I started playing Dragon's Dogma on PS3 at launch with my pretty-boy pawn, and did very well for myself in terms of rentals!
After I hit level 200 and other players had to make friend requests to hire him, I noticed many of them were from Japan. ;)

Ahh yeah Japanese fans are more down with that sort of thing

EDIT: Wow "J-A-P" is censored. I was using it with a period behind it as a short-cut, not the WWII pejorative LOL

Speaking of balls, maybe they are just removing a few "things" from some of the female armors :P

Hey now, codpieces are for everyone! Lots of nerve endings there. *nod nod*

Sorry for the OT but were the background blurbs\classes removed from the main site? I can`t find them anymore...

It was pretty buggy. Makes me wonder if some of the background blurbs were incorrect now... maybe I should hold off on getting this video out tomorrow in case some of it is incorrect.

Don't remind me. It makes me so angry when I see female warriors in bikini shaped armours. I mean, I enjoyed "Xena the Warrior Princess" a lot but seriously, let's enhance the costumes and move on. And when I read things like what your little brother said I'm grinding my teeth. So, yay, thanks BioWare for designing such awesome armours - even for female warriors.

I like how Dragon Age team has some female characters in more revealing stuff and some less based on their personality. Isabela's sexy outfit makes sense, Morrigan's outfit fits to her personality as well and it's balances out by Leliana's, Merrill's and Aveline's very unrevealing but still pretty and fitting outfits :)

Also I love how some male costumes are sexy as well, like some mage robes.. when you put them to female character they are revealing but when you put them to male character you see nibbles. I was pretty shocked about that.. usually male characters don't get sexy costumes at all XD And then there is covering ones of cource.

Maybe some range and not over-the-top sexiness is what I would like to see in games and movies. Some equility too, not always women to have sex appeal and guys to have realistical and strong looking oufits ^^

A really well done prompt, detailing what Solas sees in each of the companions'/advisors' dreams:

  • Solas knows what Cole really looks like in the Fade. When his spirit is restless, Solas knows how to sooth him with the soft hum of a tune only they know.
  • The nightmares of the taint are vicious, and Solas knows the Calling is soon. Each night Solas guides Blackwall through his personal hell. Ushering him through until the darkness of his dreams turns to images of long lost family.
  • Vivienne and Solas enjoy tea and the quiet solemnity of her mind in the fade. That is where they discuss what advice they should offer the Inquisitor and pointedly debate the politics of elves and mages.
  • Varric dreams of blood and the screams of a burning Kirkwall, when they are all pulled into the fade. Solas knows that his help is not always welcome here, so he takes the form of Varric’s friend Hawke. Together they pull through the rubble, and for a moment Solas feels what it is like to be a hero.
  • Dorian’s fade is interesting, always darker than he thought the man would visualize. He dreams of dragons and blood. Sometimes he is close to indulging, other times he stands in silence from his own fears. Solas does his best to keep him company in those moments of silence. He often finds the face of the Inquisitor is more welcome than his own.
  • Solas keeps away the bad men in Sera’s dreams. He allows her to assume her childlike form and truly enjoy her childhood, even it is only in her dreams.
  • Solas enjoys Cassandra’s dreams most. She dreams of heroes and heroines, princes and true love, in a way that only someone with so much hope can. In her dreams he is only ever a spectator. When her suitor comes in reality, Solas will ensure he meets her dream’s expectations.
  • Iron Bull is something different in the fade. He dreams of blood and disappointment. There he carries a different name, and he does not acknowledge the things he has fallen in love with in reality. Solas has tried to offer him escape, a reprieve, but Iron Bull never falters. In his dreams, his loyalty never waivers.
  • Leliana sees the Archdemon almost as much as Blackwall when she drifts away. The fear is so poignant here, Solas must keep the demons at bay. He does not know her well, but the burden she bears is great and Solas understood the need for a friend in the darkness.
  • Josephine’s is a ball. She feels free when she dances and is spun round and round. Sometimes Solas is her dance partner, and for a brief moment he feels the fleeting glee of a perfect spin.
  • Cullen carries a heavy burden. Once the demons have wormed their way in, it is incredibly difficult to keep them out. Solas can’t keep these images at bay, too difficult to discern which are real. So instead Solas pulls Cullen into a happy memory when the weight becomes too much. Sometimes it is one of Cullen’s, other times it is one of Solas’. This is a gift he has only ever shared with a few.
  • The Inquisitor is special. They walked into his Fade, waltzing in as if they had always been there. Solas had always built walls around his home in the Fade, yet he was comfortable letting the Inquisitor stay. The Inquisitor mostly rested there, searching for silence in the storm. Sometimes they would silently cry in his lap, other times hum a tune and splash their feet in a small creek at the border of his territory. There the Inquisitor was allowed to see more of him than any other. They never spoke of it when they woke, but Solas knew they remembered. It was nice, actually, to have someone that truly understood him there in the Fade. Was this what love is?

It almost makes Solas seem like he's a Somniari, like Feynriel.

Not excited about fewer healing spells and more defensive spells for mages. I know we've been told about it before, but between that, the lack of auto-heal, and the potion limits, there's going to be a lot of heading back to the castle between battles. I feel bad for players who won't be heading back there all the damn time anyway for other reasons. :)

But I love the Varric-specific skill they described! And Inquisitor-specific... I guess Varric will be one of the rogue specializations, then? Interested to see how specializations work out, since it sounds like it's not "taught by" companions/advisors...

(edited to acknowledge semi ninja! and then again to add some stuff.)

I don't remember if they confirmed before a real equipment delay, or jus an aesthetical change based on the environment and weather.

The Varric/PC ability is interesting. Either Varric has an unique spec but a talent available to one rogue specs, or companions have the same specs of the PC.

I thought they said that our companions/advisers wouldn't be teaching us specializations?

Also, the "device" might not be a physical one. It might just be a spot marker.

Oh thank goodness, while I was intrigued about the idea of patching up our stuff, I can imagine that after a while that would get really, really annoying as you're forced to wait for nature to return so you can get enough loot and cash to patch up your gear, then rinse and repeat.

And I have the sneaking suspicion that unless it's super costly to make and/use, Fallback Plan will end up being abused to nigh infinity and become our resident gamebreaker. And I'm entirely okay with that.

I liked it as well. Though I don't care that much that it's no longer in the game.

When i played the demo i put it on super easy and it wasn't that bad,  i didn't even needed to use a healing spell nor a potion to regain my health even when i was fighting a mini boss and  when the game comes out i think i will stick to that difficulty because i suck at combat and im not ashamed to admit it :P

I usually like to play games on Normal or Hard (although IIRC I played most of DA2 on Easy because I found the Parachuting Enemies tedious and was mainly playing the game for the story); my ideal difficulty setting has most big battles taking me more than one try (but not more than, like, 4 for the Archdemon). I just want to be able to clean up between battles without having to deal with A. loading screens for going back to camp constantly or B. spending a ton of money on potions (like in DAO when you get injuries and can't heal them without going to camp or spending an Injury Kit until you have a fairly advanced Spirit Healer). Unless they explicitly say otherwise, I'm holding out hope that there are still one or two basic healing / revival spells, though (did you see one while playing?).

I like that specializations will have more impact and relevance in the game  :):

«[ML]: Mark's being cryptic about one particular element of the game, so I won't spoil that, but I will say that specializations are earned, not granted for free. You will be able to preview all the specialization abilities available to you before you make a choice of which path you want to follow. It's worth noting that unlike in the previous DA games, we've decided to bulk out the specializations more, but you will have to choose one to follow with your character. They add a lot of depth to your tactical options, but we wanted them to be actually special.»
