I still have no internet (At sister's house now) so waaaay behind in the thread!! Sooo sorry for Varricmancers... believe me, I empathize and know that feel. The pain will pass. Easiest thing to do is think about other aspects of the game you are excited about. Pick a second or third choice LI and research about him/her and try to get psyched about that romance. It helps.

 

Of course there is, all are welcome! And Cullen doesn't mind being shared.

 

Don't forget the dream I had, when I attended a Cullenite reunion, and you all brought Cullen as a date

You know watching the new demo, where they run over the bridge, I was suddenly reminded of other demos where we pulled down the bridge. Now I'm expecting to be stuck in a situation where Blackwall will say, "What have you done? We needed that bridge to get to the prisoners!!" Me: "Derp!!"

 

Me: You keep your thoughts to yourself or you're sleeping on the couch, buster!

Mini rant. I swear people don't listen to a word I say in those videos. I clearly stated that Dwarves can't do magic and that the Dalish do have mages in their clans and yet I still get comments saying "I'm going to be the first mage Dwarf" and things like that. 

 

I mean, I thought I laid it all out pretty clearly and spoke slow enough for people to understand my accent (or lack of) easy enough. :-/

 

You did; they are just stupid. Trust me, no matter how clearly you state something (**coughSYLLABUScough**) someone will always miss it.

You know, people have said that Mage Hawke once he gets that armour becomes super-jacked, but I've looked at images of Hawke with and without it on a million times and I still can't see much difference in his muscle-size?

 

And in honour of Greg doing the challenge, a cookie for anyone who draws Cullen being thawed out of an ice-cube!

I don't think I will cry; I already did that over Cullen; BioWare shall get no more tears out of me

 

But I will be pretty depressed. Interest in the game will decrease dramatically. Other than the angry straight white fanboys (you know the type, does not include all white male fans ofc), I sometimes feel like I lucked out the least in terms of LIs. What a bummer. I've not met anyone as depressed as myself, but I haven't visited every thread of course. I hope all of the Varricmancers have second choices that are available

Varricmancer here! For me, Varric was the only male option I wanted more than anything.
I'm hoping for Solas as LI but I'm definitely not looking forward to him like I was Varric so right now, that's doing little to comfort me.
I do have Josephine and Sera confirmed available to me and I really want to romance them.

I'm also praying for Vivienne and will shed tears if she isn't available either.
I don't know, maybe it's strange that I wanted a male romance I could have/really wanted in game too other than the two females that I'm anticipating that are confirmed. It's weird, I think. In Jade Empire I didn't feel this way (Silk fox forever) nor in Mass Effect (I never romanced Kaidan and didn't care he was the only male option) . But in DAI , I hope there's a male option that will sweep me off my feet and that I will anticipate greatly!

all the links are really helpful and I'll probably keep picking through them to find something that makes me go "yes Cullen!!!"

Funny enough, I'm just finishing a DAO run (Leliana's song all the way through witch hunt where I'm at now) as an Amell before I heard any of this (started about two weeks ago) and was thinking "Cullen is such an adorable nerd in DAO" wen I first ran into him. Maybe it's fate

I understand. I felt the same way after Cullen was confirmed straight. I felt so depressed and couldn't fathom romancing anyone else. For a few days I had no interest in the game and had no intentions of buying it. But then a few days later, Iron Bull was confirmed as a LI, and I kind of rallied, I guess? He was/is my third choice... but at least now there was someone I actually was interested in romancing? I kind of meditated on him awhile, and finally grew to really love the idea of him and my Kael Lavellan together. It's not like I really really like him, and I'm not even posting in his thread or anything, but it's like, okay, I can breathe. So I know what you mean by "I'm not looking forward to him like I was Varric" because no way do I give a jot about Iron Bull in comparison to Cullen. But at least I care about the game again.

 

Now I'm on pins and needles hoping for my second choice, Blackwall!!!! If he is confirmed, I really think I will regain 90% of my original enthusiasm for the game.

Thanks for understanding Artemis. I was worried I wouldn't make sense or I was wrong for feeling that way. If I get Vivienne my pain will definitely lessen ! I really want her (my second romance choice) but right now I'm almost wary of getting what I want haha.


So since Cullen is confirmed and I'm interested in his role, I want to try and bump my enthusiasm for what I know I can have.

(iron bull falls into the I'm not really enthusiastic for him seeing as while I like him, nothing has really brought me to the enthusiastic point)

The fire-screaming seriously made me consider reverting to my original plan to use the American voice on my first run despite otherwise being excited about AWR. :\ It seemed like it could get annoying really quickly.
