke and a warden together seems to kind of maybe support that, as Hawke fought Cory in Legacy and he was being imprisoned by the wardens.  Maybe Hawke went missing because he/she was helping the wardens with hunting him down and re capturing him?

 

That's probably why Hawke was with that Warden, yeah. That's not our Warden though, it's someone else.

Yeah but didn't they say it wasn't our PC.  I'm still thinking it's Alistair, with another warden in his place if he is king, possibly Stroud. 

Also wasn't male Hawke the default in 2?

But in some cases our Warden was used in Awakening, rather than the Orlesian Warden Commander so in some cases he/she wouldn't exist. I dunno, I reckons it's either a stand in for Hawke's LI or sibling, or it really is just a random npc that'll we'll be introduced to in the game.

They said it wasn't our Warden/ the Hero of Ferelden

 

As for Hawke, I don't recall there being any confirmation on what gender they used

Yeah far as I know.

I believe ML said "That is not THE Warden." So I am going to be honest...I have no clue who that Warden could be. If it is a stand in for Hawke's LI or a very different version of his/her sibling. 

 

I think it's possible for it to be a LI...though that LI's appearance has drastically changed*to me the warden looks like a cross between Sebastian and Anders*. I have a little theory but I think it is most likely wrong...so...

My preferences, in order:

 

1. The Warden featured in the trailer was the Orlesian Warden-Commander because the Hero of Ferelden in that particular game is dead. If your Hero of Ferelden is alive, they will be featured in that scene instead. Notice Mike said the Warden in the trailer "is" not THE Warden, not that they "could never be" THE Warden.
2. The Warden featured in the trailer is a NPC stand-in for either Hawke's love interest or Hawke's sibling, because in that particular game Hawke either didn't romance anyone or romanced Anders and killed him, and both siblings are dead. If Hawke's love interest or surviving sibling is still alive, they will be featured in that scene instead.
3. The Warden featured in the trailer is a NPC, either a brand new character we've never met before, or someone we have with a Frostbite makeover.

It seems like a wasted opportunity if that isn't a PC Warden, HoF or OWC...

it's just odd to me. this is a pretty important scene, and just to have some random warden jogging up there....it seems off. i would think that whoever it is would be important, but i just don;t know. it's a mystery.

I believe so too, but I also don't want to get my hopes up that it is HoF or OWC, but it turns out not to be true.

The thing I noticed in the trailer was that the frame(s) with Hawke, the Inquisitor, and the Grey Warden was that it looked like they were in the fade.

I wouldn't be surprise. In fact, I wouldn't be surprise if we went into the Fade a lot. If we did, I hope we get to drag in Cullen or Leliana or Josephine into it at least once. Be cool to see their reaction. Especially if Leliana has gone into the Fade before with the Warden.

I agree with you; I think there's a low chance of it being a random new NPC because every scene in a trailer is carefully constructed and chosen. That guy was shown to us for a reason.

W-what if it's more like the Breach has expanded to the point where the real world is starting to look like the Fade?

I wouldn't be surprise. In fact, I wouldn't be surprise if we went into the Fade a lot. If we did, I hope we get to drag in Cullen or Leliana or Josephine into it at least once. Be cool to see their reaction. Especially if Leliana has gone into the Fade before with the Warden.

That would be really cool but I would be even more happy if we could take our Advisors out on an adventure whenever we wanted. My rogue and Leliana could go all ninja!

That's possible, but I don't know...it just looks far too close to the real Fade to me. I would love for my Hawke to be in the real world but I just have a weird feeling that is not going to happen.

That's what I have speculated for a long time, and I think that is the most realistic/likely scenario.

Morrigan's Ring would be an interesting factor in this... if a male Warden has it, Morrigan knows where they are for sure. One of mine does have it, but his relationship with Morrigan is... sour. I'm curious to see what comes of it, if anything.

 

My headcanon is that Alistair has my Amell's phylactery, but his position as king means he can't just go gallivanting off on a rescue mission, as much as he'd like to.

As for my Hawkes' love interests, I'd hope they would be searching for her... though Sebastian has the same excuse of royalty as Alistair does.
