as far as I'm concerned this whole game's gonna turn into one giant orgy for me, everyone seems amazing
That and I ship her with Regalyan from Dawn of the Seeker. They were too cute.

I tried once in DAO and once again in DA2 to play a male character, I think in DA2 I got to lvl 6, it just felt so odd, I was really, really disconnected from him, his voice, animations, everything just felt alien. I don't event think it was to do with role-playing (I'm hopeless at that). I suppose I must project myself, to an extent in my characters, so obviously playing male was too far off the beaten track for me.
All the revealed romances look and sound really good from what we know so far, I'm hoping I can break my own mold and try a few different ones out, it seems a shame to not experience them. Based on my own track history though, it's unlikely to happen, I'll just end up reading about all your quizzys and their romances in your fanfics
.
I don't get a kick out of the total "opposites attract" thing either, there has to be chemistry but I'd rather it be of the loving, supportive kind than constant fireworks and drama.
I don't need a "yes" man (although there are situations that's more than alright
) but alternatively, constantly butting heads in the name of love seems like too much hard work.

If this has been asked I'm sorry, but will all inquisitors be called the Herald of Andraste or will title depend on the PC?
Patrick Weekes @PatrickWeekes
That's sort of a spoiler. Rest assured, I believe we handle it in a way devout Andrastians and atheists alike can take.
Phew! lol I trust this reply ![]()
I wasn't really worried. I mean... it makes SENSE for Andrastians (who aren't sceptical but are 'believers') to consider the Inquisitor sent by Andraste/the Maker, no matter who the Inquisitor is.
It will be interesting if they included options for the Dalish PC to consider themselves saved by the Creators, though.
Still, I hope there's a good amount of suspicion too, 'cause... man, the Fade is wack. If people are gonna throw fits over mages, then someone falling out of the Fade should earn some side eyeing. ![]()
I don't really mind my Inq being called the Herald and my circle mages and elves are going to have a field day with it considering how they have been treated in the past by so called Andrastians. It could be interesting walking round the keep and seeing all the templars and what not dropping to their knees or bowing to you or just standing in awe, dumbstruck in your presence lol.
It could also be interesting, how you overcome that pedestal that your no doubt going to be placed on and how you deal with others.
I am also keen to see how this affects a relationship with Cullen, how he would overcome the no touchy of the chosen one, also the implications of being the lover to one.

I'm personally hoping Cullen will be one of the more sceptical ones/won't necessarily believe the 'Herald' stuff. We already have Leliana, who I imagine will believe that kind of thing, and possibly Cass as she's been called a 'believer'. We need some Andrastians who question that sort of thing too.
So here's something fun I ganked from the Varric thread (love you Varric thread!) It's a questionnaire for your Inquisitor, if you have any planned~SpoilerI removed a couple of questions about background/family and stuff, seeing we don't know what Bioware has planned for the different backgrounds beyond the bare bones.(Fine. Screw you, quote code.)
Oh, thanks for sharing! This looks fun. Have you filled it out yet? ![]()

I was just waiting for a post or two before I did, so I wouldn't have three posts in a row.

I am sort of hoping he would be half way. We know he is religious already, so for him to not have some part of him believe it, doesn't make sense to me. For him to be sceptical in the beginning, sure absolutely. I don't want him acting on blind faith. But I don't want him to be completely wrapped up in it either.
I kind of hope it will be a gradual evolving thing. Going from sceptical to believer to accepting you're still a person but with an important task given to you.

As someone who is spiritual I can't help but side eye the notion someone being religious but sceptical 'doesn't make sense'. Especially if they've gone through the types of things Cullen has and has reason to question what he's told. Even more so when he is/was a Templar and knows the dangers of the Fade/knows strange sh!t be goin' on with that place.
Eh, I don't know. It's almost a bit insulting if there isn't an Andrastian in existence that questions that stuff. Especially when it involves something like the Fade, which is a weird arse place in itself.
(Also I just think there's a potential with this 'Herald' thing to make a very manipulative and creepy romance if not handled right. Which, I guess is what I'm most worried about.)

I didn't say it didn't make sense for him to be religious and sceptical. I think he would be in the beginning for sure. Some strange no body happen to drop out of the fade, surviving something that killed everybody else and claiming some almighty being from the realm of demons touched them and gave them the power to end the destruction. He would absolutely have every right to question that and I think he would. But I think eventually he will see enough evidence to support that claim, enough that he could believe it to be true. He called us the Herald, some part of him has to believe that or he would never call us that, even just in name, it would be sacrilegious to him I would think.
I don't think a romance would be creepy in that respect. I think it would take a lot of careful handling, that's why I think or hope its a gradual transformation in his belief of who we are, to come to a point where he can say ok she is still just a person with an important role.

I wouldn't mind a gradual thing, I suppose. I guess I'm just wary of that sort of view being tied to romance, because I've seen it explored in other types of stories and... well, it always came across as rape to me. Just because there was a feeling that they couldn't say no to someone they believed to be a Herald of their religion/a reborn religious figure/someone sent by a religious figure.
It's kind of like how Shepard/James Vega seems like rape in the Citadel DLC, because Shepard basically cajoles him until he gives in to his superior officer.
Mmph!
I do have faith in the DA writers. I guess it's just a knee-jerk aversion to the idea on my part.

I see where you're coming from there, I would really hate for him to feel obliged to romance us because of who we are, That would be so wrong. I hated the Shepard Vega thing too.
I think they would do anything to avoid that sort of situation.
The whole "the Herald" thing did have me wondering about how the relationship dynamics would gel. I'm not concerned now, as you guys have said, I'm pretty sure it will be written well, with a number of options, outs or ins in the dialogue trees.
My main concern was with Cullen, part of me had thought perhaps his beliefs may have been jaded given events that he has witnessed but then I thought, from what we see in the clips, even non-believers may have a hard time believing what they just saw, so anyone with an ounce of faith may have that faith strengthened or renewed.
As long as we are given the option with Cullen or any of the LI/companions, to pretty much take them aside and kind of :
quizzy - Cullen, this needs to stop dude
Cullen - Huh? what do you mean Herald?
quizzy - precisely that! I need you to see me as human/elf/dwarf/qunari, I can't be in a relationship with you if you can't see us as equals.
Cullen - But..but...
quizzy - BUT nothing, it's your decision but I want you to love/admire me for who I am NOT what I might represent.
My writing skills are craptastic but you get the general idea of what I mean, I hope lol.
I've never done any of these things before, I've actually enjoyed trying to imagine my first quizzy, I've tried to keep it within the bounds of what I think I can play from a role-play stance. (I hope the spoiler tags work!).Spoiler
Your Quizzy sounds adorable! I want to hug her, poor babe. ;A;
And uuungh, her development story as the game progresses will be beautiful.

Something like this definitely. I was thinking along the lines of maybe having the inquisitor express her interest in him to him. He maybe backing off saying it would be improper given who you are as Herald and the quizzy although disappointed backs off, this is how he feels I can't change that, and leaves it at that sort of thing. Then through the course of the game, his opinion of you begins to change until he eventually comes to you and says, you know what I was wrong, this is what I want.

And I also have a Tabris/Cailin one shot in need of editing. Whaaaaat? Tabris and Cailin? That's just weird! Yeah, I know, but it is totally going to be hawt! ![]()

I am on a family vacay in Hawaii right now, and it is very nice here. Flight was very smooth. And the second part of it was at night, which was really nice! I love night flights. Shame about the lack of news, but I suppose Pax is coming.
Thanks.

Even if that were true, if I've learned anything from Bioware games, it's to save obsessively.
