As the peace talk involves mages, Templars and the Chantry it will likely have Tranquil servants there; what was your Inquisitor's first impression of the Tranquil mages? And for the humans: has this opinion changed between the day they likely first met a Tranquil mage when they were younger, considering their family's connections to the Chantry, to the day the game starts?
Huh. An interesting question. Let me ask them.
Just a sec...
...
Elke thinks they're creepy, and always has, but after learning more about it from various family members, believes it is more merciful than killing people who can't control their magic for some reason. She hasn't had much contact with them, though - she's only met one when she was pretty young when an older sibling contracted an enchanted item from the Circle, and she went with them to pick it up. If there are Tranquil at the conclave, she will politely avoid them if possible, and if not possible, will speak with them as any other person and gloss over any oddness if she can.
Aralan has heard of them, but never seen one. Though he understands the idea in theory, he doesn't have a very firm grasp on the effects on personality and such. Most likely he wouldn't put two and two together if he ran into a Tranquil, and just think it's an odd person. He doesn't plan on engaging anyone in conversation at the conclave anyway, if he can help it.
Sasani is (understandably) conflicted. She looks at them and thinks, "There but for the Maker's Mercy stand I". So, on one hand, she likes that they never bothered her when she was in the store rooms doing research, and appreciates their intelligence and diligence. She finds it offensive when others refer to or treat them like mindless automatons, though they, of course, tell her they don't care one way or the other. Therefore, she was pleased when a Tranquil at the Circle once praised her for her diligence in record keeping around her potion crafting and experiments, and told her how much easier that made his job, but her blood ran cold when in the next breath he said she would make an excellent Tranquil herself. That's going to be foremost in her mind if she sees any at the conclave - even if she can avoid execution, is the Rite of Tranquility the best they will be able to negotiate? Are the Tranquil's presence a not so subtle remind of that? She hopes not, but seeing them would make her...twitchy.
