Deep, baritone voices are my catnip, but any nice voice (e.g. Greg ellis!) can make me look past most of my preferences in regards to appearance. I'm kinda shallow that way.I'm just a Grade A sucker for a tortured soul and the first thing I look for in a man is a nice voice (which should explain Garrus and Fenris quite adequately, too). Looks have very little to do with anything for me
Also, completely OT: has anyone else played episode 5 of TWD? I just finished it and...uhm I kind of a mess right now. :S

I've played 3 or 4 MMORPGs over the years (the last few months are the first time I haven't had some involvement with one in about 8 years), but I tried large group end content a few times and swore them off completely because I got fed up with rude gamers who expected you to understand every instruction instantly and berated new players for their gear, etc. I play for fun, not stress. But with the right people, people who can laugh at whatever goes wrong, it can be a blast.
I've played a couple of MMOrpgs on and off for years, I had a very bad experience in one raid, years ago that literally left me physically bubbling in tears at my desk, hubby going berserk etc, such a bad experience, I swore I'd never get into that situation ever again, so I've avoided group content like that in games since then.
It's the voice,always!
Agreed, voice and personality for me ![]()

Tell me about it. I played WoW back in the day, everyone was telling me how great raiding was but I just never clicked with me. Maybe it was because there were too many people who took it too seriously, or maybe I was just crap at itI've played 3 or 4 MMORPGs over the years (the last few months are the first time I haven't had some involvement with one in about 8 years), but I tried large group end content a few times and swore them off completely because I got fed up with rude gamers who expected you to understand every instruction instantly and berated new players for their gear, etc. I play for fun, not stress. That's the big gameplay trailer?
What a letdown.
I think there is more to come from Pax according to the word in Scuttlebutt, I hope that's true.

I've never played any of TWD, sorry. Am I missing something awesome?

My question is, even although I feel we have been lucky and he is indeed very handsome, would any of you have turned away from his romance in DAI if his look had been, in your opinion, bad?
He is almost the stereotypical Knight in Shining Armour and I wonder if that has influenced anyone to romance him, taking priority over his character growth and story arc?
I don't see him as a Knight in Shining Armour - even though he is a Templar and wearing an armour
. I think I'm interested in romancing him because of my past with this character, i.e. my previous encounters with Cullen in DA:O and DA 2. To be honest, I can't really tell if I would still be interested in the romance if his face model would completely turn me off. On the one hand, his voice would still be good, no matter what. On the other hand, it's a freaking game, so I don't mind some eye candy. But I've also got a high tolerance. So far, I like all of the characters. I don't think there is something wrong with Morrigan (well, apart from Morrigan being Morrigan
). As long as I'm not in total shock (DA 2 Alistair, I'm looking at you), I think I would romance Cullen even if his looks were not so good.

Aside from the fact that I currently resemble a human jellyfish, yeah it's awesome. It's got its problems sure, especially this season, but it reduces me to this state on a regular basis, so it must be doing something right!I've never played any of TWD, sorry. Am I missing something awesome?
...from an artistic standpoint. Maybe not so much for my emotional health!

Ok, I need cheering up, popped into another thread about Ugly characters......it seems, to a few people that aging and increased ugliness go hand in hand
I'm sitting here, the other side of 40 thinking "urgh, bad hair day, totally didn't need to read that today" lol.
Yes, I'm also on the other side of 40, so I'll join that club, too. Heh
The consensus seems to be that Cullen and Lelliana have aged pretty well but poor Morrigan has polarised some opinions.
In my opinion, Cullen has grown into himself, we have the benefit of being able to see the changes, almost gradually through the games which probably helps.
My question is, even although I feel we have been lucky and he is indeed very handsome, would any of you have turned away from his romance in DAI if his look had been, in your opinion, bad?

Honestly, when I first was looking into DA : I, the only picture I saw was the portrait one of him scowling, and I was ambivalent. Then I realized he was the same templar my Warden had saved from the tower, and started to do some digging into his background (since I hadn't gotten far enough into DA2 to interact with him), and was very impressed with his character arc. By the time I wandered back, there were additional screenshots which I found much more attractive. Did my research influence how attractive I found the new pictures? Hard to say.
There were certainly characters in other games who I found to have attractive models, but whose temperament put me off. I am, however, quite the sucker for paladin-types, so I'm pretty forgiving of those archetypes' character flaws. I even enjoyed Anomen's romance. He was fun to interact with because he also grew a lot as a person over the course of the BG 2 saga - of course, he had a lot of room to grow as well, considering his starting point. Heh.
On the other side of the coin, I would never have thought I'd like NWN : HotU's Valen romance quite as much as I did - I'm not a big fan of tieflings or dark and broody types, but he won me over anyway. Additionally, I don't find Solas attractive, but his character sounds intriguing, so Sasani (my mage) may end up with him instead of Cullen.
So, long and short of it, I'm not going to complain that Cullen is "classically handsome", but his personality and character arc is a big part of why I can't wait for Elke (human noble) to meet him. ![]()

I've run out of likes for the first time, but yes! I'm actually not that interested in more gameplay demos (none of that stuff ever makes real sense to me until I'm actually doing it myself); I want Skyhold and the remaining LIs/racegates.

Question for those of you who are more in touch with the Cullen fanfiction world than me: does anyone know why "Fire in the Blood" isn't on AO3 anymore? I was enjoying the hell out of it, to the extent that a new chapter more than cancelled out my disappointment whenever Keep invites went out without me or a Friday passed without the GE video. If it's personal or a ban or something please forget I asked--not looking to stir up drama, just wondering if we'll get to read the end of it, and I have no idea what its author's username is on social media to ask directly.

Well, to keep things in line with Mr. Lee's tweet:
Inquisitor Question Time
How will your Inquisitor handle the moments when they have to judge the crimes of another? Will they be merciful or harsh? Will they have difficulty making such decisions or will it come easy for them? Will biases show where it comes to different races or cultures? Will it strong depend on the situation and the story behind the crime or will your Inquisitor take a more black and white view on the matter, where circumstances, backstories and mental states will not matter?

Awesome, thanks! It isn't showing up in the usual tags for me for some reason, and I was remembering her name without the space so when I searched it that way it looked as if she'd taken down all her stuff. Crisis averted, and if anyone was looking for recommendations, consider that if you're not already reading it!

Fëanor will try to be impartial when making such decisions, and don't let his race and the race of the accused to be relevant.Well, to keep things in line with Mr. Lee's tweet:

He won't judge with a black and White approach. He'll consider all the circumstances that lead to that situation.
