My Inquisitor is not going to be impressed at being a Herald of anybody.

Inquisitor: *spit-takes* What? What do you mean Herald of Bloody Andraste? I'm not a- a what even is a Herald anyway?

Varric: (grinning) sort of like a messenger. Just roll with it, it could be fun!

Inquisitor: I thought I was supposed to be the leader here, not the bloody paper-boy! What are you laughing at?

Varric: We-ell... The inquisition can probably afford a couple of pints. And there's the hat.

Hope it's not late to show a bit of my Inquisitor. As in the little piece I've written, her name is Anastasia Trevalyan and she's a human mage.

1. What colour best represents them?
White. At the first, it looks so mundane and ordinary, but when you spend time studying it, you realize that white colour is much more complex as it is a combination of all colours of the visible spectrum.

2. If they were an animal, which would they be?
A caged bird. As a mage, she has all the means to be free and independent, but cannot because of the chantry and templars.

3. Which music genre would best describe your Inquisitor?
Depending on the mood, but mostly genre doesn’t matter as long as it’s instrumental, especially violin or piano.

4. What season reflects their personality best?
Spring. At the beginning of the game she’s just one of many mages, but at the end she’ll blossom into an exceptional being thanks to the experience.

5. If your Inquisitor was a force of nature, what kind would they be? (hurricane, earthquake, etc.)
Wind. Meek and kind like the softest of breezes, caring and loving like a warm summer wind, angry and cruel like a hurricane. She can be all this if needed.

6. What’s their alignment?
Neutral good.

7. Which element best describes them?
Ahem, wind

8. What scent would they be associated with, if any?
Wow, that’s tricky I have no idea, to tell the truth. Maybe grass? The way it smells when it’s freshly cut (my sympathies to all allergic people who cannot enjoy the wonderful scent)

9. Are they better with children, animals, or neither?
Children. She was used to deal with them in the Tower of Magi a lot.

10. What’s the Inquisitor’s favourite food?
A hot soup. No matter what kind. Just a soup.

11. Can they cook?
Nope. No cooking lessons in the Tower She cannot make even her own tea.

12. Do they have any hobbies?
She loves art. Watching paintings, admiring architecture, listening to music...

13. Are they very fashion-conscious or more practical?
Practical, but she also tries to wear something that suits her, too. Usually it’s something with a pocket or skirts where she can hide her staff (it’s magical and can be turned into inconspicuously looking stick). She always keeps it nearby – save for the only one moment when she was chasing after a very naughty mare O:-)

14. Are they neat or unorganised?
She’s chaotically organized – she sees order in it, while others are clueless.

15. Who do you think they’ll get along with best among their companions, if any?

Varric, because she enjoys a good story (she loves art even in its spoken form). Sera, because so far I’ve got the impression the elf would be an amazing person to meet. And Cole, because he’s very child-like.

16. Who will they romance, if anyone?
Heh, needless to say, Cullen

17. Do they have any scars? What are they from?
Under her right eye from being slapped by a templar.

18. If they met, how would your Inquisitor get along with your Warden? Your Hawke?
My Warden would be cautious. She doesn’t have much experience with mages and she’s seen what happened in Kinloch. But she’d like her eventually, I guess. Hawke would adopt a role of an elder sister, trying to teach her what it really is to be a mage outside the Circle. She’d also teach her the meaning of irony and sarcasm, because according to my Hawke, Anastasia is incredibly naive and far too kind for her own good

19. What’s your Inquisitor’s opinion on each of the various races, if any?
As a mage, she understands all about prejudice. So she judges people based on their characters, not race.

17. Do they have any scars? What are they from? Several, but she won't talk about them. (Won't decide if she gets a facial scar until I see the CC)

 

18. If they met, how would your Inquisitor get along with your Warden? Your Hawke? If Ozera were still alive, they'd have to get past the "so you're an Aeducan" moment, but once they got over that, yes. Zhenya and Hawke would get drunk together and end up doing something like painting graffiti on the side of Skyhold.

 

19. What’s your Inquisitor’s opinion on each of the various races, if any? She tends to treat people as individuals more than part of groups, though she's a bit wary of dwarves from underground because of the whole casteless attitude.

1. What colour best represents them? -- Raspberry. It's a lively colour, and one that works very well as an accent. It's also a party colour. He isn't exactly what one could call a party orientated individual, but the humour and light hearted air about the colour suits him well. It's also a passionate colour.

 

2. If they were an animal, which would they be? -- Weasel. An animal that's charming and a little bit of a rogue, that's clever, swift and can be conniving to a point. He's not malicious in any of his intents, but he doesn't mind considering unlawful solutions to problems.

 

3. Which music genre would best describe your Inquisitor? -- Real rock and roll. Classy beats, catchy tunes, and the kind of music that can get you moving. Something with a beat that isn't too soft or hard and isn't too slow. 

 

4. What season reflects their personality best? -- Autumn. No symbolic reasons here. He just likes the colour of the dying leaves, scarf weather, and messing up the leaf piles.

 

5. If your Inquisitor was a force of nature, what kind would they be? (hurricane, earthquake, etc.) -- Tornado. Unpredictable and creative. He can be something as slight as a whirlwind to something much stronger and much more startling. If his temper is triggered, if someone has treated his companions badly, then he can be incredibly unforgiving.  

 

6. What’s their alignment? -- Chaotic Good most of the time. Sometimes less so. He tries to be compassionate where he can, but he has little care for authority and a privileged lifestyle means he sometimes doesn't think about the less fortunate unless they're right in front of him. He also dabbles in thievery. 

 

7. Which element best describes them? -- Wood. Sturdy and strong in some instances, flexible in others. He can also be surprisingly reliable and stead fast, despite his general attitude. 

 

8. What scent would they be associated with, if any? -- Newly oiled leather.

 

9. Are they better with children, animals, or neither? -- Animals. He's not really a kid person. It's not that he doesn't like them, he's just averse to having to deal with them. Particularly with the whole 'gotta continue the family line' thing the nobles talk about.

 

10. What’s the Inquisitor’s favourite food? -- Turkey and cranberry sauce. Because delicious.

 

11. Can they cook? -- Well, he can cook charred rabbit if that counts? 

 

12. Do they have any hobbies? -- Pick pocketing, purse cutting, and stealing from other nobility. He does this because he's bored more than anything else. He also participates in some classy, quality trolling. Also woodcarving.

 

13. Are they very fashion-conscious or more practical? -- He wears what he wants. He does favour comfort and practicality over fanciful layers, but that's more because he likes simple over complicated designs. He likes fabulous hats and hoods, though. Whatever makes him look like a proper rogue, really. 

 

14. Are they neat or unorganised? -- Unorganised. His desk probably drives people like Cullen and Cassandra batty.

 

15. Who do you think they’ll get along with best among their companions, if any? -- I doubt he'll butt heads with anyone in particular, because he's difficult to rile on a personal level. Still, Dorian and Varric will likely be the two he gets along best with. Sera and Iron Bull too in moderation, though he might find both a little too crude at times. Cole he'll likely treat as a brother he can teach the ways of the troll too.

 

16. Who will they romance, if anyone? -- The dashing Dorian. 

 

17. Do they have any scars? What are they from? -- A thin line across his nose. It's bit of an embarrassing story, actually. He didn't receive it from some fight the bards will sing of, instead he accidentally nicked himself when he was fist learning to twirl his daggers so he could look fancy. Oops.

 

18. If they met, how would your Inquisitor get along with your Warden? Your Hawke? -- He'd get along well with both. He'd definitely gravitate towards Donovan Hawke more than Maeve Amell, though. She'd spend at least some of the time sighing at the two boys, while Hawke and Trevelyan spent their time being the opposite of serious. 

 

19. What’s your Inquisitor’s opinion on each of the various races, if any? -- Man, they can do whatever they want. He's cool with anyone that don't act like a dick towards him or those he cares about. He might have some issues with the way the Qun does things, but only if he's directly confronted with it.

Okay, I love doing these because I find out more about my character. XD Technically, Anais is me because she will be the character I make decisions based on my viewpoint - otherwise, she has a few of her own quirks and personality.

Oxford blue. I know, specific right? It's actually my favorite color, but it fits Anais because she is typically a calm person until she goes off the deep end like most redheads.

A butterfly. She has had to transform herself based on new obstacles coming her way. First her magic, then Knight Enchanting, the Mage/Templar war, now becoming the leader of the Inquisition. Her friends from her home Circle would say she was never the same person with different people but Anais' love and dedication for her friends remained the same.

 

3. Which music genre would best describe your Inquisitor?

Alternative.

 

4. What season reflects their personality best?

Fall. Animals scamper about preparing for a long winter, only resting when they believe all is ready.

 

5. If your Inquisitor was a force of nature, what kind would they be? (hurricane, earthquake, etc.)

A storm. It may start slow or show up unexpectedly; lightning may strike a mile away or up close - just don't test it.

 

6. What’s their alignment?

Anais is Neutral Good. People complain that she is just on the fence waiting to join whatever side could win, but this is far from true. She fights for those who cannot fight for themselves. And, she's not exactly above grey practices such as assassination and blackmail, especially if her opponent isn't receptive. 

 

7. Which element best describes them?

Fire (naturally). It may kindle, but add wood and the flame will grow stronger.

 

8. What scent would they be associated with, if any?

Sandalwood. 

 

9. Are they better with children, animals, or neither?

She is better with kids. In her home circle she was going to start teaching apprentices before the war broke out - she was always one of the first to greet the new arrivals and make them feel better. Animals were mostly absent in her life except for the stray bird or lizard that would get in the tower. She has a slight aversion to birds since they always seem to get tangled in her hair, or poop on her shoulder. Anais once caught an owl with her cloak however, and thought it was one of the most beautiful creatures she had ever seen - until it screeched at her. Horses have quickly become her favorite animal since she has to travel on one frequently. 

 

10. What’s the Inquisitor’s favourite food?

Beef stew. It's warm, and has everything you could ever need in the bowl: potatos, greens, beef. To her, it's heaven. 

 

11. Can they cook?

HELL NO. Like most mages, Anais was served food her entire life and never learned to cook. She relies on other people to do that for her.

 

12. Do they have any hobbies?

She enjoys learning swordplay. Being a Knight Enchanter takes a great deal of concentration, but learning to let lose with her arcane swords was a relief - and fun. Sitting in the sun and reading is also a favorite.

 

13. Are they very fashion-conscious or more practical?

She is mostly practical, but looking nice is a bonus. Heels on the battlefield are a no-no however.

 

14. Are they neat or unorganised?

Anais has her own organized chaos. Papers and scrolls are everywhere, but ask her for something and she can find it in a second.

 

15. Who do you think they’ll get along with best among their companions, if any?

Right now...I think Dorian, Varric, Sera, Cassandra, Solas, Iron Bull, Josephine and Cullen. Dorian may be her BFF, following Solas and Cassandra.

Anais has a scar across the bridge of her nose from a templar. He punched her for standing up for her friend, so the scar and the bent bridge are a result. She has a large burn covering the expanse of her left shoulder and up her neck, a sword slash from her right shoulder blade to the small of her back, and claw marks from the claws of an abomination across her abdomen. 

 

18. If they met, how would your Inquisitor get along with your Warden? Your Hawke?

Anais would get along fairly well with Finola Hawke (another mage). Finola is a great deal more sarcastic, and would make Anais giggle-snort as much as Sera and Iron Bull would.

Kylan Amell, however, is a different story. They would not get along what-so-ever. Kylan is very manipulative, and Anais has been around too many people like that so she has little tolerance. It would turn into a fight.

Anais is a little intimidated by the qunari, a fact the Iron Bull enjoys to tease her with. She finds their culture interesting, but definitely not for her.

When it comes to the elves, she sees many similarities between their struggle and the mage struggle. She thinks they are a beautiful race that deserve respect.

Varric is the first dwarf Anais has ever met. She isn't sure if he has ruined her expectations or exceeded them.
