Fenris is the worst though; he loves ignoring my commands and doing something else.

Playing DAO on console for the first time now, so my first time without overhead Tactical View... the worst for me is when you tell some mage (including the PC) to cast a ranged spell at Enemy X and the mage goes "OK!" and runs up to Enemy X to cast the spell at melee range. headbash.gif

(note: Not referring to the fact that ranged spells have a finite range and they have to get closer to be within casting range--sometimes if the topography is weird they will run literally arms' length away from their target to cast for some reason.)

I think you're right, though I'd prefer Cass and Blackwall to swap over. She was never actually a Templar, (that we know of), and she just went straight to Seekership. Plus, if lyrium addiction is going to be a thing, I'd rather it was Cullen's thing. I mean, Bull already stole his PTSD thing.

I don't believe there's any evidence to support this one way or another, except that Mike Laidlaw told us that Seekers are usually chosen from the best of the best Templars...

He is too creepy!  Cole is Mr Creepy McCreep Pants!   :P

With his whole weird dead skin face and his 'Are the Templars coming to kill you' fishy, boggle eyed thing going on!  My reaction was ' yes, the Templars are probably coming to kill me.........but they are DEFINITELY going to have a go at you if they catch sight of your obviously not of this world CREEPINESS!

I'm not very good at being a strategic player, but I really WANT to be. Will there be some sort of stepping stones to allow players like me to graduate from more simple, action-oriented combat to a more strategic way of thinking? —Haley Livermore, Facebook

[DK]: Many battles are in locations that allow you to "scout" your opponents before they notice you, giving you the time to analyze tactical opportunities the environment offers: chokepoints for warriors, blind approaches for rogues, enemies in vulnerable locations, etc. Sometimes your allies will spot opportunities in these fights and make suggestions on strategies of approach.

I hate having to be that strategic...  :crying:  :crying:  :crying:  I'm going to suck at this game.

Actually Dawn of Seeker does indicate that she directly joins the Seekers

You can't suck.....you are the Player Character, you just die and get up again UNTIL you are victorious.

So think of it as delayed AWESOME instead.   :D

Well if we roughly estimate that of 9:40 Dragon, Cassandra is 40, she would have been 22 as of the main events of Dawn Of The Seeker. She must have advanced from Templar to Seeker pretty quickly if she was a Templar.

That said, the timeline is often a bit borked.

Yeah, hard to say. If you've been training since age 15, possible. Maybe. Thing is, we know she's younger than 40 in 9:40, according to MLaw, so younger than 22 in 9:22. So, questionmarks remain, relating back to my suspicions about DotS originally intending to be set in 9:38ish...

I have heard that this game will have several fights that will be quite challenging...tactically, I truly suck as well, luckily there will be Cullen to kiss my wounds and ease my pain...lol

Yeah, but you can make more potions at your camps, so it shouldn't mean a lot of trips back to Skyhold or anything time-wasting. We'll hope, anyway...

Unless of course there is something/or SOMEONE at Skyhold that makes you want to go back there often

Same here, I usually just make sure the party's tactics are set and just wing it with the PC....I am so gonna be screwed.

I don't even like to bother with tactics. Pop it in and give it a go on casual, I say. ;) It's their own fault if they die.

I play tactical, because I can have the enemies focused on the warriors and have the rogue sneak behind.

I like to imagine the enemy spots my rogue at the last second and

I think you guys are being too hard on yourself. I didn't consider myself much of a tactical player, but I even learned a bit without the benefit of the tactical camera in Origins when I learned how to set up my party abilities in the tactics screen.

If you can locate basic choke points (narrow areas to stick your tank/warrior in the party) and then keep your ranged characters out of view from other ranged characters, you already have a basic grasp of tactics and can go from there. :)

"I'm Twitter-Challenged, but would somebody mind firing off a tweet at Mike about the combat Q&A and ask if we can still access our abilities through the radial menu (aka not just 8 that are mapped to the face buttons)? "

Mike Laidlaw ‏@Mike_Laidlaw
Nope, but you can change them up in the field.

Well...fudge.

Yeah, this is one of the things that stresses me out. I like being able to get into that kind of mode once I'm use to a game...so by my third or fourth playthrough lol

I still have to wonder what this means for the PC interface though.
