Come on people. This person is a dragon age fan like you, and If they didn't do it someone else would have. Even if they did it with intent, it doesn't make them a bad person, let alone should face the full force of a legal team. Lets screw over some 18 year old whatever person and their families by sueing them for breaking a NDA, ruining their lives. You do not know anything about them and it could just as easily have been you.

Let the fandom shun them so they know breaking a NDA is wrong, but lets not blow it out of proportion. Dragon age Inquisition is not going to be ruined from this.
Dragonaging has done a lot for promoting dragon age inquisition and providing fans with information. So has everythingdragonageinquisition.

Most people aren't even looking for spoilers about this game, 99 percent of people see the trailer and buy it or not buy it when the date comes. The only ones that are affected are the ones with the vested interest in the game. The sales will not change.

 

I have to completely disagree with you. If you sign an NDA and BREAK IT, you bet your arse you should suffer the legal consequences YOU agreed to in the first place. It could not have 'easily been any of us', not if people have at least a sliver of respect for the developers, legal documentation and an NDA they agreed to.

 

It ticks me right off when crap like this happens. It's not a fan 'making a mistake teehee'. It's just disrespect, someone thinking they can be a petty 'rebel' and 'go against authority', or they're after internet fame for leaking what everyone wants to know about. Whatever it is they were in the wrong. :/

A contract is a contract. When u sign it u r saying that u r of legal age and that u understand and agree to the terms if the contract. Period. In the contract, there's always a spot that explains the rights of both parties n what legal actions will be taken if the contract is broken.

yup, the person breaking this contract is technically bad. Yes legal actions should be taken. If it does anything 'family', well maybe they should have thought of that by technically breaking the law. Its called a consequence, and I'm sick of ppl not paying foe their actions.

So yeah, they deserve whatever they get, they'll be lucky if Bioware doesn't do anything.

Just because sales won't change, doesn't make it right or ok.

That's like saying that stealing is ok because it won't affect the fact that ppl will still go shopping. Oh n then lets not arrest the person because it might affect his family. Pure bs.

Cass and Sear arguing with an increasingly annoyed Solas. What would they argue over? Sera is for the common folk, those who need help the most. Would Cass counter argue that if it meant saving Thedas leaving a village undefended would be right, but not good choice? Hmmmm

That's all I am saying, they are just someone who breached a NDA agreement. No more or less.

Hey if you are all for sueing ordinary citizens then go right ahead. How American.

Once again, no one will care when the game comes out, because most people are not on these forums or looking on tumblr or anything.
We can talk disrespect and feelings all we want. Legality and game sales are what happens in the end. They will be sued, rightly or wrongly, but there does not need to be a witchhunt against the tumblr pages or this user in question.

 

Yes, how dare companies have the right to protect their intellectual property. That's so 'American' of them. What arseholes for following the legal process and the contract the person who broke the NDA read, signed, and has full knowledge of. 

 

We are not talking about someone ignorant here. They KNEW their NDA.

 

Also? Companies are LEGALLY bound to follow the consequences of their NDA. Whether Bioware would want to take this person you're white knighting to court or not doesn't matter. They kind of HAVE to. It's a legal thing. 

 

Much like it's a legal thing that they have to protect their property from fan artists that make money off of their product if they know about it. Again, they're kind of legally bound to. 

 

It's not 'picking on the little people'. Especially when the 'little people' should be well aware of the contract they signed themselves/copyright laws/whatever.

 

And I'm done with this, because it's ridiculous and I shouldn't even have to defend a completely reasonable law.

I have to chime in and agree, at the very least it was a low blow, a kick in the cohones to the developers and to the many Keep beta-testers who wouldn't dream of breaking their NDA.

I'm glad the person has been caught and will be dealt with, I'd hate to have seen the rest of the testers tarred with the same brush.

Too many things are excused because its the internet, people need to start being answerable even if they think they can hide behind their screens.

Uh huh. I don't personally see leak as something so bad. It often happens and as fan it's nice to see more information as long it's not spoiling the actual game. I guess I can't just think this so much in devs and company's side ^^;

Actually, I think Sera won't get along with either. She seems pretty creeped out by Fade stuff from what we've seen, so Solas might be a bit odd to her too.

Regarding the leak:

Firstly, BioWare holds trust in the people that they choose to partake in a beta and it really sucks that that trust was broken, even if it was only by one person. They signed a legally binding agreement that would have stated the penalties they would incur if they broke it. If they are dumb enough and disrespectful enough to break the NDA then they deserve whatever action is taken against them.

Secondly, it annoys the hell out of me that someone that doesn't hold enough respect for all the people that have been working their butts off for years on bringing what I feel will be an epic game, got into the Keep beta when there are so many of us loyal fans that would not spit on BioWare by breaking the NDA that haven't yet selected for the beta and may not have any more chances of being selected because of the selfish acts of this individual. It is a spit in our faces almost as much as it is in BioWares.

Edit: I just want to add that this is why I have so much respect for fans like Lola who are given inside information and they keep it to themselves simply because they have been asked to.

My guess would be that Cassandra would think joking or silliness means Sera is not taking the events seriously, and Sera might think Cassandra is not very fun, but I only know a very superficial amount about them I'm afraid.

Cullenites, sorry to come breaking bad news but I just wanted to inform you all I may or may not return soon. My mother is currently in the hospital due to being punched in her head at her job and is bleeding very badly into her head. Sorry for the gruesome description but imma mess right now. We don't know if she's going to be okay. I hope I can rejoin you all soon and just put this into the past with her back healthy again soon!
