...Considering I may have missed it somewhere about female Wardens having kids...but...is it bad that I head canines my Mage Warden having a kid with Zevran?

Nah, I headcanon that m!Hawke and Fenris adopt an elven mage boy that Fenris gradually grows to love and then his heart finally melts when the kid calls him "father"......................

I'll show myself out now

It's generally believed that it's unlikely a female warden will be able to have children because of the taint.

...Least I don't feel bad. But that is a sweet moment! With my Warden's kid, she becomes pregnant just after the final fight, but since Awakening happens six months later...might not work. Either way, they have a daughter who has magic and Zevran is unable to see her until after his mission against the Antivan Crows.

Ah, right! He mentions the old ball and chain LOL I've only romanced Zevran, and he's so bugged out the arse that he doesn't even mention the Warden, so I forgot about that.

And that's in Act 3! Leliana says "Just like the Warden..." three years later.

That's for the HNF. For a mistress, he's a bit excited to get back to Denerim.

Leliana saying "...just like the warden..." unnerves me a bit. Especially the time I used a US. Makes me wonder, in that case, if Hawke is also dead, even the Varric states that he doesn't believe so.

I think he calls her that as a joke? Considering Teagan laughed about it and Alistair added more to the joke.

Definitely true, but then I kind of would want to encounter the LI in the game, you know, and have him/her say they've been searching ceaselessly, blah blah blah.

Otherwise it really and truly does feel like a cop-out. Drop some cash on that hour long VA session and stick 'em in there for a couple sentences, man lol

True, but they have to have a direction to go in, so to speak. I'd imagine Zev and Leliana sending out agents to search for clues, and Alistair contacting Leliana for help even if he's a warden and not king.

I guess my save file must have been bugged, because I only ever got the generic line from King Alistair during that quest. "She has a name, you know!" :(

Thanks for the replies. I hear a lot about English speakers not liking subtitles, so it's interesting to hear something else.

For other media, I have a bit of the opposite problem. I'm so used to subtitles since before I learned English, even now that I don't need them I have a hard time keeping my eyes from them when I'm at the movies, for example, but I try. In fact, I'm so used to subtitles, I miss them when watching movies in my own language, because I miss words here and there and it pisses me off xD But for media like Dragon Age I insist on subtitles to make sure I don't miss anything and learn the lore words. And I have a harder time with British English, so it helps with that too.

Being in anime fandom as well sub vs dub is quite debate XD Personally I always watch things with subs if possible. I'm from Finland that dubs only children shows so every movie and tv-show is subbed. And games aren't even subbed in finnish, I have to go with english sub! My dad hates it since his english isn't that good so he needs me to translate from time-to-time.

Question: Do any if you believe that how you solve the mage-templar war will affect how and if your relationships will progress? I.E Cullen will no longer be a romance option due to you siding with the mages or it will throw some sort of wrench into it? Just food for thought.

No, I really don't think it will. They have said that choosing to, say, side with Leliana every time will not affect your ability to romance Cullen or Josie.

I think SR meant more as if you pick mages or templars, not necessarily the adviser that you chose.

I have a question for everyone!

So I have never actually done a canon play-through for DA:O and am currently in the midst of doing so. I have a female Tabris as my warden and I really want to make a political marriage between Alistair and Anora. My question is: if I harden Alistair will he take my warden as his mistress if he marries Anora?

It honestly depends. If the Hinterlands tell us anything, both mages and templars have absolutely fallen apart and are destroying the landscape. I think if you pick the mages, and they are doing awful things, I'd imagine Cullen would obviously question your choice.

Yes he will :) make sure you do the dialogue carefully though, I've been duped before. Make sure you look up the right options.

And obviously, harden only. Not 'squishy' Alistair.

Yes, I think so. Make sure he does the DR :P

Oh I know, I was just using it as an example to try to reassure her that maybe we don't have to choose Templars to romance Cullen. You didn't have to do so to romance Fenris after all.

Ooo, yay--thank you! I just want to see a bickering married Alistair and Anora in DA:I (totes head-cannoning that) but I can't handle not having Alistair for my warden as well. What can I say--I'm attached! ^_^

Possibly. I think it depends how the situation plays out. If the mage option is to let mages be free and templars role be reduced then he probaply stays with you. However if it's like: let's side with mages and burn templars to death then I doubt your relationship with him would stay as good as it was. Personally I hope that there is middle ground and probaply Cullen will appreciate that most as well.

Yeah, I doubt choosing mages would break the relationship entirety. I imagine he'll have something to say about it, though-- then again, it really depends on the type of Templars they are. Choosing Templars might tick Cullen right the hell off if they're, say... Lambert's crew.

To be honest, I do think the Hinterlands Templars are the remnants of Lambert's crew...and they're killing innocent people, so I don't think Cullen would take kindly to that.

Okay, okay. I know the first reaction to this is 'CULLEN', and trust me I love some Cullen! That close up of that dragon is interesting, though...

My favorite was having Hawke show up, cause that was a moment that had everyone screaming at their computer screen.

I have played DAO so many times so I am going to have so many characters that I want to create a World State for.

The first character I ever made was a Male Human and he was a rogue so that means he was a Cousland. He romanced Morrigan went down the OGB route and then went with her through our favorite mirror. So he had the happiest ending...I hope!

Since I create characters of both genders so I can get a difference experience/full experience out of a game my next character was a female mage so that is how I was truly introduced to Cullen. Now I'm a guy and straight so it's not like I found his character appealing *look- wise* but I found his character appealing due to the potential he had to grow.

Which we saw when our mage went back to the circle and found Cullen traumatized. Then we move onto DA2 and we see how much he has grown/matured which made me proud of the writers/creators of Cullen. In the end I am looking forward to seeing how Cullen has changed/grown as a character so I will probably romance him with a female mage just to see what that is like but I am just happy that we are able to see a character development across three games.

My third character was a male elven mage who got with Leliana and sacrificed himself so Alistair*his bro* could live.

My last character *That I will make a note of* was a female human noble which is also one of my favorites. I could describe all my characters for quite a while but I think this one would be the longest so I will keep it short. She romanced Alistair and was a bitter enemy of Morrigan*so much so she stabbed her...* Any way what happened in the end was something that surprised me and pissed me off. I took my normal party Wynne, Leliana, and Alistair to face off with the archdemon...and there was no ritual so I think you know what happens with Alistair in the party.

I did not know that happened since I was like my character is going to sacrifice herself so Alistair can rule and try to move on...NOPE! That was not what happened and I was pissed off at myself since I found Alistair so funny and a great character, even though I was mad I did not reload or change what happened. So that would be an interesting World State.

So as you can tell I am going to have quite a time with DAI, lol!

I think Cullen is probably more pro-Mage than he is pro-Templar right now, so picking the Templars over the Mages and then trying to re-establish things as they were would be a colossal mistake in his eyes, as it'd mean all those death meant nothing and didn't solve anything.

While I can cut her some slack for having just been through torture, I always think that Leliana's comment in the Redcliffe demo ("I want the world back") is at best hopefully naive and at worst, completely ignorant of everything that has lead up to this point.

The world Leliana wants back may have been peaceful, but it was built on an inherently flawed and fundamentally broken system. It reminds me of her comments to an Elven Warden in Origins where she's surprised to realise that she'd never questioned the inherent second-class citizenship status of Elves in Thedas and seemed to believe that the Elves were actually happy with being subservient to humans at every turn, because that was the way it had always been.

I think that Cullen on the other hand, probably recognises that things need to change.
