Wait...I missed where they announced the voice, how are they handling it?

The voice used in the "Explore the Dragon Age" (or something...?) trailer is confirmed as one of two voices for the male inquisitor.

Ahhh ok thanks, I thought you meant they revealed all the voices :)  I actually like that one, though I hope there will be a huge difference for all.

Yeah if I ever play a human male I wouldn't mind a nice, deep, sexy voice ;) But I figure if we have two options, one should be light and one should be deep. Same with the female voices. Who knows what that second voice will sound like though!

If one of the male voices end up similar to the Arishoks, I will not be unhappy ;)  It would make me play a male character more often for sure lol

I really do think elves are getting the short end of the stick here. Especially male elves, (since I don't forsee then going too deep for a female voice). It's weird that we'll probably be the only Dalish elf without an Irish or Welsh accent. I'm just thankful the backstory I have planned for my elf kind of explains it anyway.

I hope that one of the female voices is deeper. It'd be odd to have a female Vashoth with a high voice.

Yeah I definitely hope they have appropriate tones...it would be hard to take a Qun male seriously if he sounds just like male elf (please no!)

Stupid, sexy Cullen  seriously, can't wait for more information on Cullen... or anything tbh.  I need something to motivate me for my exams XD

But yeah, think this is getting slightly quieter now that all the hype of Cullen being confirmed as an LI is calming down (on the surface)  :D

Well the problem is, Qunari, (including non-qunari it seems if Redemption is anything to go by), dwarves and elves, are all known to have American accents. So the American has to fit all three. It's harder for males, think because they tend to go deeper, and I don't think they'll choose a 'masculine' voice for a female Inquisitor. This is one of the reasons my top choices for the female American VA are Grey DeLisle and Laura Bailey, because I feel like they could easily suit any of the races. (Using Rasaan from the comics as a reference because she's the only female qunari we've seen as of yet)

Yeah I definitely hope they have appropriate tones...it would be hard to take a Qun male seriously if he sounds just like male elf (please no!)

They are apparently exploring something that will alter the tone, but they do have to be careful because it very quickly sounds clearly artificially manipulated.

I'd like to just have multiple voices where to choose from for all races, not race-set voice since it'd be boring and might not fit to character you are doing ^^

Well, as you know, I agree 100% I mean especially considering we're Dalish; not only do I hope there's a choice for a "light" male voice, but it's also a shame that it can't be Irish or Welsh. It just doesn't make sense.

Well there's already a very deep voice available to male inquisitors, so that should fit a male qunari well enough :) Especially if he were raised outside of the qun by Fereldan parents (and hence the English accent).

I don't know about the PC voice thing. Perhaps it's because I liked the voices chosen for DA2 but every time more protagonist options are mentioned I think 'Noooo, that's so much voice acting - give the budget to the companions instead so we can have MOAR conversations!'. Which is silly really because it probably comes out of a different bucket of cash but I can't help it.

I hope the bunny brings/has brought you all many dollops of deliciousness. :)

If we had that option I'd finally make a male PC and romance my own self. Rrrow. *eyebrow waggle*

Yeah, now that the Dalish were given distinctive accents in DA2, I'm kinda bummed a Dalish protagonist won't have a lovely welsh or Irish accent. I'll probably go with the Brit accent for a human and a Dalish Inquisitor and the American accent for dwarf or Qunari. At least that's the plan right now, we'll see.

I understand where you're coming from, yeah. I do want tons of content beyond the voices for the PC. that said, only being able to play Hawke in DA2 really limited my desire to replay the game much. I have two full PTs, that's it. I just felt like I was playing the same person over and over. Mind you, I'm self limiting: I don't play as a male protagonist (I've never enjoyed it the few times I've tried) and I'm not the sort who feels the need to play every variation of class/major choices/LIs, etc -- unless it really interests me, I just YouTube it, lol. Sorry, I'm lame that way ;)
So while I respect that they couldn't do more than two VOs for each gender (and even then it's nice they even gave us that!) I'm glad they thought of it as it'll help me feel like my PCs are more distinct for each other.

@Potato Cat- Yeah that's true,  just something deeper than an elf lol would be fine, manipulation could quickly end up sounding robotic.

@Panda- I get you, there are times in swtor, when I'd create a character and just know the voice from a different class would suit it so much better. So choosing would be great.

@Curious Artemis- lol yeah I guess that could work. Saying that though I don't think Sten's voice was particularly deep so It may not be too much of an issue

Sorry for the off topic, but I love Edinburgh. I've only been there once but it's such a beautiful city.

Definitely high up on my list of places to visit if I can ever afford it.  :P

Definitely worth the visit.  Just avoid Fleshmarket unless you want to walk up like, a mile of stairs (not exaggerating at all)  ^_^

I have nine runs, to see how the world changes because of what I do. :D For example, How will Cullen differ in a world where Kinloch Hold was annulled, as opposed one where it wasn't?

I wouldn't mind a skip combat button for when I'm trying to record scenes and clips for videos, lol!
