I tried once in DAO and once again in DA2 to play a male character, I think in DA2 I got to lvl 6, it just felt so odd, I was really, really disconnected from him, his voice, animations, everything just felt alien. I don't event think it was to do with role-playing (I'm hopeless at that). I suppose I must project myself, to an extent in my characters, so obviously playing male was too far off the beaten track for me.

All the revealed romances look and sound really good from what we know so far, I'm hoping I can break my own mold and try a few different ones out, it seems a shame to not experience them. Based on my own track history though, it's unlikely to happen, I'll just end up reading about all your quizzys and their romances in your fanfics .

I don't get a kick out of the total "opposites attract" thing either, there has to be chemistry but I'd rather it be of the loving, supportive kind than constant fireworks and drama.

I don't need a "yes" man (although there are situations that's more than alright ) but alternatively, constantly butting heads in the name of love seems like too much hard work.

I wasn't really worried. I mean... it makes SENSE for Andrastians (who aren't sceptical but are 'believers') to consider the Inquisitor sent by Andraste/the Maker, no matter who the Inquisitor is. 

 

It will be interesting if they included options for the Dalish PC to consider themselves saved by the Creators, though.

 

Still, I hope there's a good amount of suspicion too, 'cause... man, the Fade is wack. If people are gonna throw fits over mages, then someone falling out of the Fade should earn some side eyeing.

He would absolutely have every right to question that and I think he would. But I think eventually he will see enough evidence to support that claim, enough that he could believe it to be true. I don't think a romance would be creepy in that respect. I think it would take a lot of careful handling, that's why I think  or hope its a gradual transformation in his belief of who we are, to come to a point where he can say ok she is still just a person with an important role.

Cullen, Cass, Varric and possibly Sera - Cullen & Cass seem as though they would be patient with her, encourage her to grow as a person, giving her confidence in herself and her decisions. Varric & Sera seem as though they would be gentle with her all the while kind of digging at her and hardening her up with a little teasing.

 

16. Who will they romance, if anyone?

 

Cullen - As above, I think he will be patient with her, from what we've seen so far, she has been hurtled into the centre of attention, the last place she wants to be, I think he will be her rock when everything goes crazy.

 

17. Do they have any scars? What are they from?

 

Large linear facial scar down her right cheek from just below her eye, to her jawline - A time when she tried to NOT be a mage, learning to sword fight and found out in the most painful way, how difficult it was.

 

18. If they met, how would your Inquisitor get along with your Warden? Your Hawke?

 

I don't think she would like or dislike Warden although she probably wouldn't be in her company, too much attention. I do think she would get on well with Hawke though, kind of like a cousin relationship although my Hawke would be similar to Varric & Sera, gentle but pushy, toughening her up.

She will be very open-minded but probably quite fearful of everyone around her, new people (race regardless), scare her.

I see where you're coming from there, I would really hate for him to feel obliged to romance us because of who we are, That would be so wrong. I hated the Shepard Vega thing too.

The whole "the Herald" thing did have me wondering about how the relationship dynamics would gel. I'm not concerned now, as you guys have said, I'm pretty sure it will be written well, with a number of options, outs or ins in the dialogue trees.

 

My main concern was with Cullen, part of me had thought perhaps his beliefs may have been jaded given events that he has witnessed but then I thought, from what we see in the clips, even non-believers may have a hard time believing what they just saw, so anyone with an ounce of faith may have that faith strengthened or renewed.

As long as we are given the option with Cullen or any of the LI/companions, to pretty much take them aside and kind of :

Something like this definitely. I was thinking along the lines of maybe having the inquisitor express her interest in him to him. He maybe backing off saying it would be improper given who you are as Herald and the quizzy although disappointed backs off, this is how he feels I can't change that, and leaves it at that sort of thing.Then through the course of the game, his opinion of you begins to change until he eventually comes to you and says, you know what I was wrong, this is what I want.

Hmm. I want to say grey, but I'm going to say silver. She's conflicted about a lot of things in her life right now, such as her struggles with reconciling her faith in Andraste and the Maker and her feelings towards the Chantry, and feels like she's treading on a very fine line in between a lot of issues, but when she's sure about something, she's got a will of steel.

 

2. If they were an animal, which would they be?

 

A wolf. Her family and friends are extremely important to her, and she can be fiercely loyal, playful and protective. She's also very quiet and observant, but around people she's comfortable with she becomes more talkative. When she's away from her loved ones, she can get very lonely and mournful. She is at her best when she's with people to remind her of the small details, because she has a tendency to only consider the big picture.

 

3. Which music genre would best describe your Inquisitor?

 

Hmm. Well, she is a very talented piano player (she calls it her "mandatory useless noble talent", but really she adores music and she's proud of all the hard work she put into her lessons), so classical, I suppose. She'd love show-tunes and musicals as well. I think she'd love anything you could dance to as well, but she wouldn't like dub-step or anything like that. Ohh. Adele. 

 

4. What season reflects their personality best?

 

Spring - lots of quiet potential, waiting to be cultivated into something more. Uncertainty as to what kind of person she'll grow into. More than what meets the eye, but you have to be willing to give her a chance and really look.

 

5. If your Inquisitor was a force of nature, what kind would they be? (hurricane, earthquake, etc.)

 

A monsoon. Erratic, chaotic-- sometimes a monsoon will seem like it'll have stopped completely, but then it'll come back, stronger and more terrifying than before. Relentless.

 

6. What’s their alignment? 

 

Something in between true neutral and lawful neutral. She will do what she feels needs to be done, even if it isn't necessarily the right or moral thing to do, but she'll always try and do the right thing, and when she can't, it'll eat at her. But she was taught that sometimes what is right is not always what is needed, which is why she tends to look at the big picture rather than the small details. ("30 people will die here so 100 people over there can live." sorta thing. But when faced with the 30 people that have to die she gets very distressed.)

 

7. Which element best describes them?

 

Air. Quick, constant momentum, adaptable. People depend on her, even if she thinks she's not worth it. 

 

8. What scent would they be associated with, if any?

 

Oranges and lillies from the scented water she likes to wear, leather, a little bit of something sharp and smoky like gunpowder--she likes to tinker with things. 

 

9. Are they better with children, animals, or neither?

 

She's good with children, since she's got a huge family. Lots of cousins of varying ages, some of them around her age who are already married and have little children and babies of her own. She's also got a younger sister who she's very close to because their mother died giving birth to her, so she sort of filled in, so to speak. She likes animals, but from a distance. She does not particularly get along with horses. She thinks they look at her funny, or something.

 

10. What’s the Inquisitor’s favourite food?

 

BAGELS AND CREAM CHEESE. Although the bagel is more of a formality. (Cream cheese).

 

11. Can they cook?

 

Lol. No. She can mix things together and then burn them. 

 

12. Do they have any hobbies?

 

She loves to play the piano, and she adores music. She can sing, but prefers to listen to other people sing. She also likes to free run and climb. She almost has this need to be in constant motion at all times, both physically and mentally-- look down, know the risks, keep going, but never look back. Never stop. Can't stop or else you'll start to doubt, and that's when you fall. Music is the only time she'll ever really slow down and relax. 

 

13. Are they very fashion-conscious or more practical?

 

There are a few things she loves about being a noblewoman-- the constant availability of delicious cream cheese, and access to Orlesian fashion. She loves pretty clothes and pretty shoes, although she stays away from the more absurd and crazy fashion trends. I'd describe her style as elegant and chic. She likes to look good, but she doesn't want to go overboard.

Surprisingly neat. 

 

15. Who do you think they’ll get along with best among their companions, if any?

 

Dorian, Varric, Iron Bull, Sera and Josephine (yes I know she's not a companion.) Possibly Blackwall. And Cullen, although it comes as a surprise to them both.

 

16. Who will they romance, if anyone?

 

Cullen. Trust is a very important thing to them both, and despite all the suspicion and doubt directed at her at first, of everyone, she ends up trusting Cullen first. Mostly because he's patient with her (albeit exasperated), and because he was kind to her at a time when she was alone and under suspicion. At first he thinks that she's reckless and irresponsible, but as he gets to know her better, he learns that that's not all there is to her. After a while, they become friends, and they open up to each other and learn that they can rely on the other if they need to. -Small scar along the right side of her jawline, near her ear. She got it when she was first learning to use her daggers, and she clipped herself because she was trying to do fancy and cool looking hand movements with them in front of the mirror. 

 

-A small burn mark on the side of her right forearm from her older brother, who accidentally burned her with his magic when they were children and it was first starting to manifest. 

 

-A long scar on her left leg that runs from her ankle and the middle of her calve. She got it when she fell from a (mercifully short) building and she cut herself on a loose roof shingle.

 

-The fade scar thing.

 

18. If they met, how would your Inquisitor get along with your Warden? Your Hawke?

 

She would get along fine with my Hawke, but it would take a while for Elissa to warm up to my Quizzy. But they'd get along.

-No particular thoughts on the elves, Dalish or City. She doesn't really think of them.

 

-She thinks the dwarves are really cool because of their "Dwarven crafts! Fine dwarven crafts!" Again, she likes to tinker. 

 

-She doesn't know much about the Qunari, but what she does know freaks her out a little. She's wary of them.
