Maybe it's the translation, but that last thing sounds really weird.

I would have preferred if they just stuck to the story reasons he's not available than give us that weird mess. 

 

I think it's the journalist's translation to Swedish that's a little bit off. It's not a very well-written article and that particular section doesn't make more sense even if you read it in swedish.

 

I think what they're trying to convey is pretty much that they've listened to the feedback, they are aware that some fans want him as a LI and some do not. They're saying no to making him romanceable, but it is a well thought-through decision.

 

But yeah, they're not really giving much of a reason for choosing to not make him a LI.

Would someone kindly inform me if Cullen mentions Surana at all in Dragon age 2? I know the Amell (from Origins) comes up from people mentioning it but I've never heard about Surana. Anybody know?

I don't think he does? He only mentions Amell to Hawke because they are related. Maybe Surana is only mentioned in his codex.

The wiki says that he mentions him: "There was an Amell in the Ferelden Circle, he left before Uldred attacked and came back to save us all."

Maybe there was a bug in your save or something?

He'll only mention the female Amell, if you played her in origins. He will mention it in the Gallows  pretty much as soon as you start the second chapter, if you leave it too long he moves on to other things when you talk to him.   Not sure though if he only mentions it to a female Hawke, I wouldn't have thought so.

Just go to him in the gallows after chapter 2 starts and click on him. Don't leave it too long though as he will eventually skip that part and move on to something else

Also, if there are any DC Comics fans here, he voices Captain Boomerang in the new Assault on Arkham video.
